I've been there many times. I never had any problems. He pull my wisdom teeth, did an implant and pulled out a few other teeth. Over the past 30 years. Everything, literally everything in that office is outdated from the 1970's from the wallpaper to x ray machines and chairs. Dr Brookstone tried to give me so much information on the situation of my wisdom tooth when consulting with me. 9 days later I saw the x-rays he took, and the quality was so bad that the new doctor and myself couldn't make out anything. Turns out he was just trying to make a quick buck, which he did. Made a appointment and the girl on phone said they took my insurance. The day before i called my insurance company to confirm pre authorization and was told nothing was sent in. I called office and the rude revptionist said they dropped my insurance couple weeks ago.I never was contacted. I'm making a yelp account just so I can let everyone know how much of a piece of shit this asshole Dr. Brookstone is Never have I walked out of any medical/dental place feeling like complete garbage, but this is how this office and doctor make you feel. I waited over 3 months for this appointment, sure that's fine, I understand these places get busy. Now knowing what I know I hate that I wasted all that time waiting for a worthless place like this. I walk in to my appointment and the x-ray technicians/assistants were totally rude to me and look miserable, which you know what, I'd be miserable too if I had to work for this jerk. Anyway I get into my appointment, and Dr. Brookstone was so rude, passive aggressive and unprofessional. Anything I said he came back with a rude remark and had such a know it all personality. When the appointment was over (which to my dismay was about an hour long of me just waiting, with no real care) I immediately stormed out of there wanting nothing to do with this complete waste of space "dental practice" About 2 weeks later I called to cancel all future appointments and to remove me from their system, and of course the lady on the phone was super disrespectful and unprofessional, no surprise there at this point. Another thing, this is to be one of the FILTHIEST medical offices I've ever seen. Absolutely vile, the wallpaper which looks 70 years old is completely yellowed and curling off the wall from humidity and likely mold. Smelled musty and all the equipment was super old and grimy. Disgusting place filled with a disgusting "doctor" I never write reviews but after reading everyone else's experiences with this hell hole, some worse, WAY worse, I had to also share mine. To the young girl on here who shared her experience, saying how she was having a panic attack because of the needles, and instead of giving her time to calm down, he shoved the needle in her arm. Dr Brookstone didn't specialize in the tiny nuances of conversation. He took charge of my extractions. I was surprised that he never used any topical medication before the needle insertions. But because of my past heart surgery, he did prescribe the correct antibiotics that would be safe for my system. When there was bleeding due the blood thinners I was taking, he sutured each location with great speed. Everyone, if you have read any other reviews about him, take heed to mine: This surgeon is an expert and that's why I'm giving him a high review. I had four four teeth extracted. 7/24/23 My daughter was to have 2 extractions and was extremely nervous since she saw mixed reviews on this site. Some were so silly and had nothing to do with the Oral Surgeons skills. Daughter came out of from getting her tooth pulled and was crying doctor was soooo mean to her, it's heartbreaking when your daughter has a phobia with shots really bad and he talks to her in a nasty manner instead of trying to be a caring doctor!! Unfortunately, I had an issue with my insurance and a lady named Vanessa did everything she could so that I can have my emergency surgery done in a timely manner. At first I was nervous because I saw some negative reviews that were similar and I never have been to this place before. I got my top wisdom teeth out and it was a breeze. I had a great experience with dr brookstone, his staff and the receptionist(s) . He's straight to the point and gets things done. I have and continue to have some teeth emergencies and have been there 3 times , I couldn't believe how fast they got me in, even the first time .. which made me so happy because elsewhere if your a new patient you have to wait for a consult and then they give you a date for your emergency which is so upsetting. My son had to have a molar extracted by Dr. Brookstone 5 days before he moved South. He had 4 wisdom teeth extracted by another Oral surgeon with no issue at another time and all went fine with no sedation. The experience he had with Dr. Brookstone was not good. He felt like his jaw was going to break. He had to return to have the stitches out and that was done. He moved and was in horrific pain. Called the office and said I think I feel a tooth fragment and the receptionist said he would still be in pain (6 days at this point) She also told him to stop googling! Long story short he went to an oral surgeon in NC and he LEFT A BONE FRAGMENT IN HIS GUM. How did they not see this when removing the stitches??? WE DO NOT RECOMMEND DR. BROOKSTONE. read more

