Due to the most awful experience I had with this man, I cannot recommend him to anyone for any type of home repair. He did not finish a job - a job he did so poorly, it has to be redone. He used interior paint on an exterior job. Used inferior or wrong materials, that they started to show decline only weeks after he walked off the job. He did not finish the job. Always asked for more and more money. Could not stay for more than a few hours, if that. He began using one color and type of paint and switched to another. Masked parts of rotting wood that he was instructed to replace. Sad. He used trash wood pieces on trim - when I pointed it out to him, he wanted to talk me into thinking this was acceptable. No. I paid him a fair price but the level of work that this person did, was so shockingly awful, it is a nightmare for me. I have a sizable house he worked on. and His bid was the same as most others, but he promised to repair a leak in the roof. He removed tiles and did not replace and the ones that he did, he did incorrectly. This is so, tragic. Please. check out whomever you choose for your repair work.. He has not contacted me and left plenty of trash, a mess, and tools here. I cannot tell you the level of grief that I have had from such terrible "work." Never showed up. I don't want this person to do anything near my home again. He Promised to come and didn't show up for weeks on multiple occaisions and then never again. Promised to finish the job in under a month and after 12 weeks, was still coming for a moment and left again. Left trash and equipment everywhere. Who does this? There is a prevailing thought that Mitch had something else that had priority over the work. What is it? I don't know. None of this person's work is acceptable or professional. Mitch came out on 08/24/2024 and we gave him a $200 deposit on a $550 job to build a doggie door into our wall. He came back on 08/25/2024 to begin the job. He arrived hours late and after almost 7 hours we were left with a uneven hole in our wall and our electrical out in half our living room and my stove. When asked for our money back we were informed that he didn't have any money, but that he would be back this morning to, at least, fix our electrical problem. He messaged my husband this morning and wanted more money to get the parts needed to fix his mistake and for gas money to get here. He was told that we would not be giving him any more money and to not come back. We are hiring an electrician to come remedy his error and we will be buying and installing our own door. If you love your home, do NOT let this walking disaster near it. Mitch Stabile is a mediocre handyman with very poor planning skills. I had him repair and paint my fascia boards around the exterior of my house. For starters I volunteered to either go with him to pick out the paint or just go get it myself. He insisted that wouldn't be necessary because he would paint match it. The original paint was a baby blue. I show up the next day and my house is now a gray color. I tell Mitch the paint isn't even close. Mitch responds by informing me he's been doing this a very long time and customers are usually happy with the change. I seriously doubt there are many home owners that are going to be happy with a handyman changing the color of their house. To his credit when Mitch came out he agreed the color was very wrong and needed to be changed. The second color was much more appropriate and I am happy with it. Skills. Well this one defies all reason but throughout the project Mitch had drop cloths around his work area and yet somehow he managed to drip paint just about everywhere. He also missed numerous spots and in general I'd give him a C- for his painting skills. Planning. This was at best a two day job that Mitch stretched into four days because he simply doesn't know how to plan anything. He would start at 11am and then complain about the heat! I can only guess he's unfamiliar with how days work and that noon is usually a very warm time of day. He would text me from a town that is literally 20 minutes away telling me it was going to take him at least an hour to get here. Dishonesty. And that brings me to his dishonesty. I was first made aware of his dishonesty because he kept telling me how honest he was. Honest people don't do that. Luckily he's such a space cadet he doesn't remember half of what he says. I had given him $300 to buy some supplies. When he returned he told me it cost $260 and he was most likely lying about that but I didn't really care. All in I was still below what I wanted to pay for this project and I figured if a few extra dollars keeps him happy that's great. But then the next day he's doing the typical handyman begging routine and telling me the job is taking a lot longer than he anticipated and he went out of pocket for a bunch of stuff. Pretty soon the out of pocket expenses grew a figure of $160. But since he's not producing any receipt I just ignore him and let him continue the project. I pay him on the last day the agreed upon price and he again brings up the imaginary money he went out of pocket for. I calmly and politely tell him, "Not a problem. Just provide me with the receipts and I'll take care of it." Mind you, we are standing at the back of his van. He's done with the job. I just paid him. He doesn't make any move to get these receipts (Because they don't exist) and tells me, "I'll get them in a little while." Needless to say no receipts were ever produced and Mitch left with the agreed upon amount. Overall the job is barely acceptable. I'll have to touch up the spots he missed and get a power sprayer to clean up the mess he left. I would never hire this man again. I certainly wouldn't recommend him to others. Between the dishonesty and his mediocre skills, it's just not worth it. read more

Sloppy sloppy work and poor attitude. My landlord called Mitch to install some vinyl flooring in my bathroom after a mold remediation was done. Mitch installed flooring that looked nothing like the original flooring that did not even match the cabinets. He took it upon himself to change out the baseboards from wood to rubber ones. He didn't even properly put on the baseboards they were peeling off and the ones along the tub had a huge gap which is going to cause water to get in there. When he took my toilet off to place flooring he put the toilet on my carpet with nothing but a thin terry cloth underneath. As a result of that he left my carpet soaking wet. When he placed the toilet back on it was not properly sealed. After reporting the issues to my landlords they sent him back and when he came back he was visibly upset with an attitude arguing about his work. I walked away from him and left him to do his half ass work. Some reviews say he is reasonably priced but you get what you pay for. He is sloppy and unprofessional and should not be hired. I have used Mitch as a handyman on two separate occasions. He did adequate work putting on security screen doors and putting on light fixtures. He also painted a couple of rooms for me but did a sub-standard job which required me to do a lot of touch up. He installed a water heater but I had to call the gas company because there was a gas leak the next day. And the parts he used were not up to code. Recently, he attempted to repair a 3 ft. section of sewer pipe outside the bathroom of my back house. He tried very hard but didn't seem to know what he was doing. If you are looking for a qualified, reliable, and excellent handyman, look elsewhere. Mitch runs the shadiest so called business and tells you how great he is and how busy he is, when in reality he tries to run two jobs at the same time as yours, working half days and comes in at different hours each day and leaves after 4 hours or less saying he is exhausted and has to go home. I had baseboards put in, interior doors installed, some repair, texture, and paint to walls and ceiling work done. Mitch said he could do everything with no problem, and I would be so happy. He even kept trying to tell me how great things were turning out to convince himself. You will see in the pictures it was all bad. Baseboards cut wrong, filled with Gorilla Glue, and painted to hide the mistakes. Painting was left unfinished in hall. Left shoe off one room and destroyed the wood floor and never told me. He tried to hide the need for shoe by covering it with a nightstand. Waited for me to find it. Used Gorilla Glue to try and hide floor but because of the expansion I discovered it when sweeping his mess. Wood floor had to be replaced. He is very messy and leaves his trash behind telling you to put a little out at a time each week. Not only did he leave me with all his trash, he left the old doors for me to figure out how to get rid of. Mitch talks very poorly of his hired help calling them illiterate and dumb. Treats them horrible. They are very nice, but also their work was terrible. As soon as I tried to tell Mitch I wasn't happy with the doors because he chiseled the hinged areas into squares instead of doing it professionally, also need to mention one door was cut wrong according to him and had to be replaced. Mitch left and bought door and dropped it off at the house. Left me a note saying he wasn't going to be insulted. He left me $125 to have someone else come out and fix the door. All texturing and painting had to be redone, baseboards repaired and the piece missing put in. He did not get one paint finish or color correct when bought, so had to buy new. Oh and he makes sure you give him a check each day as the job is being done and runs to the bank to cash it. Not to mention he brings his drug addicted son to work with him and treats him like a dog.
