Really frustrated and bothered at the way this location is running their business. I try my best to give people the benefit of the doubt and follow rules & guidelines. So here's the story, went to get a car wash yesterday (08/18) @mister on El Monte in Dinuba, where I've gone many times before, paid for my basic car wash and was directed through the car wash tunnel. Right at the end, my car starts getting jolted and my roof rack is ripped off the top of my car and slid down the front windshield causing damage to my roof and breaking things along the way. Thankfully it didn't come crashing through my windshield. Anyway, after this I start taking pictures and talk to a supervisor on site and he apologized and claimed responsibility and that someone would be in touch with me tomorrow (08/19).
08/19 comes, im asked to come back to the location to speak with supervisors again to which I am then told that they are not taking responsibility for this damage because they have a sign posted stating so.
Let me explain their signs - large writing with short phrases saying they're open, card only, and how to get unlimited washes. The ONLY sign that says they're not responsible is to the right of the tunnel where your focus is following the direction of the attendant ON THE LEFT, making sure your tire gets on the track correctly. Explain to me how I'm supposed to read a crowded, small print sign AND not hit your employee or mess up getting on the track??
Again, I've gone through this car wash many times prior to the name change with this same roof rack... I've had this thing on my car for 4 years and not one time has it caused an issue or had I been advised NOT to enter the car wash with it on.
Until yesterday (08/18) did it become a problem to which not a single employee said that it would be an issue and was told by a supervisor that it was a malfunction of the car wash.
I'm really unhappy with the way this situation was handled and how shady the set up is of their signage. They should consider having the sign re-done and moved to a location BEFORE you pay, not after they've already taken your money.