TLDR; Dr. Brookstone is incredibly unprofessional and just plain rude, with absolutely NO bedside manner. Don't go here if you expect exceptional service and a professional Dr. If you don't care and are a miserable person, this is the dentist for you! Just to preface, I have been working in healthcare for years and work for one of the most highly rated PCP's on Long Island. I KNOW how to treat patients. I was referred to Dr. Brookstone by my dentist, maybe because I have Medicaid based insurance, but I would not recommend him even if all my teeth were falling out of my mouth. I made an appointment for a consultation for a wisdom tooth removal, which I was under the impression it would be just that- a consultation (mind you this is my first dental procedure) I can't say anything negative about his staff, they were all nice and friendly. But I can say, that Dr. Brookstone is unbelievably rude. He comes into the room, says absolutely nothing for about 30 seconds, then finally asks my name and then introduces himself with his back turned to me (so friendly, love that!) Anxious to begin with, he turns to me and says, ok I'm going to numb you it'll take 5 minutes. So I ask, if they are extracting my tooth today even though I was under the impression today's visit was supposed to be only a consultation. With an attitude he tells me yes and that if I don't want to do it today, he'll see me next time, hesitant to even explain the procedure to me or discuss any alternatives. Due to his awful manner and attitude, I flat out told him how unprofessional he was being, only then did he briefly explain, but was quick to tell me to call my dentist and have them explain what this procedure would entail. I made an effort to explain that this is my first dental procedure and I was new to the entire process, but even then, he had no problem walking out and failed to explain everything to a nervous, new patient. The whole conversation took less than 5 minutes, where I was left to grab my belongings and leave the office, with unanswered questions. All in all, the office as a whole looks unclean and I would be lying if I said the office looks unsanitary as well, especially during this COVID era. My issue wasn't even with that, but moreso with the unfriendly doctor. I feel so sorry for the girls who work here because I have worked with ungrateful and unprofessional doctors like this, and I can only imagine how he treats them. I hope they find new endeavors and leave Dr. Brookstone's disgusting, unpleasant office. Dr. Brookstone- you are unprofessional, rude, and I'm disappointed and appalled. I should have expected this from a doctor with such poor reviews. I feel so sorry for you, and I hope you can find a new profession that you genuinely love, because this is definitely not something you like doing, even if it does pay the bills. People who pick up the phone here are the worst like its actually unreal how they speak to someone they have no business talking to people. They talk down to you. The craziest part is this is referral from family and friends that the doctor is really good. I read the reviews and I went to this office with an open mind. The staff at the front desk was very accommodating in making my appt. I was in pain for several days and they were able to get me in that day to see the Dr. I'm not here to write a review on the attitudes of the office staff. I'm here to say the office is a complete disaster. It doesn't look like it has been cleaned in about 20 years. Old equipment, I understand that If it still works, use it. I'm talking old oxygen tanks from what looked like world war 2- there's no way anything like that still works or is up to today's standards in healthcare. The department of health needs to take a visit here. I had questions about the procedure (as anyone would) Dr. Brookstone took sometime with me (reluctantly) and we both came to the decision I could wait to get my wisdom tooth pulled (thank god) What really made me upset was there was a young man recovering from his procedure and they put him in this small closet in the hall with his mom sitting next to him. As we were walking out the mother saw Dr Brookstone and asked for some help. He shrugged her off and yelled out "someone help her" with an attitude. No concern for the patient. It wasn't an emergency but at least address her, she is worried about her son. The whole recovery in a closet in a hallway rubbed me the wrong way too. I wouldn't want to be in there after a procedure. I thought Dr. Brookstone himself was unapproachable