I tried making macarons at home once and it fell flat... literally. It's one of those amazing baked goods that requires a class to learn how to do it right, and Mix Cooking School provides the best instruction for it! My husband and I had such a wonderful time! Marcy taught us that process and oven temps are everything for macarons to come out perfect. She gave us useful baking tips I never would have thought of (and I bake a lot) and made us feel as though we were naturals at the process. There were a variety of colors and flavors to choose from and each of us walked away with our own dozen macarons to enjoy at home. It was the best two hours we could have spent yesterday evening and we can't wait to sign up for more of her classes! read more

Loved our cooking decorating class - perfect time for Christmas cookie decorating! Learned lots of great tips for making and storing the dough, baking the cookies, making the icing, and decorating the cookies. I would have loved to see the whole process of making the icing, but I appreciated the extra time decorating since that is what we were there for. Such cute Christmas cookie designs and Jenaye was a great teacher during the decorating! We made two different wreaths, reindeers, and Christmas trees. So much fun! We did stay a little past two hours so plan accordingly! read more

This was so much fun. We took a macaron class as a family. My kids are 9 and 12. They had a ton of fun and they can pretty much do everything themselves. There was one kid there even younger and he did most of it himself too. The instructor gives a nice balance of background of the food and the how. They also do a great job prepping things for you. so you spend all your time assembling the recipe instead of measuring things out for half the class. read more

This place was so much fun! I immediately signed up for their pie class after doing the macaron class. My only complaint is I wish there was a way for single attendees to not have to share a batter and doing the different steps. It was open to a variety of all ages and people brought their kids and family to the macaron class. Everything was pre portioned and she explained so much along the way. For years I have been struggling to make my macarons come out nice and this was the sole reason I did the class (but everyone else was a beginner). Turns out she had some pretty great tips that they came out so good and I went home and even made a second batch! I love the flavor variety as well and that there was a nice package to take everything through. Good price for what you get as well. Such a fun and sweet class! read more

Ambiance, food, service -everything was outstanding. Had the pasta made at table side in the cheese wheel and the lobster special. The cocktails were fabulous too! read more

Came back recently for a pasta and pesto making class. Highly recommend! You walk away thinking how easy is this! But definitely appreciate all the tidbits and tips the instructor offers to help you along the way. This class was BYOB so that's always a nice added bonus to enjoy a nice glass of wine while making fresh pasta! Small class size, well organized, and great clear instructions. I love the set up around one big island. So many options for classes and we love being able to look ahead at their online calendar to see what's new or coming up. Because it's an intimate setting - our class was 12 - they do fill up fast. This class made for a great gift for my mom and kids. Amazing learning experience! read more

Had such a blast taking a French Macroon class. I have loved these little cookies forever. I love cooking but such a horrible baker. I have been a fan of this school for awhile but never made the firm commitment to buckle down and try a class. The location is so nice and tidy. Everything is organized so neat. Instruction provided was good. Verbal and written recipes were reviewered before we started. Lots of options to place individualize take on recipe. I would recommend this school to anyone that like to learn and cook. Will be back for instant pot class. read more

Loved the Macaron class! I was pretty intimidated with the idea of making macarons. The instructor walked us through the process, gave us tips and made it a fun class. I'm more confident about trying them on my own. Thanks!!! read more

My husband and I took the Gnocchi class last night and we had a great time! Marcy explained everything and took us through each step of the process. Her guidance was so helpful. Our class had 12 students with each person getting their own supplies. This class provided us with as unique experience that we could share. We sampled some of our own Gnocchi during class and then had more to take home for later. Knowledge and dinner prep. It was fun! read more

My boyfriend and I took the Cuban Empanadas class last night with Shawn and had a fantastic time! We cook a fair amount, but empanadas were definitely not in our wheelhouse. Marcy and Shawn laid everything out for us and made the whole class fun and easy. Even if you don't know your way around a kitchen at all, they seem happy to walk you though all the steps. Their enthusiasm for cooking is infectious and you can tell they love what they do. The empanadas were absolutely AMAZING! I'm so glad Mix is in our community, and can't wait to check out some other classes here. read more

