During my consultation, he was extremely thorough and addressed all of my concerns in a very genuine and professional manner. He wasn't just in and out in 2 seconds, we actually spoke at length about my problem, he brought up various options on how to deal with it, and was meticulous about explaining all the pros and cons in regards to all the possible treatments. I was very happy with my experience at his office. The staff was friendly and efficient and parking is available in the same building, which is a plus because I hate driving around looking for street parking. The office also validates parking so you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for it. I was parked from 2:20pm to 4pm for about $4. Minus one star because of the wait. I'm a new patient and my appointment was at 2:45pm. I arrived 20 minutes early to fill out necessary paperwork, but wasn't seen until sometime after 3:30pm. The staff and the doctor were very apologetic and explained that they had some emergency cases that backed them up. Sh** happens, I guess. There's really nothing I could do about that in such a situation. I'm just against waiting more than 30 minutes for any appointment I've arrived on time for. I'd say he was worth the wait, though.

He treated me with the utmost courtesy and respect and ordered a test. He explained everything in detail. Dr. Ludmer has such a sweet demeanor, I calmed right down. I was treated very well by everyone in his office. I would recommend this doctor highly to anyone with a heart issue.

So please, Dr. Ludmer, get rid of this woman before you lose my mother and other faithful patients. Remember the Hippocratic oath -- first do no harm.

The procedure/surgery was performed in early May and I have completed my 3 month blanking period and just saw him in follow-up. I couldn't be more pleased that I am lucky enough to have him as my electro-cardiologist. While I am sure there are many very capable electro-cardiologists out there, Dr. Kang is, by reputation and personal experience, a cut above. What he does is part science and part art - you either got it or you don't and he's got it. I am hopeful that my AFib is gone for good but I am grateful for the time and effort he put into my surgery and it's so far favorably outcome. He is also a good communicator and actually follows his patients. It certainly helps that he has such high caliber PAs at his group. Messages through the Sutter app are promptly responded to with the responses typically complete and informative. I have had office visits with just a PA and leave feeling like I saw a Cardiologist such is the caliber and training of the PA staff there. Even the medical assistants are top notch. Frankly, you can't go wrong with any of the cardiologists at this group right across the street from Summit Alta Bates Hospital in Oakland but they have a couple of real stars in Dr. Kang and my regular cardiologist, Dr. Johnson. Prior review: I was recently referred to Dr. Kang by my cardiologist for an ablation that is upcoming in May. I have only praise for his clear and forthcoming responses and guidance in my two pre-surgical office visits. He is engaging, empathetic and clearly an expert in his field - every one of my Doctors speaks glowingly of him as well. I feel fortunate to have managed to be one of his patients.

I had simply asked to speak to him of an unfortunate morning appt experience where me and another guy-both over 70, who had 10:30 and 10:45 appts, were made to wait while an 11:00 young hispanic man was taken in before us. Woodcox would not even apologize. The 10:30 guy paced back and forth before the recept window and Maria said she "sees him". BTW: we had to listen to her when a hispanic guy came out from his appt and for 10 min she berated him for never learning to speak Spanish. Not office etiquette. When Maria found out that I spoke privately to Woodcox about appt times, she flew into a judgmental rage at me, went into his room and when the two came out she would not make another appt for me but instead said coldly to call her when I got home. It wasn't clear to me at first as she was being vague, sneaky, manipulative that she had gotten Woodcox to drop me as a patient just because I advocated for myself. To do this over such a small issue, the way in which he did it, and to a senior disabled citizen with a workers comp case, ruins my case. There was no care at all for my life and how they were affecting it. He should know better how to end an OWCP case for a person with a partially disabled foot/ankle to get settlement but did not care and just had me hanging on each month coming in so he could collect payment. Now he only sees patients one day a week and paid to be a QME so he has his income set. I should have had partial foot loss settlement, but without his recommendation and exam for that I cant. No matter how many like him, this is also how he is. He really doesn't care about people though he puts on a good act for the money. Too hard to find another OWCP dr for long term injury. Very cruel guy and staff. When they do wrong they turn it on patient.

We have been being cared for by Howard for almost 20 years now.  I don't think I will ever be able…read moreto fully express my gratitude for being matched with Howard.  His calm, chill, confident, straightforward yet caring demeanor has been so well received by my son over the years.   At an early age, he started talking directly to my son versus to us as the parents.   This allowed our son to start taking control of his journey with heart disease.   His expertise in his field has been instrumental in guiding our decisions over the years. He was present during our son's surgeries and was a strong advocate for him.  He has a way about him that is calming to all of us.  When our son was in a bad mental space preceding his 2nd surgery, it was Howard who spent an hour with him, was able to get through to him and got him ready to face what was ahead.  He was a lifesaver.   Howard has always been available to us for anything.  Even now when we have been transferred to adult cardiology,  Howard has been with us through the transition.  He has continued to spend time with our son in order to help guide his next decisions.  Howard is a special man.  He has so much experience and knowledge.  He listens and truly cares.
