Additionally, he kept the install date on our original schedule. Because Joe took the initiative to call me, even after our last conversation, which didn't end well, and make an attempt to make things right, I agreed to give American River one more chance. I am glad that I took the chance because my fence is finally done and it looks amazing. Which I knew they did good work. That was never In question. But overall, I am thankful that we got it done, at a fair price and I can say that I walked away satisfied. Which at the end of the day is what's most important. Now my kids can play outside safely and I'm a happy dad :)

We are retired senior citizens who live in Citrus Heights duplex on Kingswood Dr. We decided to…read morereplace approximately 130 feet of fence and a retaining wall. We contacted American River Fence for a quote to replace all. On 1/7/22 Joe Pike, from American River Fence quoted us a price of $8557.50 which I agreed to. We took out a loan to cover the cost of labor and materials. In our subsequent discussion Mr Pike was informed that the existing fence afforded us no privacy and we needed the new fence to correct the problem. I am an 87 year old cancer victim and have been spending a significant amount of time in and out of the hospital. When the first portion was completed, I noticed that I had good visibility into my neighbor's yard because of the wide gaps between the redwood pickets.Unfortunately, I got sick again and spent more time in the hospital. When I returned, the second portion of the fence had been completed and I could see my neighbor's pool through the picket fence gaps. I contacted Mr. Pike , he came to my home and witnessed my complaint advising me that the gaps are for when the wood got wet, it would have room to expand and I informed him that his workers had informed me the wood was green and very heavy when installed. I told Mr. Pike that the pickets were now beginning to dry out and the gaps were getting wider and worsening the problem. He said the fence is merely a barrier and not a privacy fence (which I had ask for). I suspect the the uneven gaps were to save on redwood pickets. Anyway Mr. Pike's solution was to install 2 inch wood slats to cover all the gaps on only approximately 50 feet of fence. (The only area that was visible from the back patio) for an additional $1,000 which I agreed to. I tried to contact him the next three days waiting for the same $1,000 written quote which never came. On the third day he called to inform me that he needed an additional $700 dollars to perform the work. The total price of all labor and materials was now up to $10,257.50. As we could not afford to borrow more money we decided that we were stuck with an inferior fence and declined the second quote. At best evaluation: I would rate American River Fence as a 2 STAR facility.

Even though he was just slightly higher (maybe by $120) his start time was half of the next closest bid. They showed up on the start date and were finished within a reasonable amount of time. Giving 2 starts because Alexander's made the efforts to fix a walkway gate off the side of my…read moregarage as well as a double access road gate on the same side, but ultimately their attention to detail failed after those several attempts. To this day the access road gate still sags and is difficult to open and close. A few years ago they came and built some VERY expensive simple walkway gates and an access road gate. The first thing I said is I need them to be pool code because we were saving to build a pool. The walkway gates were in the area of $900. Time after time the walkway gate would not close on its own and, in my opinion was poorly built. I do appreciate them coming to try and fix them but ultimately could not. I've had to cut some pieces to get the lock to have enough space it would close. I would not recommend them as they could solve a simple gate not closing.

I recently had a disappointing and subpar experience with Fence Connection. An adjoining fence with…read moremy neighbors was replaced, and I had contacted them during the process to inquire about a gate replacement. The owner was very responsive. However, the next day that was not the case when I contacted him regarding damaged property that had been incurred near the fence during the fence replacement process. It's been nearly a week and I've sent two messages, both of which have been ignored. The irony is that it was just a broken garden statue, valued around $100, but they never even asked what happened. It feels like they were too afraid to respond or inquire about my concerns. The lack of accountability, responsibility and communication regarding property damage is upsetting and I would hope that in the future this owner would at least want to respond and know what occurred rather than ignore potential future clients out of fear of owning up to what was ultimately just a small mistake.

Jeff of Everest concrete did a reasonably big job for us recently - 4 stairs + 5500 sq ft of…read moreconcrete including the driveway. It was split into two jobs. Overall very happy with Jeff's execution. First of all - his bid for the job was very reasonable and he provided a quote in reasonable time. My builder had his own concrete guy and I am not even sure why that other guy exists in the business because his bid was not only late, it was incomplete and lot of unknowns. Comparatively, Jeff was more thorough and gave the estimate in a very reasonable time. I liked his and his crew's work ethics. They showed up when they said they would. A lot of contractors practice what is I call "book the job" - they will come in one day, move a few things and then disappear for several days. Nothing like this with Jeff - they executed. His crew even worked very late in the evening with rechargeable lights to do the broom finish. While Jeff was executing my job, he became very sick - but he was back on my job for the pre-pour inspection and then getting the job completed even though I could tell he was not 100%. On the final billing - there were a few minor adjustments - all very reasonable for a few extra things that I had requested or for the complications that he ran into on the job. He also gave me credit for a few things. All done very fairly. I have no hesitation in recommending Jeff for concrete.

I got quotes from several places and they had the best deals, in fact it genuinely felt like they were looking for ways to save me money. They sent two employees to do the installation, they were both very quick, courteous, and professional and the fence and gate they installed looks great! My only reservation is that it felt like I had to do all the follow up with them about getting quotes and scheduling visits. But when I would contact them they were really responsive. I can tell that he is detail oriented when he did the first inspection. We had his team diagnose two molded base boards that was growing in the bathrooms. They showed up on time and help us discovered some leakage issues as well as showers not waterproofed. The went ahead and fixed the pipe and baseboard including re-doing the caulking. They had to come back finish minor blemishes but all in all it was an excellent experience. Everyone was courtesy, respectful, and polite. I will definitely book this team again for projects!!

The room was patchy and damaged by the previous renters and it was driving me crazy. The did a great job and it looks so good. I had a missing chunk of stucco on the outside wall and they were able to repair that as well. I'll be painting the exterior of the house next year, and likely room by room slowly over time as well. I'm so glad I can go to Pridex for all this! Really good people, incredible pricing. Would absolutely recommend!!!
