Erick was very friendly and provided great customer service during our initial conversation. I ordered tables , chairs, and linens for an event. Two days before the event I reached to him for a quick follow up. He text me saying "Yes delivery is ready to go, but we do have a problem." I called him right away and he said "All of the linen colors that you requested are not available, I only have one color because the cleaners didn't have them ready." I'm in the event coordinating industry so I know things happen that you can't always control, so I was very understanding and told him "Not to worry, just bring the one color you have." I took note of this situation, but I gave Erick the benefit of the doubt since I can relate and I know customers can be very demanding! The next day my customer called me at 10pm and told me the 7pm delivery from Erick never arrived (and the event was in the morning)! Immediately my stomach dropped, but I had to stay calm and problem solve. I called Erick to see what happened (maybe they were just running late? NO). He answered the phone and said he was stuck in Tomball with a flat tire (I could tell he just forgot because he was at home and I could hear kids playing in the background as he tried to quickly move to a quiet area of the house smh). NOW HERE IS MY ISSUE!!! I was not upset about the fact that the linens were not available, nor was I upset the he had a flat tired...I'm upset my fellow Yelpers because BOTH TIMES I HAD TO REACH OUT TIME and it was hours after both incidents occurred, so he just wasn't going to say anything! I was shocked. Erick started yelling at me about the fact that he was stressed out and had a long day...what?! This is your job! News flash! Jobs are stressful, but you're supposed to follow up with your customers and figure it out! The only reason I gave 2 stars is because he returned my money immediately after his explosive rant. I couldn't believe it, this guy is in the wrong industry if he can't handle stress and he needs to find a better way to manage his business (secretary maybe?). And to think this was actually a test run, I was going to hire him for a wedding next month $$$ and this all could have been avoided with a simple phone call to follow up--especially after I was so patient and kind with him about the first mistake he made. I was so relieved to be able to call my other vendor who booked the delivery with a smooth hand-off at such a short notice (if you need his number send me a message)! I don't recommend Dream Maker Events, but if you take a chance you will get your money back to say the least lol. Erick provided excellent customer service, was punctual, warm hearted and kind. He was trust-worthy, delivered everything he said he would as he said it would be, and even bought the sound equipment we purchased for our wedding.
