I've seen alot of negative reviews on here and felt I should share my experience. This took place about a month ago, just to give an accurate time frame. I had my 1 and 2 year old with me while I was shopping and things were going pretty smoothly. We got everything on my list (plus some), and stopped by the deli for something to munch on. The lady behind the counter was very sweet and patient, she interacted with my kiddos, and filled our order without delay. My check out process went smoothly with a checker who was very nice and laughed at my mom humor. Upon loading up kids and unloading my cart, I realized that there were a few items that did NOT make it through checkout. One of the employees saw me heading back with the cart and offered to take it back. I told him he didn't need to worry about it because I was going back in to pay for things I had missed, but he kindly insisted, so I let him. Once inside, I see the that there is a line of 6 people ahead of me at the one open checkout stand. I'm a little concerned because my kids are out in the car and I was hoping to be quick. But I was waiting. Then that same employee who took my cart opened up a second checkout stand for me so I could checkout (knowing my kid situation). It was the sweetest thing and greatly appreciated. I feel bad for those who had bad experiences with Mitchell employees, but all of mine have been pleasant. Thanks employees! Sorry I don't remember your names. read more

Wow, there are a lot of crappy reviews on here. I have had a great experience shopping at Mitchell's. I've been shopping there for several months now on a bi-weekly basis. I've never had an issue with products being expired. I've never experienced the store being dirty. The employees have always been kind and helpful. And I shop there because the prices are great. They've got a good selection on a lot of things. Perspective and expectations dictate quality of life. I'm a graduate student. I live close. And I'm not rich. I feel my time and money are well spent at Mitchell's. The rest of you are unhappy losers. read more

Mitchell's is now part of the Harvest Foods Chain. The Mitchell's Harvest Foods in Cheney off my list. Much of their products are over priced, off brand, or out of date, and the management is among the rudest you will ever encounter. Their floors are covered with broken glass and filth, according to the store manager on duty today. They dictate a dress code for footwear, and tell you to shop at Safeway or WalMart unless you comply with their tyrannical demands. I live in Cheney, but I'm crossing them off my list. I only shop at decent stores where customers come first. read more

I've been working at this store for a lottle over a month and this store is the most disgusting place I have ever been to. During my shift I constantly see flies on food in grocery and in the deli. A coworker of mine told me that the flies have laid eggs on the cameras in the deli before. The store managers are both manipultive and petty and love to ask you tok many questions. I think the real one-star worthy thing about this place is closing every night, staying past for upwards of a half hour and not getting paid for any of the time I spent in the store--WORKING--after hours without pay. The store managers are selfish and I hope they lose all of their workers at once so they finally appreciate the work they do. The current shift manager works way too hard for the pay she's given. read more

The food is fairly priced. One thing I noticed is that there appears to be a very high staff turn over rate (Ive seen up to one new person weekly). I feel bad for the employees as they seem like great people but look miserable working there. read more

Been going to Mitchels for years, went yesterday to grab a couple things, when checking out, the beebopin blond says to me, you look just like a guy who steals stuff from here, because yours wearing a red eagles hat!! My hat I said, she said yep, now mind you this is in front of a lone of people, how embarrassing, I assured her, it wasn't me, mind you, I'm wearing $200 Jean's, $100 dollar jacket, $100 dollar shoes, driving a $14,000 truck, and I go there every day, Maybe you should be retrained as a checker, I've been in hospitality for 45 years and this is bullshit, do you want any customers? We all were masks, I'm in cheney Eagles Strong! Are all people that wear Eagles gear thieves!! Just so many questions for miss be bopping, May need to evaluate whether to shop somewhere new, the crew is really great, too bad an individual can drive a person from a business they own, and spent hundreds at the store weekly, maybe they are doing so well that they don't need business in a corona virus times, sad because the same person who was accusatory towards me, has at least been my checker 20 times, seemed intentional, anyhow, My money spends everywhere, even in a pandemic, so be warned Harvest foods, you may just lose all your customers if you continue w this behavior, At least a talking to your employee, in the art of Customer Service, may be necessary read more

