Dr.Quinn knows the heart inside and out. If the heart is in trouble he has a path to health!

This is a terribly mismanaged office. I honestly cannot believe it is part of Sutter - the standard of care is so far below that of the other doctors I am used to in CPMC. Dr. Quinn himself is nice and friendly but the actual patient experience from his staff to his responses (or lack thereof) to any follow through is pathetic. I fired Dr. Quinn and am now with a new doctor (Anna Beyer) who I cannot be more happy with! read more

I was highly impressed by Dr. Quinn today when I saw him for my heart condition. He is a highly knowledgeable Dr. who listens intently with compassion as well as a genuine interest in my health history. I was referred by my own doctor, who I have trusted for over 20 years. I was more than satisfied with the care Dr. Quinn exhibited for my unique situation. I can not recommend his services high enough. If there were more than 5 stars available, I would give them to him. First, I need to say that he saved my life by putting in a pacemaker. Also he's an amicable person. But since the surgery, he seems be having a very hard time responding to the few essential messages I and other medical offices have sent him. Going back to the surgery, when he admitted me to the hospital the afternoon before the operation, he forgot to order my regular medication, and forgot to order food. Before the nurses could give me either, they had to chase him down, which took hours. Apparently, he doesn't want to turn the care of his patients over to hospitalists, who normally take responsibility for in-patient care. He may be brilliant and trustworthy in every other way. His staff is really wonderful and try to help get him to respond. read more

This doctor saved my life and did so calmly and competently with very little pain. He performed an angioplasty on me and fixed some very serious problems. He is one of those quietly brilliant and highly competent professionals who conveys warmth and compassion as well. read more

Dr.Quinn and staff are the caliber of medical professionals you want guiding & advising your loved ones. While in Dr. Quinn's office, they found a blockage several years ago on my dad which I believe saved his life. Once I realized he had a Yelp! profile I felt compelled to share our experience. I was referred to Dr. Quinn after having some troubling symptoms and I was impressed with his knowledge and friendliness.

Did not actually see Doctor Quinn in two tries. First attempt I waited well over one hour and saw the PA which was OK. Next time after waiting 30 min past my appointment, then seated and waiting 35 minutes in an overheated room, I asked when I would be see doctor. They could not tell me. So I just left and went elsewhere. At no time did I get any sort of apology. read more

Despite $3,000 in billed services, I never actually met or was seen by Dr. Quinn. Instead, I was "managed' by his assistant, Michelle Gordon-Canning. I wonder if Dr. Quinn know just how incompetently his office is run? After completing several sets of tests, I was told to come back to see Gordon-Canning. I waited in the examination room for 45 minutes and was about to leave when she came in. What emergency held her up? None. The reception desk simply forgot to tell her that I was waiting. Gordon-Canning proceeded to tell me the results of tests, all of which I had already been given by the other doctors and assistants who had performed them. (Gordon-Canning performed none of the tests.) Why had she insisted on an appointment just to deliver this non-information? "We think it's more personal that way," she explained. Duly noted. Then, surprise, a bill for $225 for this useless visit. I guess that's what Dr. Quinn's office means by "personal." read more

The techs are really great, but the doctor is not. I found this man had serious communication problems. I went to another doctor for a second opinion the second doctor said, "Well, Dr. Quinn really blew it." Evidently the holter test which Dr. Quinn said was normal actually had a number of irregularities. I would never go back to Dr. Quinn. read more

Nothing to review other than the lack of a return phone call from him or staff and resetting of new appointment after I was bumped for emergency. Neither of which would encourage me to reach out again. If a doctor is too busy or fails to address your concerns, keep looking. Nothing worse than being ignored when you have questions about your health. read more

HORRIBLE! Dr.Quinn was over an hour late for our first appt. When I mentioned I have hyperpots he didnt seem to know what I was even talking about. So he put a 24 monitor on me. I had to take two buses and bart to get back to his office to drop it back off the next day. They NEVER called back. EVER. I called the office for 6 Weeks and was told every time that somebody would call me back. Never even bothered to give me my results. read more

I was referred to Dr. Quinn by my primary care physician in El Cerrito. I definitely liked his staff, who administered needed tests, and I found the doctor very confidence inspiring. He is obviously very thorough and strikes the right balance, neither overwhelming the patient with technical jargon, nor talking to them - in my case me and My daughter - as though they were not very bright ten-year- olds. I will certainly go back to him should I require further cardo-vascular attention. read more

