Best food and best prices anywhere in town. Service is fast and efficient. Waitresses, owner, and all employees are friendly and helpful! We drive to Pekin from Canton just to eat at Missy's! read more

This is a Diner with an extensive menu! My wife and I dined in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Our waitress was fantastic! I ordered the chicken tenderloin sandwich with potato salad and tater tots. My wife ordered the chicken tenders with fries and a salad bar. The portions are huge!!! My wife enjoyed the chicken but the breading fell off the chicken! The tenders are homemade. The chicken tenderloin had delicious thin white meat chicken but the breading was overwhelming. The potato salad is mustard based and really good! The chunks of potatoes are a good size. The tater tots are your standard tots. The fries are basic frozen crinkle cut. The salad bar is nothing fancy just basics with French and ranch dressing. The salad bar does have coleslaw, apple sauce, banana pudding, and potato salad. Overall we liked the ambience and the vibes here. Good spot for a breakfast or lunch, read more

Not the best we have had... excessive breading (more than pork) and loin lacked flavor. Staff always friendly and prices decent. Not sure we will go out of our way to return anytime soon. read more

I moved out of Pekin years ago, and in recent drives through town to doctor's appointments, I noticed they were closed at their old location. Recently I was told of their new location so I googled them, and then called to verify they had the same menu. Today I was in town, and wanted to stop by after a doctors appointment for lunch. Websites had their schedule as closing at 8pm today (Wednesday 5/31/23). I walked in the door about twenty till 2pm. and was told they were closing. No prior notice, no signs posted in the parking lot. Heck of a way to do business. read more

This place is racist. I was the only person of color in this establishment one day and, as I waited for my food after ordering I overheard one of the cooks tell the 2nd cook that he was an equal opportunist racist. The 9 to 12 other guest heard him as well and immediately looked at me. It was so uncomfortable and I was beyond offended. I told my waiter what happened and her response was "yeah I heard him too." I asked to speak to the manager/owner as I thought this was extremely unprofessional. She told me that she was out and that I could leave my number and she would call me back. Never got that call back and I even called multiple times since and still haven't heard anything from the owner. The food was trash and unseasoned. I couldn't even finish my plate out of fear that the racist cook had tampered with my food. While the customer service was a bit better than the food it was mediocre to say the least. I would not suggest this place to anyone not of the caucus race. I felt like a caged animal in a zoo from the stares, glares and, looks I received from the other diners. If you're a person of dignity, equal rights and injustice please avoid this place at all costs. read more

Good food at a reasonable price, good portions, friendly people, relaxed atmosphere. I do not know of a place in town where you can get as much to eat for the price. Salad bar is not the largest but most of it is homemade. read more

I have visited the Court St. location 3 times. Upon first entry, I wouldn't have know what to expect. There is too much uncoordinated decor to understand what look they're trying to establish. Floors are sticky. The menu is repetitive and honestly, confusing. Service is ok, very small town "honey, sweetie, baby"; not my favorite approach but then they don't come back I have had both lunch and breakfast here and was not impressed by either. Turkey club had ROCK HARD wheat toast on it. It physically hurt to eat and crumbled everywhere. The breakfast was undercooked & unflavored hash browns, veggies are all fresh in the omelet (canned mushrooms ). I haven't been back since last September, and wouldn't recommend the place. read more

This is a typical Pekin place. Food is greasy, restaurant is dirty & wait staff is mediocre.

We stopped here for lunch & had a nice experience. I had a tasty club sandwich w/ good quality turkey & extra crispy bacon. I got it w/ a cup of tomato veggie soup which tasted OK although it wasn't very hot. Pies & cakes are a big deal here...the specials board showed a huge selection the day we were there, my hubby got a slice of lemon meringue which he really enjoyed. read more

The staff was nice and friendly but the breakfast was nuthn to write home about. It's in an old long John silvers building so it looks like someone tried to make a diner out of an old fast food building with a bunch of mismatching everything. I can appreciate someone tryn to make it work but the food has to outshine the accommodations... read more

Always listen to the customers when they are talking to the waitress about food and what they love at the place. Because of a man and wife i ordered the Hot Jr.Tenderloin which come on top of a big slice of bread with the biggest helping of mashed potatoes and gravy i had ever seen on top of what i thought was suppose to be a smaller homemade tenderloin. The tenderloin was ginormous! The meal was very satisfying to say the least....Excellent! read more

