When you step up to a station you have everything you need (ingredients, measuring utensils, bowls, etc). And when you're done the employees clean and re-set the station for the next person so fast so you're rarely standing there waiting. * Do the math. It really is cheaper than it seems and, if you're on a tight budget, it's a great way to eat meals with lots of ingredients and spices without buying them and then wasting the leftovers. * Its very clean! The owner is very mindful of keeping things clean throughout the process and I appreciate that. * It's a fun day! Bring some friends and make the most of it - both Dinner Club and downtown LaGrange. I've been going to Dinner Club regularly for about 6 months now and I have no desire to stop. It really is worth trying!

Although, when you stop and really look at the meals they offer, it's clear that they are nutritionally-sound meals probably in the 350-500 calorie range which is a range that's good for me. Just had their Chicken Salsa meal for lunch and it was delicious and included roasted red and green peppers! Every meal has been excellent.

I thought I would try the service for healthier options. When I picked up the food, Chef Beau to…read moreme, "we're running low on containers so we charge a deposit." Deposit was $150. I had no issue with that as I'm sure it makes people return the containers. We did not care for the food and chose not to try the service again. When I returned the glass containers (admittedly a few months later, but they were returned) I was informed that you have to use their service eight times to get the deposit back. This was the first I heard of it because I would never have agreed. Why would I agreed to use a service for eight times before I even know if I liked it?! Chef Beau said that the policy was explained to me in a "myriad if ways". This is simply not true. He is now refusing to return my $150 deposit even though he has his glass containers back. This is theft of my money as he has his property. It's simple - you charge a deposit for an item, the item gets to return you give back the deposit. Do not use the service!

I've ordered from Meal Village a couple times and had great experiences including ordering online…read morewhich was very easy. Both times the food arrived EXACTLY at 4pm and was top quality with good portions for most. My dad recently needs to be on a lower sodium diet so it's nice to provide 1-2 meals per week for him with no commitment- he usually eats only half of the portion per meal and can easily know the sodium content. My wife and I have tried a few of the meals and been happy with everything - sometimes calories and fat/sodium can be a bit higher than my wife prefers for a single meal but you have all the info before ordering. There's always a salmon option, and a recent "Retro Fried Chicken Bowl" was great if slightly unhealthier than ideal but had a nice portion of well cooked chicken and included a fantastic smothered sauce plus the side of applesauce was chunky, flavorful, and just as good as we would make at home. If you don't make your own applesauce this will show you why you should do it. Nothing but positive so far, and prices generally seem consistent with the "ready to cook" options in the market but you have much less packaging waste and don't need to spend a bunch of time cooking and cleaning up which can be nice during the week. Most dishes are 2-3 minutes heating up in the microwave and end up great. Don't get me wrong, we love to cook but I prefer to use my own recipes and for my dad with limited mobility a quick, healthier microwave meal or a "soft food" option is important. And for my wife and me, this is a nice supplement to our weeknight meals. Bravo to a great local business worth supporting!

Back in September, I began searching for a food delivery service for reasons of convenience and to…read morestop myself from eating so much! The criteria were: (1) good food, (2) portion controlled entrees, and (3) reliable delivery. Early in 2010 my favorite food delivery company sadly went out of business. My first rebound was with Choice Eating, which proved to serve tasteless and sometimes inedible dishes. Fortunately, Eat Like the Pros fits all of my criteria. Here's the process: Their website lists all of the entrees (breakfast, lunch/dinner, snacks) that are available during a specific week (the menu changes weekly). Each item is available in different portions (ex. 300, 600 calories, etc.) that you can choose from. After you choose your items via their website, your delivery is at the front door around 5:30 a.m. It's that simple; you never have to wait for a delivery guy. Most importantly, the food is spectacular. It's like having your own personal chef where YOU get to choose what you want to eat (instead of having one prefix menu). My favorite entrees include the beef stew, thai coconut chicken, and the brisket. I highly recommend this service for busy professionals or those who need a little portion control to lose weight.

This plan also was 3 meals a day for 7 days. I felt horrible wasting food if I had a dinner planned. So, I started the search for an alternative meal program and found Eat Like the Pros. The delivery dates are Monday (order by 10am Friday) and Thursday (order by 10am on Monday). I am so impressed with the quality of food. Everything is flavorful and fresh. There are plenty of options in each category: entrees, veggies, starches, breakfast, snacks, etc. And a variety of calorie counts depending on what your need is. Everything has been delicious and made me think...how did they get all of that flavor into a 225 calorie piece of fish or chicken. They deliver the food in a cooler bag with ice packs. You leave your bag out the night of a deliver and the driver swaps out the empty bag with ice packs for a bag with food & ice packs. Very simple. They deliver (usually) by 6am. I think the cost is reasonable for the quality of the food and compared to some of the other organic programs. There is no minimum order. I tend to use Eat Like the Pros more for dinner meals, some lunches, and snacks. I am on my own for breakfast and some lunches. I am very happy and excited to try new meals. The other positive is this program is gluten free and soy free. The prior plan I was on included a lot of breads and pastas. I do eat gluten...but it is much more limited now. I feel so much better on this program and have more consistent energy. Highly recommend!
