Shortly after walking through the door, things took a turn. I was given the intake form which I completed. Then I was told, I had to pay before my services were even started. The woman at the front told me she would "maybe be leaving early" because she had "stuff to do." She said you normally pay after but I would be paying before. Worst case scenario, I was racially profiled and made to pay early. Less worst case scenario, I was still treated differently than normal and as a first time guest. I wasn't offered any refreshments or anything. I stuck it out because my boyfriend put thought into it, but the experience was ruined before it even started for me. I hoped the massage would make up for it...it didn't. My door was left open which is weird considering I had no clothes on and the massage was just alright. Once completed, the masseuse left the room with my door open again for me to have to get up nearly naked to close it so I could get dressed. I turned on the lights to see the satin pillow topper that was removed once I turned from lying on my stomach to my back during the massage was on the floor. I'll include a picture of what I saw and was lying on. I quickly got dressed and made my way to the exit where a choir of employees started the "excuse me, excuse me!" chant as if I was running out without paying. If you're going to make me pay ahead of time, communicate that to others so I'm not accosted while trying to leave. All and all, I won't be coming back and I don't know how they have good reviews.

They ensure that they ask questions to make sure that it was either enough pressure or too much, etc.. They were very friendly and I did enjoy the experience. The only thing I could say that I wasn't necessarily too fond of was when it came to pay I paid the total and I gave a tip ... I was told by the owner or manager, I'm not sure what her role specifically was basically told me I did not tip enough and I should tip more because there is a minimum standard. That's the only thing I would say I wasn't too fond of because in the world of tips a tip is not supposed to be delegated by the establishment.. so I felt peer pressure into giving more tip... but she should not do that because you don't know the background of people you don't know how much money people do or do not have so. I don't think that was necessarily nice. But the massage therapist were great and amazing! So I can't say I will not come back.

I first contacted "The Massage Dude" on 8/12 through yelp to request an appointment and inform him of my issues. He gave me some information and I set the appointment up for this week, 8/19 at 4pm. We went back and forth about his availability. And I understood he was very busy because he has GREAT reviews so duh, why wouldn't he be booked up. Fast forward to a day or two after I scheduled the appointment. He sends me a text messages stating that he has to push my appointment back to "7-8". I informed him I could not do it that late and asked if he had any other availability. I got no response. A day later I texted him and asked the same question. He apologized for the delay and said he was moving things around to fit me in. Fine, I let him be for the weekend. Hoping to hear back so I can plan my week around this massage that I seriously need! And unfortunately still nothing. So, I reached out to him one last time, via text, to inquire about his availability. I can see that he has read my text. But has still failed to respond. At the very least, it would have been nice to get some type of response letting me know he was not able to fit me in. Not just straight up ignoring me.
