After our sincere conversation it seems there was a misunderstanding on both our parts which led to the unfortunate situation. Cathy was a joy to work with, she followed our desire to recover our big leather chairs that had been scared by our two kitties Orville & Wilbur when thay were kittens. We needed a small repair on a 15 year old car seat. I was turned away, (some places treated rudely) from 7 upholstery shops in Spring Branch, New Braunfels, Seguin, Canyon Lake, Cibolo, and north San Antonio. I made a call to Cathy at Mission Upholstery, and she took an immediate interest in the car seat, I texted some pics for her, and she agreed to do it that day, NO hassles, NO conditions, Just a friendly chat and a welcoming attitude. When I brought her the seat the next morning, I was greeted with the same cheerful demeanor, and we visited about cell phones, covid, church, friends, family, world events....I made a friend that day!!!. Recently, we needed to have 8 dining chair seats re-padded at my mother's house because the cushions had all but disappeared. We are so glad that a good friend recommended Mission Upholstery to do the job. Kathy, the owner, is a real jewel to work with and very professional. She learned and honed her skills from working with her Father who opened their shop in Boerne many decades ago. She has worked at this craft for her entire life! With her know-how and dedication to her customers, she was able to save and re-use the faux-leather material on every one of the chair seats! I know that this took extra time and effort on her part. We greatly appreciated the savings it allowed us to not have to change out the material on the bottoms of all 8 chairs! I recently had a chair cushion redone. Cathy was an absolute joy to work with. She is a genuinely nice person and works hard at her craft. The seat I had done was from an old rocker that my parents had that I recently received and the seat was a bit broken down. Without my requesting it they did a little crafty handiwork to secure the spring and support underneath and then proceeded to recover the chair exactly the way I wanted. The owner Is really a sweetheart. She is swamped with work, which is a good thing. It may take a little bit to get your piece done, but she really does beautiful and high quality work. I was absolutely stunned by the quick turn around! Most upholstery places I have used in the past have an 8 week wait or longer! Granted, I only had a small project, but still , you get the idea from talking to the owner that a quick turn around is something that this company , which has been doing upholstery in the Boerne area since the 70s (!), takes seriously. This commitment , plus the fine workmanship which is as good as any I have seen, will make me a loyal customer. The prices are fair to reasonable, also! An added bonus: very convenient to the bustling Leon Springs-Fair Oaks Ranch area! One caveat: Don't let the small shop's location throw you a curve - it is located in the workshop area behind the home on W. Theissen street in Boerne (park on the street and walk around the sidewalk to the left of the home). read more