and cold. I'm sure he sees a ton of patients a day, I get that he is a busy man. I suffer from anxiety and I was very nervous going in to get a tooth removed yesterday but I am so happy that I chose Dr. Brookstone. The staff was very nice and helpful. Dr. Brookstone is an excellent oral Surgeon, this was the first time I have ever gone in for a dental procedure an left with no pain or swelling, I didn't even feel him out the needle for anesthesia in my arm. I would not recommend this office unless you have good insurance. I called several times to try to schedule an appt. (I read the good reviews) and when the receptionist asked "what insurance do you have?" she said that there were no available appointments. I was told to call back in a couple of weeks. When I did call back, the receptionist said "you can find a different provider" I decided to call for an appointment and I told them I had a different dental insurance and they said I could come in on Saturday. Miraculously, they had a appointment... I did not book the appointment I have reported them to the health insurance company. This is very sad that a dental practice is allowed to do this. Had an appt. here, couldn't eat or drink after midnight, arrived for my 10 am appt. They didnt take me until 11:30 am. The small waiting area in office was packed during Covid. The staff was very nasty. I was also over charged which I confirmed with my insurance co. When I notified them, again, nasty staff, they told me, the ins. Co. Made a mistake that they would call them, but that I actually owed them more $. They are so nasty and condescending. I work for doctors & would NEVER treat a patient like that. I called to find out about getting my wisdom teeth pulled. I've had to put it off because I had oral cancer and that procedure needed to be done first. I explained to whoever answered the phone my situation, and that since the pandemic my teeth have gotten so bad I can't eat and it's affecting my speech. She was the nastiest, rudest person I've ever encountered at a doctors office. I would rather pull my own teeth out before I'd subject myself to that treatment. LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Brookstone. I've been coming here for years and referred many people. He's amazing and so is most of his staff. The girls in the back make you feel so comfortable even when your getting a tooth pulled and we all know how stressful that can be. The reason I gave only 4 stars is the receptionist is extremely rude. She talks about, laughs, and makes rude facial expressions to all the patients and in front of the patients in the waiting area. She has been here a long time and has always been that way. I believe she really needs to be retrained but hey that's just my opinion. The doctor was amazing! He's not much of a talker which I don't mind. He was pretty straight to the point. I had 2 wisdom tooth removed, it was such an easy and painless procedure. It was done in less than 10 mins. Closed my eyes and it was done. I chose to stay awake, I was so scared of being put to sleep. He put 3 injections on each side where the wisdom teeth were. That hurt a little but nothing crazy. The financial person (Karen) was a rude. Before the procedure was done I had to pay the balance my insurance didn't cover. She came over to the room and asked if I maybe had a credit card I could use to pay the balance. I asked her how much it was and I said ohh it's less than I expected, I'll be paying with my debit card. She was shocked and said ohh your debit card, oh ok. I followed her to the front to make a payment. She asked if I was getting put to sleep and I said no. She said ok, that would have been more but I am assuming you knew that since you want to stay awake. I said no, I am just scared to get put to sleep that's all. If I need to pay more that's not an issue I have money. She just looked at me and walked away. read more

While waiting to be called back, the receptionist was playing a YouTube video extremely loud and talking non stop about what was going on in the video .. but I mean she was borderline YELLING non stop for 10 minutes. BTW the video was about a boy being gunned down and the entire AUDIO was playing .. it was horrible . Why would you play that in a doctors office ? The office is dirty. While My mother was waking up from her procedure, they had her sit in a little resting area, directly in front of the doctors exam room. He had the door halfway open and was discussing treatment plan and other things with his other patient ... isn't that HIPPA violation?? I also hav a picture of her charging my card for the visit, which she should have known I was NOT to be charged for. I, of course only found this out after speaking with my insurance. So I tried to give them a second chance and called to schedule my procedure being that my insurance already sent out the approval letter. Ha! I should've stuck to my original decision.
