We have been there before and this place is Absolutely Beautiful and the Food is Delicious. We rented out 'The Audrey', which is a Private Dinning area and Private Theater with those comfortable seats you can lay back in and enjoy the movie. But first, a little about 'Star Cinema Grill'. When you first walk into this place you are amazed at how Beautiful it is. The approach to the Ticket Area is Very Impressive. They even have Mask for those that forgot theirs - and their Entire Staff wears a Mask. Next is the Bar/Dinning area that is AwesomlyBeautiful. At first look you think you're on a Cruise and aboard a Very Beautiful Ship. Everything about this place is Elegant - even the walkways to each Theater - and the Restrooms - Yep, even them. My Wife said that she has a dress just like the carpet here - sure glad she didn't wear it last night, I might not find her. Now, back to the review - The Audrey Dining area was set up with separate tables for each couple social distanced apart. The Manager, Colleen, met with us and we went over the evening. Everyone arrived on time and MJ, our Private Server, took our drink orders and returned pretty quick with our drinks. I'm having their 'Frozen Jack-N-Coke' and my Wife is getting their 'Texas Mule'. F.J&C is my Favorite Drink and when it arrived I was totally impressed as to the appearance of this drink - it was Fluffed Up above the rim of the glass. This was a Pretty Good Drink and the taste of Jack - and it's Fluffed Up. My Wife enjoyed her 'Texas Mule' and had a couple of these during the evening. MJ, our Server, took all our orders and placed them electronically. Their Menu consist of 'Previews' as Appetizers, 'Feature Presentations' as Entrees (along with Pizza and 'Green Screen' for Salads) and 'Closing Credits' as Desserts. They also have listed 'Kids Corner' for the Kiddies. The other side of the Menu list all the Drinks they offer - and there is a lot of them with Very Cool Names, along with 'Classic Candy' and 'Quick Flicks' (Popcorn, etc..). They also have a lot of Draft Beers on Tap - that's always good to know. My Wife ordered their 'Love Me Tenders'; Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenderloins with Seasoned Fries, Texas Toast & Country Gravy. I am having 'The Godfather' (Pizza); Sausage, Pepperoni, Peppers, Onions, Mushrooms, Black Olives, Tomatoes and Cheese. Note: They make their own Crust here and you can also have their Cauliflower Crust. While we waited for our food we chatted and enjoyed our drinks - and I really enjoyed my Fluffy-Frozen Jack-N-Coke. This was some Good Stuff. Soon, and I mean Real Soon, MJ started bringing out our food. My Wife's 'Love Me Tenders' look really good and their 'Presentation' is Beautiful. My 'Godfather' also looks Very Yummy and it was. Nice Fresh Flavor of Everything and the Crust is Lightly-Crunchy-Liciousness. Everyone enjoyed their food and ate all they could but due to the abundance of food on each plate and there were plenty of To-Go-Boxes prepared. You get a lot of Deliciousness at Star Cinema - but I ate all of mine because that's what I do. 'Star Cinema' provides you with a list of Movies to choose from for your Private Showing and we choose 'The Personal History of David Copperfield' based on the 1850 Novel 'David Copperfield' by Charles Dickens, which is Very Interestingly Done Different-ly Movie you will ever see - or something like that. You also can bring in any Movie you want on DVD (except a Disney Film) and it will be shown on the Big Screen for your Private Groups Enjoyment. When Dinner was done, we took our seats in the Theater section of 'The Audrey' which has those Plush Seats and more. They also offer Blankets for you to wrap up in if that's what you want - and a lot of our Group did just that. This place really goes all out for Customer Service. My Wife and I grabbed some seats and opened up our Popcorn Boxes that they provided for Everyone - and started enjoying the Coming Attractions and the Popcorn. This Popcorn is pretty good. I'm not a Popcorn Eater per-say but - I finished off my entire box half way through the movie - It's That Good. We enjoyed the Movie and it's Delightful Weirdness. Our Server stayed with us the entire time providing the Best Service you could get anywhere - and this is at a Theater. The 'Star Cinema Grill' offers the Best Service along with Delicious Food in a Very Elegant Setting. They also have $5 Tuesdays for Movies and offer Special Drinks on various days for only $5 - such as the 'Texas Mule' on Thursdays along with 'Craftmans Boch' - a Very Dark Beer that some of our Group enjoyed - and did I tell you I enjoyed my 'Fluffy-Frozen Jack-N-Coke? - well, I did. Check out the 'Star Cinema Grill' on Facebook and on-line - They are Awesome - They also can Delivery your Food Order via Grubhub directly to your home or office.

The food was surprisingly good for a theater--there's a solid variety on the menu, and everything we ordered came out fresh and flavorful. Being able to have meals and drinks brought right to your seat really adds to the experience. The service was attentive without being distracting, which made the whole visit feel smooth. The theater itself was clean, and the overall atmosphere was enjoyable. The only downside is that service can slow down a bit during busy showtimes, but overall it's a fun and convenient way to watch a movie.

We have set up hammocks in the area to further connect with nature. Recently, I embarked on a hike, enjoying a leisurely walk while observing wildlife, including a bunny. Following the hike, I relaxed and appreciated the water. During one visit, I encountered a diver who collected various items. Also have a place to rinse off and change. Camping sites and boating are available to rent. The park's safety is assured through routine checks by the rangers, which I find reassuring. Although alligators were spotted, they maintained a distance.

