This was so much fun. We took a macaron class as a family. My kids are 9 and 12. They had a ton of fun and they can pretty much do everything themselves. There was one kid there even younger and he did most of it himself too. The instructor gives a nice balance of background of the food and the how. They also do a great job prepping things for you. so you spend all your time assembling the recipe instead of measuring things out for half the class.

This place was so much fun! I immediately signed up for their pie class after doing the macaron class. My only complaint is I wish there was a way for single attendees to not have to share a batter and doing the different steps. It was open to a variety of all ages and people brought their kids and family to the macaron class. Everything was pre portioned and she explained so much along the way. For years I have been struggling to make my macarons come out nice and this was the sole reason I did the class (but everyone else was a beginner). Turns out she had some pretty great tips that they came out so good and I went home and even made a second batch! I love the flavor variety as well and that there was a nice package to take everything through. Good price for what you get as well. Such a fun and sweet class!

Came back recently for a pasta and pesto making class. Highly recommend! You walk away thinking how easy is this! But definitely appreciate all the tidbits and tips the instructor offers to help you along the way. This class was BYOB so that's always a nice added bonus to enjoy a nice glass of wine while making fresh pasta! Small class size, well organized, and great clear instructions. I love the set up around one big island. So many options for classes and we love being able to look ahead at their online calendar to see what's new or coming up. Because it's an intimate setting - our class was 12 - they do fill up fast. This class made for a great gift for my mom and kids. Amazing learning experience!

Had such a blast taking a French Macroon class. I have loved these little cookies forever. I love cooking but such a horrible baker. I have been a fan of this school for awhile but never made the firm commitment to buckle down and try a class. The location is so nice and tidy. Everything is organized so neat. Instruction provided was good. Verbal and written recipes were reviewered before we started. Lots of options to place individualize take on recipe. I would recommend this school to anyone that like to learn and cook. Will be back for instant pot class.

Very clean with a nice atmosphere. I did the macaroon class and everyones macaroons came out perfect. We got to pick her own colors and flavors. Just an FYI they team up with somebody so you may want to take a friend or spouse but not needed

My boyfriend and I took the Cuban Empanadas class last night with Shawn and had a fantastic time! We cook a fair amount, but empanadas were definitely not in our wheelhouse. Marcy and Shawn laid everything out for us and made the whole class fun and easy. Even if you don't know your way around a kitchen at all, they seem happy to walk you though all the steps. Their enthusiasm for cooking is infectious and you can tell they love what they do. The empanadas were absolutely AMAZING! I'm so glad Mix is in our community, and can't wait to check out some other classes here.

Marcy is a great instructor. This is just a fun way to spend time with a spouse or a friend. We made the dough, flattened in the mixer attachment and made homemade ravioli. We made 2 dozen each, which we took home for the next nights dinner. You can also freeze. Everything was set up and easy to follow. She had things seperated into individual bowls for covid. I can make ravioli at home. A fun experience. Thanks Marcy and Mix!

I had a very good time during my one class, however it has been extremely difficult ever since. My mother had two unfortunate events due to scheduling confusion. Recently, my wife booked a class for two and received an email the following day stating it was an error and another reservation was needed. I asked my wife to contact the owner before disputing, however it has been impossible to contact the owner on several occasions. Now we have to contact our bank and the BBB which is very disappointing and should be completely unnecessary.

We did part of my bachelorette here and it was so fun! We learned how to make macarons. We did a private party so it was just me and my friends there and we can't wait to come back!

There just aren't enough positive things that I can say about Mix Cooking School. I've taken two classes here so far. The first was a gnocchi class with my two daughters (10 and 14) and we had a really good time and walked away with awesome recipes and the confidence to make this wonderful dish on our own. We made regular potato gnocchi as well as sweet potato gnocchi. What can I say other than YUM! After that I was so impressed I booked a team building event and it was so very well enjoyed and appreciated by all! We brought our own wine and enjoyed some casual time before jumping into our pasta making class. We also made a salad and a dessert. Then we enjoyed what we made. It was a blast and the dinner was fabulous! Fabulous event, wonderful host! Will definitely be back again!

I found this school on Facebook. I noticed it had classes for kids. My 9 year old daughter has attended several. I have also attended several. All classes have been great and my daughter has enjoyed them. Best macaroons I have ever tasted! Also, the Instapot class was great. I was worried about getting one, but I feel confident now that I can use it. Makes cooking very easy and the teachers are great! We keep coming back! If you are looking for something creative for your child that also incorporates life skills this is a great option!

We took the macaroon class and loved it! It was no stress, everyone's macaroons came out perfect and tasted great. Honestly, better than the macaroon class we took at Sur La Table. Maybe bring a pen to write down extra details on the recipe sheet as the instructor had great tips. I plan to take some of their other classes. And they offer classes for kids. Such a fun place.

We had already attended the frys on shea baking night making scones where we just helped the chef... It was more an informational class to sit across the bar because I suppose their insurance doesn't allow you to really get involved there. Other courses in the valley are larger scale classrooms with more students where you won't get as involved and you may as well watch a video online for free. I have to say when I talked to Maggie about how the structure was and if we cooked or helped, I was happy to hear that her response was "oh, I give you an intro and sample how to make things but you're doing the prep and the cooking." She gave an intro that is great for beginners and culinary experts alike. Pay attention during her review of recipes though, because the rest of the class will be sharing your dish when you are done preparing it. The kitchen environment allowed for plenty of room for six people in our class to both cook and move around safely as well as plenty of preparation knives, cutting boards, measuring and mixing bowls, A beautiful set of all clad cookware and a gorgeous Viking 6 top gas grill. If you're concerned that it needs to be a professional kitchen for classes I'd say she and her husband setup the kitchen in a professional manner. My wife and I absolutely loved our date night, the prep work together and with the other classmates, and the food to top it off was awesome! My advice to this : Be hungry- there will be a ton of food to enjoy! Bring wine :) Take notes so you can make the dishes again at home. Thank you Maggie!

The institute is a school, and you will be served food by students prepared by students. At the end of the meal you will get a short form asking your opinion of the meal and service. The school has its own way of doing things. Please be patient with them, they are students. For example they will not seat incomplete parties. You can be less patient with established restaurants that do the same things. The service is fine the students personable. Despite our group ordering almost one of everything, the execution was timely. No one complained that any of it was bad. We were served, without choice a seared Tuna appetizer. Some in our party did not care for anything close to raw, and were unhappy. Soup followed, of which the Gazpacho, (a cold soup) was excellent. They served a Pasta dish of bucatini: with heavy cream and panchetta. It was done to perfection, with the pasta being almost aldente and the pancetta lightly browned on one side. Other selections were chicken, short ribs and salmon. Prices varied but not very much. Expect to pay $30 plus tip and drink. Some items were a little less. The meal included a dessert of German Chocolate cake, which was thick and dark, permeated by coconut and abounded with a thick frosting. Coffee is served on request. What's served is what I call "ingredients food": it's flavor come from the ingredients themselves. Little technique is required. although technique was required for the Gazpacho. Salmon or Short ribs need steady cooking, and they had no adornments. You must know how to cook them. The how is simple, because baking is the one method. This is a really good place to go. Aside from having a very good meal you help others. Life as a Guinie Pig is not so bad at the Arizona Culinary Institute. Lunch anyone?
