I was able to limp into town with no power steering/brakes, battery not charging and overheating. I had to stop 3-4 times to let the engine cool down. I managed to get to Chris' Auto Repair and explained my situation. They took my suburban right in and got to work. I walked to my vendor pickup point a few block away to arrange getting my order. I was back in about 30 minutes and they already had the needed parts and were nearly finished. I hadn't even asked for a quote, knowing I had to have it fixed. The only thing I did was to replace the spark plugs and change the oil and filter. The cost was affordable at the time, February, 2019. I am back in Dallas and need the serpentine belt replaced. A new belt was put on in September, 2025, so a diagnosis of why the belt came off is what I hope Ed's will be able to answer.