some good items, maybe 15% of items competitively priced. The peppers in produce had wrinkles, the potatoes had things growing out of them. They had a 12 pack of coke/pepsi for $5.95. What? lol That would be almost $12 a 24 pack. Only $5,99 at Safeway and $5 at wal mart for 24 pack. The milk was over a buck and a half more than the convenience store. The service is okay, older cashiers do a great job. Unlike Safeway and other supermarkets. This stores lacked any staff diversity. All white employees all the time. Yesterday, the store actually placed its promotional sign in the middle of the sidewalk. (Not their property.) Blocking wheelchair and pedestrians from walking by. They do have great prices at outdoor soda machines, You can get a western family 12 oz soda can for a quarter and a coke can I believe for only 50 cents There are 4 supermarkets close by and wal mart about 10 miles away. if u have a car. You will save a ton of money at wal mart and even safeway or the trading company Sign at Mitchells said lowest gas in town? yup it did. Did they have lowest? NOPE! They do offer a 3 cents a gallon discount in gas if you achieve a certain spending level. wow that is a while 30 cents savings on 10 gallons. One can get a 10cents a gallon discount at Safeway. Do price comparisons with Wal Mart/Safeway/Trading Compsny. Heck, bring Mitchell's ad into Wal mart and they will match the prices on anything on sale and lower at Mitchells read more

Mitchell's fills a need, but not super-well. It's close to campus and about a 1 mile walk from downtown, and open until midnight every day. It's a little like a huge convenience store, but it's always pretty busy! Not a huge selection of stuff, so if you're looking for ethnic foods or something even a little out of the ordinary you might not find it here. They don't have an on-site bakery or butcher but they do have baked goods and meat. Prices are also a little high. Also, be careful: Some products are kept on the shelves past their expiration date! I got a horrible surprise once when I made my almost-famous nommy chicken salad croissants and discovered the chicken was very past its expiration date! But, the service is always friendly and they have no problem calling for a second checker when there's more than 3 people in line. Despite the friendly service, many of the people who work here are college students who don't know a whole lot about food (Polento? You mean pimentos, right?). What they do have is a pretty good deli and coffee, which redeems them a little. For four stars I'd like to see more knowledgeable staff, a little wider selection, and slightly lowered prices. read more

Good place to stop and grab those items your forgot on the way to the lake. Decent meat department. Small produce department. Big beer and wine selection. Popular with local college kids because beer usually on sale. Has small deli with fried chicken etc. Plus is the gas station in conjunction with the store. read more

One of the oldest stores in town. Used to be an IGA store before they went to Harvest Foods. Fairly decent customer service. Employees are friendly and will ask if you need help finding anything. They have built on to the front of the store and have added two electric riding shopping carts for disabled shoppers. Prices are generally higher then other stores in town although sometimes they might have a good sales price on something (of course that would be just for a week). Limited produce/fruits and vegetables departments. Huge beer selection with walk-in cooler. Only time they have good soda pop prices are during a weekly sale where the Western Family brand goes on sale. I have never seen a good price on name brand soda. Decent meat selection although, again very expensive compared to other stores. If you are into frozen dinners stay away from this place as their frozen dinners are very expensive compared to other stores (unless of course they are having a good week long sale which does happen occasionally). Ice cream and frozen desserts are usually very expensive. Not bad deli. Decent choice of meats and salads (potato, Macaroni, etc) Sometimes they have decent sales. The do cook chicken and jo-jo's which is not bad but like everything else is a little expensive, They don't have a bakery per se. I think they get what little baked goods they have from another store. Again fairly expensive. I guess the upshot of it all is that is a fairly clean store with friendly people but limited in it's size for what they can offer and unless you can keep an eye on the weekly ads for sales you are taking your chances on the prices. read more

that person was eating the hot dog while he was in line how could he forget to pay for it. the store did not take him to court after the police were involved because he tried to fight the manager and the proscuting attorney proceeded with the charges. Mitchells was not aware until they got a supena to go to court!! I have been shopping at this store for 3 years and the employees are very friendly and the store is always clean and their coffees from the deli are amazing!! Aisde from being occasionaly the most expensive in town it is by far my favorite store!! read more
