This is now renamed to V-show. If you're Chinese it may be okay, but I cannot recommend it. The songs are all ordered according to Pinyin (this includes English songs). Therefore, it is impossible to search for anything in English. Furthermore, the English song selection is missing huge numbers of popular songs - it seems they have only ordered karaoke mix packs including less popular songs from English artists. Not only is it extremely difficult to find English songs, but it is a very poor song menu. You're better off going to Gal Chae Karaoke a couple blocks away. read more

English song selection are better than the one next to The One Restaurant. A large portion of their new english songs have their music video on the back ground. Warning: this is a chinese karaoke place, so don't expect the english song selection to be as much as you think it will be. They have mostly english pop songs and they continue to add more pop songs every now and then. Rates are not too bad. We went when it was all you can sing. There's a charge for $5 for 1-3 people. So we ordered 2 drinks to cover that charge, which you'll probably need when you sing for 3 to 4 hours. They don't have a booze licence, which is a good thing since rooms don't smell. read more

A group of girlfriends and I came here for the karaoke portion of my friend's Staggette last night. Seems like Mix 2 is a fairly new business. The interior of the space and rooms look newly furnished and clean. Our experience: I really wanted to give this place 4 stars because we all really enjoyed ourselves but... there were a few instances that lost them a star. -- When you book a room you are charged by the hour. None of us had ever been to Mix 2 so we didn't know how to start the process of selecting songs on their system. For one the remote to select the songs was not in English. I realize that the majority of their clientele are multilingual. But for those of us who are not, wasted time that we're paying for trying to figure out how to make our song selections. When the clerk brought us to our room she basically took for granted that we knew how to use the system, put the remote on the table and left not even asking us if we were familiar with how their system worked. After about 10 minutes of trying to figure it out ourselves we had to go and ask one of the clerks to come back and show us how to enter a song selection. -- The room they gave us was pretty small for 7 people not all of us (me) were able to sit on the banquette seat and had to sit on a stool (I know boo hoo), which means you don't get the same experience as everyone else. Plus due to the fact that there were so many of us in the small room it became really warm & stuffy in the room. One of the girls went out to ask for water... $3 for bottle water and $2.50 for TAP WATER! eesh! We went for the bottled water anyways. -- Each time the same clerk came to our room (once to show us how to use the machine and to give us the water we ordered) we politely thanked her but she never gave any response/acknowledgment to our "thank you" (each time she came to our room) nor did she make any eye contact, maybe I'm being kind of nitpicky (?) in this aspect but not to acknowledge your clientele showing you good manners and appreciation for your efforts is kind of rude. All in all, we made it fun and we did have a good time. I would give this place a second chance, being that I've only been there once, perhaps they were just having an off night. read more

The only joint i know that has up-to-date songs with the artists real music video U gotta love Karaoke bars... private rooms with black lights large screens and 3 binders full of Chinese and English songs, and even a menu where you can order bubble tea and other shit.. .. When you walk in, everything looks pretty clean., A cute lil Asian Hostess walks you and your party to your room where you pic your favorite top 40 jams and pretend to be famous K pop star and try to empress your date with your fine set of pipes! or has this happened to you? someone picks 5 or 6 songs and when it comes time for their turn, they totally flake out and pawn the song to the next person.... girl 1: "no no no i can't, you sing it!!" girl 2: "no you!! you picked the damn song!!" girl 1: "let's sing it together" girl 2"ok" :D girl 1: "you sing the first verse "I don't know it" girl 2: me neither ME: WTF seriously? It is quite a cute place. The price was not too bad. The worker seemed kind of weirded out, almost unwelcoming. Not very good vibes. The room was small and I wouldn't imagine it being for any more than 5 people. The machine was very confusing and the TV wasn't working properly. Water costs $2.50 and I don't reccomend anything from their menu. My group timed our session very precisely cause we didn't want to be charged for extra minutes. Yes, even though I'm no singer, but an eater, I can vouch for the coolness of this place almost like walking into those showrooms @ new condos lol. that's how easily impressed I get. Didn't know such places existed in this part of 'east' burnaby. pretty reasonable rates, $22/hr for up to 3 ppl. that's enough for me, as i'm there just for the ambience. lots of parking in this shared plaza, with Little Caesar's right next door, and side street parking. read more