Food was awesome. I had the corned beef hash omelet and husband had the tenderloin. The hot chocolate was great with whip cream and it was awesome on this cold day. All the staff was friendly and helpful.. on a side note the place mats made great paper airplanes.. mine was better then my sons. Lol definitely will be coming back read more

I go to Missy's a lot with my daughter . We love the fried mushrooms because they aren't frozen... They use real big store bought mushrooms with their house batter. Basically anything fried is good. I strongly suggest not getting side eggs or pancakes..and especially not B's and G's...blan/poor quality. I don't bring friends there anymore because when the one or two waitresses get busy.... Good luck getting refills or anything at all. But if your a patient person and love fried food, it's worth it. read more

Today was probably the last time I'll go by unless I give another chance way later down the road. I went with both my sons, one hadn't been yet and the other one and I told him that it's usually pretty good. There were only two other tables inside, yet it took way over what it should have to get our food. Then as my son that had never been there was just about done with his chocolate milk, he saw a fly in it. The fly didn't show up as we ate so it must have got it prior to being served. Yes, flies get inside businesses, but chocolate you have to stir into milk you usually look at so it's just too easy to see if there is a dead fly or anything in it. For just reopening; this is just sloppy. Also, my other son's bacon was way overcooked, charred around edges. read more

I don't know of another restaurant in this area that's like Missy's. Good food that reminded me of my Mom's cooking!

Out Side appearance deceptive! Go In!! Friendly Service, Good Food, very acceptable prices, CLEAN, even the restroom. An old fashioned 1950s/60s diner. Great place to eat. Been there the last three times in Pekin, on our next trip will go again. read more

My family and I went in for breakfast here, my oldest and I ordered the biscuits and gravy which in my opinion tasted very odd the sausage tasted like it was freezer burnt or just fake. My other children ordered pancakes in which they were all happy with. Our drinks were refilled once and from then on for the rest of the meal we did without even while trying to get the attention of several waitresses same with my husband's coffee . And the check turned out pretty high for the amount of food and service we were given. I don't believe we will be stopping in at Missy's again. I've seen all these great reviews about the restaurant and am pretty bummed we had a bad experience read more

I've eaten at Missy's twice in the last two weeks and have been impressed both times. The first time was a breakfast meal I had the 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy with 1 egg and the wife had eggs and toast. Cost was a little over $10 including drinks. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the biscuits were generously covered in gravy that had nice sized chunks of sausage. The meal was very good. The second time was a lunch meal where I had the junior tenderloin (with fries) and my companion had the hot meatloaf sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy with drinks about $18. The tenderloin sandwich was by far the star of the show. The "junior" tenderloin was a meal into itself. The sandwich was hand made and was deep fried to a golden brown. It was VERY good. I can't imagine how large the big tenderloin could have been, but a fellow diner laughed and indicated a dinner plate size with his hands. Due to the size of the sandwich, I was not able to eat many of the fries but I can say they were standard frozen crinkle cut. My companions meal was likewise large and, according to her, was also very tasty. Here's the thing with Missy's, they cater to a more modest clientele so if you are looking for a grand dining "experience" don't go there. BUT, if you are looking for a place that serves great tasting, food at reasonable prices, drop in. While you are there you should see that the staff are friendly, the coffee cups are refilled promptly and the portion size is pretty darn impressive. Both times I was there, I looked over the desert menu board and if it is accurate, oh, my God! the selection was huge which was something I didn't expect. But then again, it's a diner what more could you want. read more

Five stars because it was exactly what I expected. Good food, fair prices, hometown service, layed back atmosphere. Bigger than I expected inside. Delicious cheese sauce! Great burger. Not some tiny little patty that is called a burger. Would recommend. Would return. read more

Been here twice. I'll go back. This is a local diner so that's what you'll get here. The menu is heavy on breakfast, pies, stuff like that. I ate breakfast twice, both times after noon. I went here the first time after reading a review on yelp. We "yelpers" need to stick together, LOL. This place isn't great but the food is pretty good if you are looking for diner food. I would have given 4 stars if the interior was a little nicer and if they took American Express (my work credit card). It's a solid 3 star though. I recommend this place. read more