Marcy is a great instructor. This is just a fun way to spend time with a spouse or a friend. We made the dough, flattened in the mixer attachment and made homemade ravioli. We made 2 dozen each, which we took home for the next nights dinner. You can also freeze. Everything was set up and easy to follow. She had things seperated into individual bowls for covid. I can make ravioli at home. A fun experience. Thanks Marcy and Mix! read more

I had a very good time during my one class, however it has been extremely difficult ever since. My mother had two unfortunate events due to scheduling confusion. Recently, my wife booked a class for two and received an email the following day stating it was an error and another reservation was needed. I asked my wife to contact the owner before disputing, however it has been impossible to contact the owner on several occasions. Now we have to contact our bank and the BBB which is very disappointing and should be completely unnecessary. read more

I took the pasta and pesto class and it was great! The location is clean and the instructor is very friendly. She even gave tips of where to purchase ingredients, tools, etc. and wasn't expecting students to pay an arm and a leg to get the items. Everything you need for the class is provided, they start on time, and make sure the group is small enough so everyone can interact and receive the instruction that is needed to have a great end product! There just aren't enough positive things that I can say about Mix Cooking School. I've taken two classes here so far. The first was a gnocchi class with my two daughters (10 and 14) and we had a really good time and walked away with awesome recipes and the confidence to make this wonderful dish on our own. We made regular potato gnocchi as well as sweet potato gnocchi. What can I say other than YUM! After that I was so impressed I booked a team building event and it was so very well enjoyed and appreciated by all! We brought our own wine and enjoyed some casual time before jumping into our pasta making class. We also made a salad and a dessert. Then we enjoyed what we made. It was a blast and the dinner was fabulous! Fabulous event, wonderful host! Will definitely be back again! read more

I found this school on Facebook. I noticed it had classes for kids. My 9 year old daughter has attended several. I have also attended several. All classes have been great and my daughter has enjoyed them. Best macaroons I have ever tasted! Also, the Instapot class was great. I was worried about getting one, but I feel confident now that I can use it. Makes cooking very easy and the teachers are great! We keep coming back! It was good but i don't like how you had to share spots with people. I came for the macaron class

We took the macaroon class and loved it! It was no stress, everyone's macaroons came out perfect and tasted great. Honestly, better than the macaroon class we took at Sur La Table. Maybe bring a pen to write down extra details on the recipe sheet as the instructor had great tips. I plan to take some of their other classes. And they offer classes for kids. Such a fun place. read more

BEWARE of Mix Cooking School in Chandler they would rather have you there with a fever vs reschedule you. My daughter was supposed to use a gift to mix cooking school today and she woke with a fever. I tried to call and see if I could reschedule but needed to leave a message. I tried again and left another message to see if I could reschedule since my daughter had a fever. The time for the class passed and I didn't send her feeling that would have been irresponsible. Finally after emailing Mix Cooking school I heard they would not reschedule her for a different day due to needing 3 days notice for cancels. I was very disappointed and surprised they would have preferred my daughter to show up with a fever. BEWARE this is not a Covid aware policy. Mom of a disappointed 12 year old. read more

My daughter bought a gift certificate for the two of us for my birthday. I arranged for the two of us to attend a bread making class. In March I received my first covid injection and consequently suffered some severe reactions to the vaccine. As such I left a message to cancel the class but not with a 3 day notice and she refused to let me book another class to use it in the future. I explained that I didn't choice to become ill but Marcy said I would have to pay for another class. Considering what this country has gone through in the last 12 months I find this to be lacking in compassion and simple courtesy. I will recommend to everyone I know to stay away from this place. I had an unexpected death in my family; which Mix Cooking School would not accommodate my unforeseen circumstances and not credit for another class due to their strict 3 day (72 hour policy). They would only allow us to transfer the seats to someone else; which to me is cold hearted. read more

Signed up for the Macaroon class with my daughter and daughters friends. We had such a great time! The owner is so kind and very experienced. Everything from the directions to the process was so easy, clear and laid out for us to follow along and enjoy the process. I really felt that for the cost of the class per person it was really a great deal and a really great experience. I think it would be so fun for birthday parties, dates, girls night ect. You can bring your own beverages (as well as beer and wine) if you would like too which is fun. We want to take all the classes. Going to sign up for the pasta class and cupcake class with my daughter. read more

