The stylist is not professional at all. She always asked me a looooot of questions about how I wanted my hair looks like. I felt like I am not a professional hair stylist, but you are. I've already said please choose the style that fit my face. (My old hair stylist always cut my hair without asking a lot of questions and I always got a fantastic looking and I love it. ) Finally I am not satisfied with the result either. Mitrano's get 5 stars easily in my book. I've been going to Matt for over 20 years. He has a great staff, excellent location in downtown Wakefield and is always accommodating. I make the drive to Wakefield simply because I can sit in his chair catch up with him, argue about sports and 15 minutes later have the haircut I am always looking for. I'd recommend calling about 48 hours in advance to make an appointment. He has a large loyal clientele which makes it tough to just walk in during peak hours. read more

I get my eyebrows (expertly) done here and after living/working downtown for years, I can say that they do a MUCH better job on an eyebrow wax than ANY of the chic salons I've spent my money at prior (sorry Giuliano!). So glad I found this place! After a previous salon kept messing up my color, I got a referral from a friend to check out Mitrano's. I saw Sue, who fixed my color and gave me roots that actually matched the rest of my hair (finally!). Went back again for a touchup and a cut, both of which came out great. She didn't have much to work with but somehow made me look beautiful! For that, she is my hero! Not only does she do a great job with my hair, she's fun to talk with. Here's an update on Mitranos. Still fabulous! They moved to Reading a few months ago, but it's just down the street with ample parking which is a nice change for those who drive there. The new space is large and bright, and Matt and Adele have quickly made it their own. I'm amazed how they move around between multiple customers (and each other!) like a well choreographed dance routine. Since I wrote the original review 7 years ago, I've added eyebrow & lip waxing to my routine there and Adele does a wonderful job. I've got cervical issues which can make being pushed and pulled quite painful, but she's always gentle and suggests areas that need attention that I can't see. I am NEVER going back to tweezers! She uses a special, gentle wax for the face (different from what's used on legs) which never has given me any problems. Matt is still Matt - and is certainly the only hair dresser I've ever been to who you can discuss football with! And they still keep the cape thingy for upright washing right there in the new salon, which I appreciate SO much. There's always something to munch on - even if it's interesting hard candies or something like that. Today there were homemade cookies (baked by Matt!) - yum! All in all a successful transition with no changes at all except location and a smaller space. Thanks, Matt & Adele for so many years of awesomeness and here's wishing you many more! read more

I got a nice cut with Diana this morning. I didn't really have to wait; I feel like most places have you sit around for a while. The salon is really bright and sunny inside, with pretty touches like a tin ceiling. It felt like going to a much more expensive place downtown. I really liked my cut, and I feel like Diana really took the time to get it right. I also felt like it was really affordable. Pro tip: their website has a 25% off coupon for first time visitors. Even without thee coupon it would have been a good deal. I will definitely be going back. read more

I went here to get hair and makeup done for my wedding along with my bridal party and family. They were able to accommodate us all and move other standing appointments. They let us bring in food and drinks since we were there all morning. Ally did an absolute fantastic job with my hair and makeup- I don't think I've ever looked that good. Plus she was super fun to have around and chat with. Everyone looked beautiful and everyone in the salon was wonderful to work with. Highly recommended! I just went to Mitranos for the first time and had a great experience! I had Allie and she did a fabulous job. I badly needed a haircut after growing it out for my wedding.
