BEST dental experience, bar none. A friend of mine had recommended them after the decision to leave…read moreour prior dentistry practice. First can we just talk about how great this location is, close to midtown, middle of everything, still ample parking. Looked to be a former residential residence, the building has so much character. Upon arrival I was greeted and not too long after they sat me down and started the process. They offered a neck pillow for comfort, tv overhead with earphones if you'd like. Incredibly friendly and helpful throughout without the awkward chatter many of us are accustom too in the chair- you know the continuation of questions while they are taking care of your visit for an in and out, in and out (the instruments) type of experience. The hygienist was fantastic and walked me through some things prior to the dentist arrival. Post this, the visit was great, I shared what I hoped to accomplish in upcoming visits, etc and they were not only incredible professionally but so personable and helpful! They laid out a plan and pricing up front, no hidden costs and were helpful with the scheduling even with it being so close to the holidays! Actually looking forward to coming in for further visits and absolutely recommend for your general dentist needs to cosmetic and beyond!

I had been going to them for YEARS. I have such mixed feelings. Love the dental staff and Dr H, I…read moreeven made a few knit hats for their babies. And what I'm very disappointed in is the billing. They stopped taking my insurance and I have a secondary insurance to cover costs. They told me that they could bill the secondary after the primary insurance decided what they would cover. The office manager never billed my secondary, she would constantly call and text to get me to pay the difference. After three visits of "you owe us money" because they didn't bill my secondary, I was done. Cindy is very rude and snooty. She even told my husband that I still owed them $130 from a "really long time ago" when it's actually on $37. Even the voicemail saying "we've waited a long time for this" is outrageous to me. You didn't bill my insurance, you tried to get money out of ME instead.

This office wasn't the right fit for me…read more My biggest concern was my interaction with the dentist (I believe her name was Dr. Aimee). I let her know upfront that I have a severe fear of needles. Instead of focusing on how we could work around that, she repeatedly told me that I should consider therapy. She also told me that my fear of needles--and even pain--is "all in my mind" and that I need to learn to separate what's happening in my brain from what I'm feeling in my body. Hearing that once would have been one thing, but she repeated it several times. Eventually I became emotional and politely asked her to stop because the conversation itself was making my anxiety worse. At that point, she appeared visibly frustrated, ended the exam, and referred me elsewhere, saying I would be better served by a provider who could offer "safe" dental care because I was "not safe" due to my fear of needles and pain. What made this especially disappointing is that several members of my family see this dentist and have told me she is usually very patient with people who struggle with dental anxiety and fear of needles. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I can tolerate needles and painful procedures when I'm treated with patience, empathy, and respect. What I struggled with was having therapy repeatedly suggested while I was already in a vulnerable position. I came in looking for dental care, not a psychological evaluation. The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the rest of the staff was kind and professional. They were apologetic when their X-ray equipment wasn't working properly, which required removing and repositioning the sensor several times. They handled that situation as well as they could. My issue wasn't with the staff--it was with how I felt dismissed and judged by the dentist. If you have dental anxiety or a fear of needles, I think it's important to know that experiences may vary significantly depending on how your concerns are addressed- and maybe the mood of the dentist. Looking at other reviews I'm not the only one who isn't impressed with her attitude towards patients.

My interactions with Dr. Aimee Abittan have been on 7th Street, not in her office. I have watched…read moreher let her dogs poop on the public easement; she doesn't pick it up. Her dogs would not leave me alone. She had no leashes or voice control over her animals. She screamed at me when I held up my pepper spray. Staff told me that the dentist was the dog owner when I showed them the picture. Aimee apparently has few concerns over hygiene because she won't even pick up her dogs excrement. I agree that walking back into a dental office with a bag of dog poop would not smell good, but certainly she could bag it and leave it by her car. The dogs stay in the office according to other tenants. I have contacted the NV Board of Dental Examiners about the dogs in her office. Has she even followed the protocol required for service animals in dental offices? She recognized me speaking with her staff, yet refused to discuss this with me. But she stood out front of the building yelling at me because I asked her to leash her dogs. Her lack of interest in complying with the law is disturbing. I could never trust that her office is hygienic or in compliance with other laws, since she evidently picks and chooses which laws to comply with. It will be interesting to learn what the Dental Board thinks of this. You can't walk into many businesses with a pet dog. Only service dogs are allowed. Yet this is a DENTAL office and these are pets that are allowed in daily. I did hear back from the state. If the dogs are in the operating area, that it is something the Board would look into. If you are a patient and have seen the dogs, please contact them. 702-486-7044

I really wanted to like her, especially because she had a great personality, said all the right…read morethings, and had good reviews. Unfortunately, she really let me down. I took her suggestion to cap my tooth, but then had to experience it falling out a few days later while eating. She then booked me with someone in her office who put it back in the wrong way, causing me great discomfort. So I then had to remove the cap again, and found there was even some cavity left behind that she missed. It is really sad because I liked her, but when she kept making mistakes, didn't take responsibility ("it's the vendor's fault for giving me bad cement"), and even put me through hoops to get half my money back and then refused to follow through ... unfortunately, the best I can say is that I am deeply disappointed.

Friends recommended Dr. Vazquez when I told them that I was in search of a dentist after my doctor…read moreof 30 years retired (and I didn't bond with the new practitioner). They both said they loved her, so... I decided to give her office a call. Getting an appointment was easy and the receptionist worked with me to verify insurance and other details so I would have to worry about that on the day of the appointment. Great! When I arrived at the office I felt like I'd joined the modern world. Not that my old dentist's office was dingy, but this place felt designed to calm and provide care. There's a lot of technology going on that my previous dentist hadn't adopted yet. An electronic new patient questionnaire was new to me, for example. And, the digital x-rays and sharp photo images of each tooth that Dr. Vazquez both used for the exam AND to explain to me what was going on in my mouth were excellent tools that I hadn't experienced before. Importantly, the technology was used as a tool for the staff and me. I never felt like we were serving technology or anything was done to me because the machines wanted it that way. Every person who worked on me was friendly and looked me in the eye. The dental assistant started off by giving me a road map of my visit so I would know what to expect (xrays, then the doctor would look at them and do an initial assessment of my mouth, then examination for gum health, then the hygienist would do his magic). They were very clear and careful throughout my visit. And, friendly. Did I mention friendly??! An unexpected plus was that Brian, the hygienist, prefers to work with manual tools and not with the damn Cavitron. He said he'll use the machine in specific circumstances, but likes the tactile feedback he gets with manual tools and thinks they do a better job anyway. Their post visit follow-up is great, too. When making an appointment for some follow-on work (replacement of a 30-year-old amalgam filling) I had some questions that I hadn't thought to ask the doctor. The receptionist noted my questions, and by the time I had gotten home I had an email telling me what the doctor said about my questions and a confirmation of the new appointments.