Took a workshop here tonight to learn how to make beef brisket tamales. Even as a chef myself, this was one dish I never learned how to make and always wanted to for years. They were a lot easier to make than I thought. I never really cared for pico da Gallo. I always it was just "meh." The instructor tonight brought it up to a whole new level. It was fun at the same time to meet the other people in the class, share experiences and come up with new cooking ideas. It was kind of like being at the bar after work without the alcohol. I'm definitely looking forward to taking more classes. Even as a chef, I learned new things. Highly recommend trying it out. read more

I just took a chocolate winter-themed cutout sugar cookie class here with my daughter. I've been to lots of cookie decorating classes, but I especially liked this one because we actually got to roll out the dough, cut out the cookies, and watch the instructor make the Royal icing. The cookies baked while she was making the icing. The instructor was very thorough and made things easy to understand. The only thing I think that would make the classes even better is if they either had a mirror on the ceiling or a video screen so you can see what the instructor is doing better. As it is, students have to crowd around her to see what she's doing, when she's doing something that you have to be close-up to see. I would highly recommend this class, and I'm looking forward to talking more classes here. They have lots to choose from! read more

Went to a green corn tamale class last night and had a great time. Pro: The instructor was excellent and there were 2 other people to help, which is great for a class of 10. Also, there was lots of room and equipment and we weren't packed in like sardines like some other schools. Seating was surprisingly comfortable. Lots of conversation and 100% hands on. I took home about 8 delicious tamalies and a great recipe. The instructor also gave us lots of tips from the best Mexican grocery store, to where to get knives sharpened, to the most authentic Mexican restaurants. I had a great time and I will come back. Cons: Very hard to find. I drove around in the parking lot for about 20 minutes and called, but it went to voicemail. Also emailed and no response. When I mentioned this to the owner she brushed me off with "yes we're hard to find but I always tell people we're right on the corner." Well the whole enormous plaza is right on the corner!! They are tucked away in a satellite building (one of many) off of the main strip and neither google maps nor imaps gets close. Recipe was pretty sparse and needed quite a bit of fleshing out, especially the directions. Also, the instructor made a delicious pico de gallo but the recipe wasn't written down at all, so bring a pen. Overall, great class but definitely a business which needs a bunch more customer focus. read more

I have been giving one of my granddaughters gift certificates to Mix cooking school for the last three years. She has really enjoyed them. My daughter recently enrolled her in a class using the gift certificate. On the day of the class, my granddaughter woke up with a fever. My daughter tried calling the school a couple of times and also emailed them, letting them know she had a fever. They e-mailed back saying their policy is that they need to be notified 3 days in advanced or we could send someone else in my granddaughter's place. Since she didn't know that my granddaughter was going to have a fever that day, it was impossible to tell them 3 days in advance and this was a gift to my granddaughter so replacing her was not an option. My daughter could have sent her exposing the other students but she was being responsible. Too bad the school didn't have the responsibility to do what was right!! read more

Good start, but going down. I have done a few classes and they were all fun, probably a four star. They had a class in August for Cannoli's, i knew my friend would enjoy it so i checked with her and decided it would be an early Xmas present. I went to the site a day later and the class was GONE! no information nothing. You cannot call them as there is NO phone number. I emailed them and got NO ANSWER. Sadly that is not good business and both myself and especially my friend are disappointed. Back to Sur La Table classes, more expensive but reliable! read more

What an amazing experience!!!! It was a Greek/Mediterranean meal all prepared in the cutest kitchen. It felt like we were is someone's loving home. Marcia's passion and knowledge for cooking and teaching is contagious and made the experience enjoyable and full of information. The ingredients were fresh (even picking parsley and mint from fresh plants) and the combination of spices was delicious. We made a main dish, several side dishes, and even dessert! She makes cooking feel so effortless you leave feeling like you can conquer any recipe! We made so much food, we got to take some home! We prepared our dishes on a spacious counter and, when our food was ready, we all sat down at a big table and enjoyed our freshly made meal together! She provided sparkling water and you can BYOB. Highly recommend!!! read more

Nice class for couples who don't really know cooking. Took my kids to a pizza class today advertised for teenagers and half the class was mostly under 12. My kids are 13 and 15 and felt awkward.
