After an afternoon in Portuense, we wanted a light cena, and we chose Cafe Istanbul Kabab. You order at the counter and take your food tray to a table. The menu is on the wall behind the counter in Italian. There was one server this evening who spoke English, and he was very helpful selecting items.
There were four of us, and we ordered several dishes. Mine were Grilled Chicken (2/5) and Kuzu (4/5) with pita. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The kuzu -- a Turkish lamb stew with potatoes, peas and red bell peppers -- was very good but salty.
The cafe interior is very plain with about a dozen tables. Beer and soft drinks are available, but I don't remember if there was any wine. read more
