They make an awesome pizza - not round but more oval in shape - that is made with an "antique crushed dough pizza" method which is apparently more than 2,000 years old and was practiced here in ancient Rome that long ago. The crust is very light and fluffy. The toppings are great in variety. The menu is fairly simple and consists mostly of appetizers, salads and pasta and pizza. I'd recommend people try the "ancient pizza" because you will never ever eat this kind of pizza anywhere else, its very unique as tastes great. One pizza plate is more than enough for one person and can be easily shared between two for not very much money. They also have great wines and desserts. Their prices are very reasonable and the host and wait staff are very helpful (spoke English) and welcoming. You will have a great dinner here.

The pizza is tasty with a great crust. I would have to order what seemed to be a nutella pizza (wtf?) if I should end up there another time. I definetly wouldn't mind another visit!

This tiny restaurant is worth a trip to Rome. From its unassuming storefront, you would never know…read morewhat magic goes on inside. Definitely, do not miss their starter which is sort of like a soufflé with fresh truffles. If you do nothing else in Rome, drive to this very pretty, and quiet Portuense neighborhood to have that starter. Service is Sterling. Let your waiter choose your wine. He's brilliant at it, And it won't cost you an arm and a leg. The atmosphere is purely Roma. This is not a budget joint, and it's not outrageously expensive, but it will be worth every penny you spend, or every euro. I would skip the shrimp dish. The shrimp are unpeeled and uncleaned. But again, you are gonna leave this place very happy.

On our trip to Italy, this location was very near to where we were staying. We were a little…read moreskeptical about the name at first and we were looking for something with a more Italian name. Well, we were sorry that we judged the location based on the name after our first visit here. Our first visit was very memorable and we were greeted right away. Jeorge was our server and was fantastic. He was full of great energy. He went over the menu and he was very easy to talk to. He made a few food recommendations as well as drink recommendations and was very honest about the menu and what his preferences were. He then introduced us to Alessandro who was very charismatic and fun to speak with. He would occasionally stop over to check on us to make sure things were going well and that we had everything we needed. The service here was spectacular and puts many of the fancy restaurants in the US to shame. We were at Shooters for many hours trying things on the menu and we did not feel rushed at all. Jorge and Alessandro made my family feel as if we were a part of their family and in my opinion, that's what makes memories and makes the visit so amazing. We had them choose wine for us and all the selections were great. We were then later introduced to Don Franco who is the owner and he gave us a history of shooters. He took the time to make us feel at home and occasionally checked on us himself. The location is on a non busy street and the dim lights set the mood. We never made it inside except to use their very clean restrooms. The inside of this location was very classy and also very clean. The staff take lots of pride in the work their do and the attention to details says it all. My parents love thin and crispy crust pizza and on our whole trip throughout Italy they always did a comparison to the thin crust pizza at Shooters and they deemed Shooters as the best crust and most flavourful pizza they had in Italy. Their Cacio et Pepe was to die for and even though it's a simple dish the flouvours were amazing. We went down the menu and tried the different foods along with the recommended wines. We topped the night off with amaro and limoncello. On our second trip to Shooters, we were quickly greeted by Jeoge and Alessandro. The outside seating was full and this was a busy night. Alessandro and Jeoge knew we loved sitting outside and asked us to wait a few minutes. They then had the staff find some tables and move the tables outside for us and set us up quickly. This is not something that I have experienced in the United States. In the US they tell you to wait till a seat opens up but they wanted to seat us right away and made room for us. This was our last night in Rome and we continued to try more things on the menu and the staff always found time to stop by for informal conversation. We then found out it was an important day and they were celebrating also. We spoke some more to Don Franco and enjoyed wine and dessert the rest of the night. Thank you Jorge for the best service and for making our vacation a memorable one. Thank you Alessandro for making us feel like a part of the family and we do not doubt that the business is in good hands with you. Thank you so much Don Franco we will never forget the hospitality you have shown us and we hope to see you again soon. If I could leave more than 5 stars for the fun experience we had at your restaurant I would. 6 stars on the food, wine, and service!

A whole villa to cater to your every appetite, you can't help admiring the architecture of the place. And when you seat down, you find an interesting menu with plenty of options, some of which are bold enough that you can't pass. Prosciutto&olive-wrapped mozzarella, with grilled veggies? A bit too salty, as is expected when you cook ham, but tasty. I also enjoyed the mini-fried-calamari, the right size and quantity to open up the stomach without becoming overwhelming. Portions are not overly generous but prices are also very moderate, you're really tempted to order away and then share with the rest of the table. Unless you're in the mood for pizza, because that's the exception that confirms the rule: incredibly large but thin, with the classic crispy border you can expect from Roman cuisine. The entrees are probably a better choice, with both seafood and meat creations. My grilled and breaded squid was light and delicious. The service is fast, with a smart button to push when you need to call the waiter, and they accept credit cards, but not Amex. All in all, always a pleasant experience, but I do tend to enjoy the ambiance more than the food itself. Eating outside in the terrace with the good season is an experience in itself, and the fact that the bar is well stocked doesn't hurt either.
