Because of their self-described high end service I foolishly trusted that any product they sold would be properly serviced and ready for ownership. I purchased an older Cadillac Escalade from them on April 25, 2026. The mileage was 58,000 and the SUV looked well maintained inside and out. I had an appointment on a Saturday to pick it up. As I was driving home to Fallbrook, trying to learn the control system I saw multiple messages flashing on the dash. At home I sorted out they were a tire pressure monitoring system problem and a suspension system problem. I looked everything up in the owners manual - then called my sales rep first of the week. Standard answer - " bring it by". It's an 80 mile round trip and my personal responsibilities don't allow that. I tried asking them to be specific about a plan of action but no success. I proceeded to have the local tire specialists sync up the tire monitoring system, but the suspension problem was very serious. After having it quickly put on a diagnostic system close to home it appeared the front left shock absorber was failing. It had been replaced by Land Rover SD weeks earlier. I pointed this out to them - explained I couldn't be "stopping by" with the mileage involved to do that, could we work something out etc? Maybe at least help defray the cost of proper replacement (they had used after market parts that failed) etc. I was polite, courteous, but my phone calls weren't returned and my detailed email went unanswered. I had the proper replacement with the needed GM parts done near home at a GM dealership. It cost just over $2,000. Who knows what kind of work Land Rover would have done even if I had a way to be making that trip since they totally botched it the first time. Again, my advice, do not trust Land Rover SD to treat you fairly in a pre-owned vehicle purchase. They were perfectly happy sending me home in a vehicle they had serviced that was left with problems that the service dept clearly had to know about since they created them.

The phone kept ringing, then a recording came on to leave a message. I never got to speak to a live person, so I left a detailed message. No call back. Two days later I called again. Same situation-except I kept getting hung up on while waiting on hold then getting hung up on when someone picked up. I called several times until a service person finally answered. I was asked if I would go on a "brief" hold, I said okay. After being on hold for 5 minutes and 37 seconds I gave up. I called Aaron Ford the next day. Again, a long wait on hold. When the service person got on the line, I was again asked to go on a brief hold, I said no because I was left hanging yesterday. He said, "Let's not worry about yesterday" "what's going on today"? I told him about the recall and he looked up my vehicle. He told me the earliest appointment was in seven days and they-Aaron Ford would need my vehicle for 1-3 days. When I asked questions about the recall he got impatient with me. I asked, if Ford needs three days to repair my vehicle, do I get a rental? He said Ford will not give you a rental. I asked if there was anything else Aaron Ford could do, he said he would have Aaron mobile service contact me. After three days, they never did. I called Perry Ford in National City. I got through to the service department with no difficulties or long waiting times. The service person patiently answered ALL my questions about the recall. In 2 days Perry Fords Mobile service came to my house and performed the recall repair. Even though Aaron Ford is close by, I will continue to use Perry Ford for my service and vehicle purchases. Even if it means driving to National City. Very disappointed in Aaron Ford of Poway they used to be good.

After the test drive, we went inside to write up what should have been a slam-dunk deal. Josh's manager, Mike, was leaving, so the deal was handed over to another sales manager, whose name I believe was Stephen. That is where everything fell apart. Josh returned with numbers that were approximately $20,000 higher than the advertised online price. The proposal appeared to include every possible add-on and inflated charge they could fit into the deal. It felt like the sales manager was attempting to take advantage of my son because he is a younger buyer. That approach might work on an inexperienced customer, but I have been in sales for 35 years. I asked to speak with the manager and questioned whether he was new or even familiar with the dealership's advertised pricing. He then asked me what the online price was. It is his responsibility to know the dealership's advertised specials before presenting a customer with numbers that are $20,000 higher. I genuinely feel bad for Josh because he did everything right and lost what should have been an easy sale because of the way his management handled the deal. We left Kearny Mesa Ford, returned to Mossy Ford, and purchased a truck from them instead.