Since it was a holiday, it was booked way in advance and I would highly recommend everyone to do that. It's a bit of a drive from Houston, but once inside, I felt it was worth it. I had no idea it was even out here. There are fees to enter as well as fees for areas you want to rent for yourself. Huntsville State Park is located in the Sam Houston National Forest and is filled with beautiful trees, hiking trails and lakes. On the lake, you can fish, canoe and even swim. There is a designated spot for swimming which we saw but did not partake in. There is no lifeguard, so swim at your own risk and beware of the alligators. There are plenty of trails that can keep you busy for days. If you're into camping, there have plenty of campsites, including some screened shelter. The screened shelter plot we rented was spacious and had amenities like picnic tables, grill, water hookup, amp hookup, and restrooms and shower facilities nearby. It was a great setup for our large group. We had plenty of space to play, set up some little pools for the kiddos and eat without anybody being right on top of us. After coming here, I realized I need to take advantage of all the state parks in our amazing state and escape the hustle and bustle of the city every once in awhile. I would visit this place again for sure.

After checking their site, I saw a pair of shoes in the sizes I wanted to try available here, so I made the effort to drive on over. I knew what department to head to after seeing a directory and once I approached the area, I saw a woman behind the counter talking to a younger guy (late teens, early 20's) about non-work related stuff (concert tickets). I wasn't aware if he worked there or not but it took me a moment to get her attention. Once I did, she kind of looked me over and went to check stock in the back. She brought out a couple pairs, different colors, in one size although I requested two different sizes. She practically argued with me, saying these would fit, they run large, etc. so I shut it and just tried them on since I really wanted the shoes. I will say she was right, and they fit perfectly (I was running around all day so I wanted to wait after I was active for an accurate fit). She somewhat relaxed and I decided to look at a couple other styles of shoes of the same brand. She then asked if she could ring me up and I let her know I was going to continue shopping and if she could hold them for me. This is where her attitude changed back to the negative. Right then, I decided I was definitely not buying them from her. Shame since other associates seemed to return from break at this time who I feel I would have been pleasant to shop with but at this point, it was too late. Thankfully I found the shoes at another company where the service was on-point, and even though they don't make commission there, I was glad to give another business a sale. Even in a place such as Texas, Nordstrom still manages to fail in customer service (regardless of the department).

Rooms is clean and service folks were kind and very friendly…read more The room was pretty quiet except for normal downtown noises and there's some sort of purge of water in the hotel about every hour that wakes us up. I can only assume it's a waste water purge since we are in the 7th floor. And maybe it's only audible in that room. If so, they should turn that room into storage. Restaurant food was not great. Skip it. Front desk left me "stranded" after telling me the shuttle ran often - every 10 to 15 minutes. I waited at least 20-25 minutes and one of the service persons did his best to try and find the shuttle, but after many attempts brought me a water and said he couldn't reach them. I think his name was Tom and he was awesome! After being very late for my meeting due to the shuttle fiasco (I walked) I called the front desk and spoke to a couple of people. The "day" manager proceeded to blame me for the issue! He said it wasn't Marriott's shuttle and went on to then blame me AND the conference organizers! He told me I should have read some sign in the lobby. This after I had expressly told him that I called the front desk earlier and asked them if MARRIOTT had a shuttle to the convention center and they said yes they do! Interesting that they do have a vehicle with "Marriott" in gold lettering permanently inscribed on the doors that we took earlier this day? What a complete A-hole! He should not be speaking to anyone much less a client. At least the woman that answered apologized profusely. I hung up on the idiot after telling him I wanted him to have the hotel manager contact me. He said he would but I would not take that bet. I made it very clear he will be crucified by me in my conversation with his boss. Recommend: Stay at the Laura Hotel, much nicer and a great restaurant. Even if you don't stay there - try the restaurant. Marriott has lost their way.

Not once did we feel uneasy (and we live in the Houston area - did a staycation for my husband's birthday). A few years ago, it would be a different story. There are a few homeless in the general area, but they aren't disruptive. We stayed in room 705, complete with a city view. It was quiet and lovely. I wish the rooms had a full-size fridge and cooking area, but for downtown, the suites are just as big as a studio apartment. There's space-themed decor throughout the hotel. I found the valet pricing to be a bit steep, and unfortunately, I have reason to believe two pairs of sunglasses were stolen from my vehicle. (I realize they should have been put in my purse immediately after use, but it slipped my mind, and out of habit, I put them in the console.) Regardless, it's frustrating. It also took 10-15 minutes for valet to pull our car around, so that's something to keep in mind. The evening reception was nice, especially with the two drinks/person/night. We had chips and queso, though they had a few other offerings. Make sure you get the card at the front desk. The front desk staff will also try to sell you on destinations for a cheap rate. I'm not sure when this became a thing, but instead of telling us about the evening reception and breakfast, they tried selling us on a stay in Chicago. I really just wanted to go to our room since I did everything on the app. We also found the breakfast to be worth every penny to stay in this hotel. I can't have gluten, and there isn't any GF bread. I had eggs, potatoes, grits, and coffee. There were cereal, fruit, yogurt, and waffle-making options as well. I appreciated the coffee bar having various syrups. The hotel was extremely accessible for those with disabilities/handicaps. We saw several people in wheelchairs or with assistance. Hearsay on the Green is inside the hotel, and the food is priced well for what you get (and it's excellent). If you DoorDash, the Dasher has to leave your food/items at the front desk. They are not permitted to go up to guest rooms. The rooftop pool and hot tub offer views of the city and Toyota Center (excellent people watching). Overall, I'd stay again (but I'd ensure I brought my cheap sunglasses and not my Maui Jims).

I loved my room and the bar/restaurant was nice. Hotel Staff is excellent. Valet parking was fast.read more