Decor was somewhat confusing, not sure what look they are going for...maybe a tacky look? Gave two stars because they are very friendly otherwise would have been just one Husband and I both ordered tenderloins which they are supposed to be famous for. The presentation was nice, good color, nice breading. But unfortunately there was no taste. The pork had no flavor neither did the breading. Disappointing. I ordered mine as the dinner with gravy on the side and French fries. The gravy was served in a large plastic cereal looking bowl. Yuck! Largest side of gravy I have ever seen. Wondering if it was the last of the on or something and they needed to get rid of it. I was literally probably 3 cups of gravy...the brown instant type. Dipped my spoon in to try it, that's all I needed of that. Fries were under cooked and super greasy. The mayonnaise that was served with the tenderloin was very flavorless and generic tasting. We also had a kiddo with us she had grilled cheese and cottage cheese. She enjoyed hers but how does one mess either of those up? We were waiting for the waitress to come back as we wanted to order a piece of pie but she never came back over after waiting quite a while. As we were walking toward the pay station she hollered from a distance "no room for desert?' Yes we had room, she just didn't have time apparently...ended our evening with desert at a local ice cream shop Bill with tip $37 (regretting going ESPECIALLY after being told the total) Will not return. Friendly service, terrible food. read more

Went to breakfast Today(10:30Am) & Had a Lazy waitress with only 2 tables Including Mine, took my order & then did not come back to my table Until my food was ready, that`s when she asked if i needed more coffee & water, which were both Empty. She brought back a much bigger Glass of water & refilled my coffee & left me the check. Did not want to refill that often i guess, I watched her Blow her nose behind the counter Throw away the tissue into the garbage can & then Immediately pick up the Next food order out of the Kitchen window Without even sanitizing her hands. another Employee was drinking in the Kitchen . The food was Nothing Special, Hash browns were done on only 1 Side, Saugage links were Fat & Greasy, & not fully cooked, The toast was the best part of my 2 Eggs,Hashbrown,& saugage link meal. She finaly came over to remove My plate & come with More coffee, After the other table in the room was gone. I had better Service For lunch about a week ago when i came in with my wife & mother-in-law for the 1st time. The Place was actually full then & my meal( Hot Beef open face sandwich) was Very Good. I will not be Back for Breakfast Ever & won`t be back anytime soon, unless they get their Employees Under control, It`s During the Coronovirus You would think they would Teach them Better sanitation Methods. I use to be a Busboy/Waiter Years ago & always Leave a Good tip, But Not this time! read more

Our favorite Sunday morning breakfast. Love everything about the place. You will definitely have leftovers. Tenderloin is the best in town.

Great food, with very good prices. I am a corporate pilot and this is the best deal I've found in the Peoria area.

Stopped for lunch with my son on Thursday. Food was okay but the staff was not desirable. We could hear a women yelling at staff members about unacceptable work and work effort. A waitress reached across our table of food to get the sugar and cream bowls then reached across again to put them back. When we paid there wasn't any emotion from the cashier at all. No thank you, how was your food, come again, etc. Not professional at all probably won't be back. read more

First time ever dining here. The service is superb and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the horseshoe breakfast. A plate full of food including a biscuit, American fries, meat and eggs all smothered with gravy. I added cheese to mine and it did not disappoint! I will never step foot into this establishment EVER again. I had one of the worst experiences of my life at this place. The food was mediocre, the service was below average and, the two cooks felts as if it was ok to carry on a racist conversation while the dinning guests could hear them. I was shock and appalled to hear one of the cooks tell another that he was "an equal opportunity racist." I couldn't believe I was hearing that type of language in a public place. I was offended, hurt, uncomfortable and, upset that none of the other employees asked the two cooks to stop having that type of conversation in front of guests. I paid for my meal and left immediately. When I got in my car I was even more upset that I didn't say anything so I called in to speak with the manager. She wasn't there so I told the person on the phone to let the owner know that it's not right for her cooks to talk like that at a public establishment. The woman on the phone brushed me off and said she'll let the owner know. By the tone of her voice I knew she wouldn't relay the message. This place needs to be shut down. read more