Yes, I've to admit that their system are good and plenty of songs to choose from. "BUT" there food and drink are disgusting. I've heard one of the stuff work there says that all the food ingredient and drink syrup or ingredient like grass jelly, pudding, etc...are all expired!! the most shocking is one of the syrup are made by 2012 and the shelf life is 1 yr. so the syrup has expire for almost 2yrs !!... as well as the food!! Don't come here! :( They overcharged us when we were in a smaller room for two hours and then called the cops on us! Who does that!?Their manager and staff were not friendly and they did not fully communicate the rate of the rooms. The song choice is alright and the karaoke rooms are small. The price point for all you can sing is very good, but the experience was not pleasant. I come here quite often because it's the only few karaokes available in Burnaby, but this time around, I had a heated argument with the manager regarding all you can sing prices and regular hourly prices. Normally if you walk in, they would ask whether you want all you can sing or hourly, but she never made the two difference clear, so we assumed we're singing AYCS, but after a few hours she said she's charging us hourly and cannot change the price in the system. I gave her an analogy that a customer orders something in a restaurant that is incorrect, they would be able to change it, but she did not try to understand our side and was blatantly blaming us for misunderstanding her, rather than taking the blame and changing the issue on the system. Horrible service, made the whole experience afterwards very unpleasant. read more

I'm leaving this review as I sit in the place. Literally the worst karaoke place I've ever been to. Half of the songs in the book are "too old" so they don't work. So unless you want top 40 then you're screwed. And they don't bother explaining it to you. Random music keeps playing instead of your songs. Literally don't even deserve 1 star. My girlfriends and I searched the area for a place to sing since our regular place didn't open as early so we decided to try here. As we walked into the establishment, it was clean, nicely lit, and overall had a great interior design. The hostess preceded to ask us what we would like and after choosing an hourly rate (and taking a piece of ID from my friend), showed us a room. The hostess didn't say a peep and went back to her desk. It's a good thing we've been to lots of karaoke places (and the fact that we know how to read Mandarin) because we would've been so lost and wasted time trying to figure out how to use the machine. We thought we wouldn't stay as long but we did so decided to ask if we could switch to all you can sing which the answer was no and is quite understandable (we should've chose more wisely). There is no complementary water! This is the first time I heard of a place that charges for water! About 2-3 hours later, as we were paying, my friend asked if she could have her ID back and the hostess said we had to wait after we finished paying. So when we paid in full with a fair amount of tip, she said we were missing a dollar because we had to pay at least 10% tip (she refused to give my friend's ID back until we did). This wouldn't have been so frustrating if she provided us with service at all. Again, what made us irritated is that she wanted tip for something she didn't do which I feel is a kind of borderline fraud. Did I mention that the only sign that said you must pay at least 10% tip was in Mandarin and on the money tray? There wasn't any sign that stated it when we were going into the establishment nor did the hostess say anything about that to us while we were there. When she handed us the bill, she just pointed at the taped up piece of paper on the tray. If you're thinking of choosing Mix2 as your go-to karaoke place, ONLY GO to the BURNABY ONE! Sometimes we know that we can't expect much out of asian customer service but at the Richmond location, this female manager offers to remind you when your time is up... she came in again and said she'll remind u when your hour is up, this was her way of getting you to pay more cause you went overtime. The richmond location has a horrible manager, she never apologized and explained we still have to pay the full bill when she even admit it was her mistake. this manager can't even take responsibility! we told her we'll pay for our drinks, and the hour we said we were just staying for. She yelled at us and literally told us to SHUT UP and listen to her cause she's talking. Our time was just a few minutes over and she wanted to charge us when she said she'll remind us twice. She threaten to call the police and obviously we agreed to because this was just a scam. She apparently "called" the police and the phone rang for 40 seconds and no one picked up.... are there no police working? She angrily said, " I'm not going to waste my time calling the phone the whole time, i'll just pay the extra from my OWN money and you pay the rest." Please everyone, just AVOID the Richmond location. To manager: if you're going to talk big and pull on this whole show, at least stick to it and have it make sense. We understand people make mistakes and we would've paid the extra happily if you sincerely apologize that you did say you'll remind us twice and you forgot. Take some responsibility on your own actions and for your company because you're working and not in the back alley trying to start a gang fight. read more

The waitress did not know anything, I ask her to make the echo louder, she even did not know what the echo is. Before you go into the room, they did not mention the All You Can Sing( which is much better deal) option at all, only say is 22$ per hour, so when we finish, they forced us to pay at the hourly rate, and told us that we could not choose the All You Can Sing rate because we did not say at the beginning. I feel so bad, they take advantage to charge us much more! read more