I was referred by primary care physician (heart mumur). Appt. was made quickly, staff was great when I had to reschedule. He asked a lot of ?'s and was able to retrieve a pretty good background on my health history. I had to get an echogram on my heart , that was scheduled the next week. Follow-up from the echo was quick over the phone cause I didn't want to travel to Oakland just for results. I think Quinn is your average doctor pretty ok. read more

My GP referred me to Dr. Quinn and wife wife and I have been impressed. I found him and his staff to be quite professional. He explained my condition after running tests. His communication was clear, concise, and as jargon-free as possible. His questions of me were good and showed concern (and yes, there is less eye contact today since doctors DO type into computers during appointments). My appointments have begun on time with one exception caused by a medical emergency he attended to at Summit Medical Center -- and I was kept informed of this by his staff. I would not hesitate to refer a friend to him. read more

Dr. Quinn is very thorough. He makes sure every test is done and completed before he says anything, although if you ask questions he answers while letting you know this is a general statement. Having to see a Heart Doctor can be very intimidating. Dr. Quinn has a gentle, professional manner that puts one at ease. While you wonder if some Doctors read your chart at all, you know He almost does a study of your chart before speaking to you. His questions go straight to you as you and not some generic species. His explanations are clear and understandable (direct when need be) but never harsh. His office staff has to be one of the most remarkable group of people I have had the pleasure to deal with in a Medical Office setting. Make sure you ask about costs before you visit this office! I had a 30 - 45 minute office visit with the Physician's Assistant, Michelle Gordon-Canning (an appointment she was almost an hour late for) at which she asked me some questions and took my blood pressure. For that appointment, I was charged $591. I've learned my lesson. I certainly won't be going to Dr. Quinn's office again, and I won't go to any doctor without asking about costs up front. read more

I've seen Dr. Quinn for 1 year following afib event. I found him top quality, extremely thorough, calm, focused, good at explaining things. I had electrocardiograms at every apptment and was told results on the spot. Never waited in the office. Although all his staff were fine and his tech were fine, too, what I care about most is -- does this Dr know what he's doing? I thought he was terrific -- a little serious, but then if you've got a heart problem you want someone serious. My husband saw him, too, for a different problem and Dr Quinn treated it, then made an appropriate referral and the problem is now fixed. read more

Excellent Cardiologist. He informs you of what will do, keeps you informed as he does it, and debriefed you once he completes it. I am very impressed with him. He handles procedures out of Alta Bates-Sumitt Hospital in Oakland. read more

I've been a patient for awhile and I'm been satisfied. They are office partners with an arrhythmia specialist (shares some office space a few days a week) so you can have your 'pacemaker' check and cardiologist visit in one trip. Dr Quinn has contacts at Stanford if you need major surgery (re: getting it going / contacting the right people is easy). He is attached to the hospital next door if you need minor (less than a transplant) things. As to the complains in the other reviews (which prompted me to write this btw).. you want one Dr to be reading all the reports to see the big picture / know exactly what is going on with you. Also; most people (that would be me too) are scared to not see their cardiologist frequently when going through something like heart failure treatment. When Dr Quinn's people were suggesting I didn't need to come in as often (maybe once every three months instead of once a month) I was the one worried about it. I definitely didn't feel they were pushing for extra visits. Also; my insurance company also wanted me to have regular visits. They'd mail me letters and call all the time to make sure I was in regular contact with a Dr for my heart issue... so I think regular visits are standard procedure. read more

I have been very disappointed with Dr. Quinn's follow up. He just doesn't return calls - for days. His charting is all electronic, so he types all your information while you talk to him about your symptoms - the result is that he doesn't look at you. Very disconnected. On 2 different occasions he didn't have the results available on his electronic charts when I came in for follow up. Plan on waiting 45 minutes after your appointment time to actually see him. He ran a lot of tests, for which I'm sure he was well paid by the insurance company, ultimately finding no cause for the problem. He prescribed a medication which ended up causing some new complications: when I told him about the new symptoms and how I thought it was related to the new medication, he said "that didn't make any sense". Well, check the internet Dr. Quinn- after leaving your office I did a little research, and yes- diuretics can cause gout. Thanks for nothing. read more
