The food was really amazing and fresh. The people working there were super nice and the overall setting was super family like.

Mizu no longer has hibachi tables but they do serve hibachi style dinners which are still very good. You just won't get the show that goes with the meal. They also have excellent sushi. It's just that the whole place seems neglected. For starters, the outside is dark and there was high unkept grass and some trash in the parking lot. The whole entrance needs some kind of makeover because it is not inviting. I found myself carefully looking around while going back to my car because of the dark woods behind the building. Inside isn't much better. It was stuffy and the menus were sticky and falling apart. They also have those kind of cheap booths where you can feel every movement of the person behind you. People tend to flop into them and can literally knock the food off your fork if you're mid-bite. My wife and I shared some crab rangoons, which were quite large and had a nice crunch plus a decent amount of filling. They just came late when they should have been an appetizer. I had the chicken and shrimp hibachi which was great and I brought about 1/3 of it home. You get plenty of meat and veggies with it for twenty bucks. My wife had just the chicken hibachi which was five dollars less. We both got eggdrop soup and it is always good. We also ordered a sushi roll and they have a couple dozen specialties that are very good. They make fat rolls covered with toppings and really know what they are doing. Ours had shrimp, crawfish, and spicy tuna for about fifteen dollars, which is pretty normal pricing. I like the food here but they really could make more of an effort. Our server was overwhelmed and we still tipped well despite some mistakes. Another big back review here. Let me start by saying this is hands down the best sushi on the coast. Don't try to argue with me unless you have eaten at almost every sushi restaurant around the coast like I have. The freshest ingredients and perfectly prepared rolls around. We will start with it's the burning roll. Two kinds of tuna and absolutely stunning flavors. Then to the volcano, pieces were pretty big size but the flavor of the ingredients worked so well together, topped with salmon, tuna and avocado. Man is was 100/10. The filet mignon roll, came out with the thin sliced steak still hot. So good we ordered 2 along with the burning roll 2 were ordered. Of course we had the gyoza, fried rice and egg drop soup all came out fresh or very well made. The best part was the server I believe his name was Michael very helpful, and attentive to the restaurant needs and everybody in there. I'm closing I will say I was a see wee roll person 2 or 3 times a month and they just lost a customer to Mizu. read more

Me and my wife walked into the restaurant with nobody greeting us or even acknowledged that we are there. There was only one family sitting down eating so the restaurant being busy is not excuse. There was a cook at the sushi bar that looked at us and didn't come to even see what we wanted or if we want to order. I went to the restroom and my wife sat down waiting for a waiter/waitress to come seat her. She states a waiter walked right past her... no words spoken... then proceeded to go wipe off tables. They are NOT HIBATCHI- as there are now ZERO hibatchi tables. We ordered the hibatchi for 2, my husband was going to get chicken, and I steak. The lady waiting on us didn't speak any English so you can't ask any questions. She also didn't ask how I wanted my steak cooked. Red flags. Our salad came out and the dressing is bottled and not the usual ginger dressing you get at hibatchi places. Then the food came out, it was steak, chicken and shrimp all mixed together on some of the worst fried rice I've ever seen. Don't even consider that they serve the yum yum and ginger dressings to dip it in like you typically get at a true hibatchi restaurant. They also don't have adult cocktails except beer. Never do I write reviews, but... here we are. Pulled up tonight around 8:30. Door + online both say 10 PM close on Fridays & Saturdays. And unless my calendar is also lying, today is Saturday. So we do the responsible thing and walk in first to make sure y'all are seating because we had to unload a baby, a wheelchair, and four other humans like we're moving. They assure us we can sit 6 for hibachi. Perfect. We unload everyone, get situated, start walking in... and then a lady comes out says "we can't take more," and shuts the door in our face. Listen, if you need to close early, just say that. I respect a "we're done for the night." What I don't respect is letting us unload an entire production crew and THEN deciding you're not taking tables when we're literally stepping inside. 0/10 for the hospitality, 10/10 for the unexpected workout carrying baby gear back and loading a wheelchair back into the car. read more

