There were four of us, and we ordered several dishes. Mine were Grilled Chicken (2/5) and Kuzu (4/5) with pita. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The kuzu -- a Turkish lamb stew with potatoes, peas and red bell peppers -- was very good but salty. The cafe interior is very plain with about a dozen tables. Beer and soft drinks are available, but I don't remember if there was any wine.

This one was the same, but now we were hungry so we gave it a try. I figured the burgers and pizzas were there to draw in tourists, but if we stuck with the doner, it'd be good. We ordered two doner sandwiches, a wrap, and a plate that came with meat, salad, and fries. We also got a plate of fries to share. Those came first, and they were crispy and piping hot. The entrees were also very good...but the meat was unlike any doner/gyros any of us had ever tasted. It tasted like carnitas. Ya know--shredded pork. I could see a sign from where I was seated proclaiming that all their meat was Halal, in which case it couldn't have been pig, but still... I wondered if they kept a secret stash of pork for the customers who didn't didn't appear to be Muslim, or if they had some weird technique for shredding their gyros that gave it such a different texture, but I didn't have the guts to ask our host. So the food here, while delicious, will always be a bit of a mystery to me.

What I found, was salvation. Nothing soothes the stomach like some greasy meat after a night of drinking. And the kebabs at Shisha e Kebab come in at an economical 3.50 Euro. For that price, I feel like I should eat two, just because it's such a deal. One of my friends ended up grabbing a 22 oz. beer for 1.50 Euro (I think.. things were a bit hazy). I loved this place when I was studying abroad in Rome. This was like....OUR drunken, broke, last minute pizza/kebab place where we could also grab a $2 bottle of wine to end the night with.
