Last Saturday my daughters and I were traveling back to San Angelo from San Antonio when I learned the light bulb which powered my left turn signal light in the front of the vehicle was out. Thankfully, the rear light worked but it was blinking a million times a second which warned me that it was next to fail. I thankfully and prayerfully made it home safe and called Mitchell Toyota yesterday (Monday) to see if they had any appointments to get my light fixed. The Customer Service Associate told me to come in after 1:30 p.m. and I was seen as soon as I arrived. I went to the Parts Department and was helped by a very pleasant Associate who gave me a "Military Discount" on the bulb I needed. What's more, Toyota DID NOT charge for the Labor of installing the bulb (Fist Pump! And Fist Pump Again!) I waited about 30 minutes in the Waiting Room after paying for my bulb, but was very happy to learn my vehicle was ready. While I have read the previous reviews, I am glad to report my experience was everything that I have come to expect of Toyota after having owned one for almost 20 years. Called this dealership on Tuesday to set up an appointment to have my 2022 Toyota Tundra serviced. The lady at the service desk spoke to me in a manner unbecoming a business who actually NEEDS all the business they can get. She sounded irritated and as if I interrupted her - perhaps she was busy on her FB page - not sure - but very unfriendly! I then called the front desk/reception and again spoke to someone NOT TOO friendly, but also not rude. I asked to speak to the GM - was then told he was in a meeting. I asked WHO he was, to which she at first sounded reluctant to give his name - then after asking again - she said it was "Sean". I asked her to please ask him to call me - she said she would give him the message. Today is Friday, May 20th, and NO call has come from "Sean" - the GM! As a business owner for many years, I am amazed how businesses like this are still in business! Is it ONLY about selling new vehicles (but then) they even suck at that! I went to them over a year ago looking at trading my 2018 GMC with very low mileage, and buying a Toyota Tacoma (I ended up buying a BRAND NEW one from Brunner Toyota in Brownwood - which means they lost that deal) - I was told by the "salesman" that he cannot give me a price on my GMC and that he needs to speak to his manager and that they will get back to me! It has been over a year, and I still have not received that call! Bet you IF I ran my business like this, I would not be in business, let alone employ people who do not know HOW to speak to potential customers! I will now take my vehicle to Abilene to get serviced - yet another loss for this business! Common sense would be lost in this service department, I went in to get a battery changed out due to it not turning over my motor and starting the truck, it was clearly marked a Toyota battery with a 60 month warranty, the button was clearly marked that the battery was made in April 2016 I bought the truck In 2017 and the battery was already in the vehicle. They would not honor the warranty because they had no record of the battery been put in at a Toyota dealership even though it said Toyota right on the battery and it was clearly still in warranty. The service manager, Tony, runs and hides in the bathroom every time he is page today due to the terrible service everyone gets a dis-service department. Do not use them! We have been searching for months to find a TRD pro and/or settling for the TRD off road. Anytime we would find one (always in another town) they would be just sold OR marked up $5,000 or more above msrp. You have to be a special kind of stupid to pay above msrp.. so we would continue our search because each and every salesman would say "well someone will pay it" and refuse to come off the price. That's when we did our daily drive by of this dealership and there was a TRD off road, fresh off the truck, 3 miles on it (which we put on it for the test drive), marked AT msrp. We literally drove up to the salesman and said we would take it, test drove it, annnnd then drove it home. Super easy, never hassled with anyone or fought about the price. A couple of years ago when I first got to the area I went to Mitchell Toyota in San Angelo Texas for an oil change. They recommended a special treatment for my battery to retard corrosion. it cost me seventy-five plus dollars for them to put felt on my battery posts. And then when my car it would not start I was told it had to initialize. Then the technician came out and tightened the battery terminal connectors, which were loose after they had put that felt on them I was charged over $75 for felt and they did not even tighten up my battery terminals connectors. I had a problem with a rental car when I was in town and these guys helped me out no problem. I didn't have any major work done but would definitely return here if I needed something. I don't live in San Angelo but I am here often for work. I've been both here and the other Mitchell store in town (separate issues) and both were friendly and took care of my problem and got back back on the road...can't ask for more than that! read more

If I could give this a negative 1 I would. This place is by far the worst place I've ever been to. I've been here twice. The first time for an oil change which lasted all day fucking long. Next I took it in for a hood problem with my car. The total was $400 for rewiring the hood latch. Fine. But why do you have to lose my keys too? So now Im waiting for 5 hours so they can make new keys work for my car. Really? And if that's not bad enough, not once have they ever called me with an update. I have to continually call them to see what's going on with my car. This is pathetic customer service. read more

The 1 star is solely for the one incredibly pleasant and apologetic employee that I encountered at this service department (Eddie). As for the service, I took my car in for an oil change and multipoint inspection the day before I planned to take a road trip. I informed them that it was hesitating to start for a few days and they finished the inspection and told me I could pay $210 to cleanse my fuel injection system but that it would be fine if I waited til the next service appointment. The following morning my car wouldn't start. A friend looked it over for me and immediately when we opened the hood we noticed corrosion on the battery. The inspection paperwork claimed they had inspected the battery but I don't believe anyone could actually pop the hood and not notice the corrosion, especially a mechanic. I don't actually think anyone took the time to check the battery and I'm not confident much else was done either. When I called and brought the vehicle back the next day, postponing my trip, they said I needed a new battery. How an inspection wouldn't reveal that one day prior is a mystery. I'm still not entirely confident that the battery is the issue because it's possible they yet again just skipped the inspection and suggested an additional service. I'll be finding a new place to take my car in the future for sure. read more

He and the dealership management went out of their way to provide excellent service to my girlfriend and I. The service department is great also. I have been dealing with this service department for 18 years with excellent results. First an Avalon and now a Highlander - neither of which were brought at this dealership but I have still received excellent service. I call and make an appointment and they are waiting for me when I arrive. I almost always wait on my car and they come in the waiting room to inform me of the progress on my car. I appreciate how they check over the entire car even when I am there for only an oil change. read more

I work in San Angelo during week and travel home on the weekend. My engine light came on. Repairs were done by Mitchell Toyota. The next day the engine light came back on. I was able to drive to Fort Worth although car died while getting gas. I finally got it started. Took to dealership in Fort Worth. Additional repairs were done. Told service manager at Mitchell. He tells me they knew about the additional repairs but didn't have the part. They knew I travelled back and forth and could have been stranded. Evidently the assistant forgot to tell me about additional repairs needed. Also have a battery leaking acid all over hoses and other things under the hood. The checklist they did showed nothing wrong with battery. They basically said "oops, sorry..." Didn't seemed concerned at all. Didn't seemed concerned that I could have been stranded out somewhere on my way back to Fort Worth. This is a2010 Toyota corolla so not a junker. They have lost my business and I am considering buying a new car and San Angelo would be the most convenient to me but it will not be Mitchell Toyota with the way they treat their female customers. I'm glad I found out before I bought a car from them. read more