I ordered the salmon hibachi and spring rolls and my food was delicious. The service was great! They even have a robot that brings out the appetizers. It was surprisingly quiet the day I went, maybe because it was Black Friday and people were out shopping but I enjoyed the peace and how fast our food came out. The food here is always great, and we've been coming here for several years. The sushi is so very fresh and well crafted. The selection is wide and varied and the prices are very reasonable, especially for food of this quality. The service is always wonderful. Reason would tell one to keep this to oneself, but honestly food this good should be experienced by those who can appreciate it. So we went here out of the blue for dinner and had a great time. ABSOLUTELY stuffed when I was walking out of this place had to regroup in the car for a bit prior to driving off lol. But the service was fast and easy going. They do have unlimited sushi or all you can eat for 26 bucks I believe for dinner and 16 for lunch. Seams like a good enough deal but we ate 4 appetizers and knew we wouldn't have gotten our money's worth. So the dumplings were pan fried and kicked ass. The kani salad had a lot of crunchy in it but still great and had all the flavors I love about them. The egg drop soup was also baller. Over-priced crappy rolls. The fish didn't taste fresh and the sauces were too heavy, salty, and mis-matched for the rolls we ordered. The restaurant itself had a faint old smell and torn-up look to the carpet upon entering. The supposed "filet mignon" was a nasty, mushy, and liquidy ground something (I certainly wouldn't call it meat); my partner and I BOTH thought it was a salty-ass sauce (tasted like one too) before we were eventually told it was actually our supposed "filet mignon." They offer an all you can eat sushi menu similar to Ichiban in Ocean Springs However, the quality of food; everything from the freshness to the care of the meal is beyond that of Ichiban. For an all you can eat, this deal can not be beat. They offer less appetizers and such but the sushi was fantastic. I believe there's two soups or three soups you can choose from and 3 or 4 appetizers. They also offer teriyaki entrees in the all you can eat menu. But the hero is obviously the rolls. After perusing on Yelp for about an hour for sushi restaurants, I eventually decided that on a sushi spot I hadn't been to before - Mizu's in Gulfport! Boy am I glad I chose this spot! I can't speak for the hibachi side (although the group of people "hibachi-ing" seemed to have a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoy their meal) I can speak for the sashimi portion. I got the Chirashi meal (assorted sashimi over sushi rice with a side of soup and salad) with a side of avocado, the soup was egg drop. First slurp of the soup and I was already in. They load you up on those crunchies and so I had a fantastic time crunching beats while enjoying that slightly salty slightly eggy flavor. They brought out my entree soon after that and let me tell you, each bite I took from any of the sashimi slices laid out was succulent. Every bite was buttery, sweet, savory, smooth, and had a melt in your mouth feel. Mmmmmm Not only was the food delicious, But I also had the added pleasure of being waited on by an extremely attentive, efficient, and friendly wait staff. I'll definitely be making a trip back, and I will not need to peruse through Yelp for an hour to get there! :) read more

Then we waited for an hour for the cook to even arrive to the table bc they only had one cook for a Friday night. My husband ordered sweet tea and then they ran out so he switched to water. Then we got our sushi after the cook arrived. The food all tasted sweet and the scallops had shell pieces all over it. Then the cook said "here you go, medium steak" and we both ordered rare.. it was medium. I don't have problem with the food but the service they provide is bad! I ordered a house special fried rice to go. I was so naive and trusted them to not check my order! They handed me box of chicken, which I found out when I arrived in my room! I called them for refund and they are so kind to tell me to come back and get my order! My boyfriend's sister suggested we go eat at Mizu's and upon arrival I thought it looked like a typical hole in the wall sushi/hibachi restaurant. Nothing special. The menu was very small but we settled on gyoza for an appetizer. The part that's pinched together was stale, but it tasted good nonetheless and we ate it. I got salad with ginger dressing and it was very tasty as well as the egg drop soup, but the crunchies they put in it were also stale. It tasted good, so I ate it anyway and didn't say anything. For our entrees, my boyfriend got chicken teriyaki and I got the highway 49 roll. The seaweed on my roll was so stale and chewy that I couldn't break it up and it kept choking me. And so I pushed it to the end of the table and just shared my boyfriend's food. Our server came over to our table and asked if anything was wrong with the sushi and I told her. Then she apologized and offered to get me something else. I declined and told her I'd eat my boyfriend's teriyaki. She then took the plate and told me she'd take it off the bill. I thanked her and told her I know it wasn't her fault. I didn't complain, didn't get an attitude, or anything. 5 minutes later, the owner comes out of the back and is audibly complaining about how I sent my food back. He's complaining and literally calling me names loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear. He then comes over to me and says 'Our seaweed is fresh, you just didn't like the sushi but I'm going to take it off the bill for you anyway', with a huge attitude. At this point I was humiliated. Up until that point, I wasn't upset about anything and was extremely polite. I didn't even ask to get it taken off, our server offered. Our server apologized and I again made sure to tell her I knew it wasn't her fault and asked for boxes and the check. I tipped her well and left. I work in a restaurant, so I am very understanding when it comes to a bad dining experience. This, on the other hand, was ridiculous. I feel awful for our amazing server knowing she has to work under that because if this is how he treats polite customers, I can't imagine how he treats his employees. We came to this place based on yelp and they did not disapoint. My wife has dietary problems with rice but still wanted sushi roll and the server got her roles with soy paper with no problems. Most sushi places make it very difficult to get sushi this way and from Florida to Houston this had to be the easiest time ordering for her. We wanted to smoke and they told us about the patio it was nice like being on a boat. The sushi was very good. We came here on a Wednesday and the fish was so fresh. They were small rolls which I prefer and priced well. We got a bottle of sake the server recommended and it was very delicious. It's kinda out there for us but Def worth the drive.
