I found a number of items and paid for them. I did not have my buggy with me and the store was closing and there was no time to go home and return with my buggy to put my purchases in. The clerk behind the counter said I could leave my bagged purchases with them there and she would put them in a safe spot and I could return another time with my buggy to retrieve my purchased goods. I asked her to write my name and phone number on the receipt before taping it to the bags. I later ran into the same clerk on the street and spoke with her about me coming to pick up my purchases and explained that it's been hard for me and I was still processing my dad's death and apologized for my delay in coming to get my purchases. She immediately said to me, and to another store employee who was with her at the time, that she remembered me. Although, she said, the store was taken over by the owner's nephew and my purchases were no longer at the store. I asked how that could be, because my name and phone number were taped onto the receipt placed on the bags that contained the goods I had purchased. I asked why no one had bothered to call me? I explained that when the store took my money and then also took my purchases then the store was essentially stealing from me, their customer. She had no answers for me. The other employee took my name and phone number and said she would give it to the nephew who took over the store and he would call me and reimburse me the money I paid. Fast forward many months later and no phone call, and no reimbursement. What kind of business steals from their customers? There's no integrity. I will not walk through their doors and will not spend my money at a business that is dishonest and unscrupulous.

It's one of the oldest pubs in the city! But now it's VINTAGE DEPOT. I was surprised with the great organization and selection at this store. I don't think I've been to either of the other Vintage Depot locations in the city but I hope they're as awesome as this one. Clothes are organized into categories/sections and then by SIZE and COLOUR. I've never seen a thrift store that does this. Bravo! TONS of shoes, including designer. TONS of vintage Adidas and other sportswear. TONS of purses, hats (new and used) and uniforms (military, factory, coveralls and professional onesies of all kinds). This would be a fabulous place to source costumes for Halloween, costume parties or theatre/film productions. Staff seemed to be mostly young and male, all were extremely helpful and friendly.

The selections are just like any value village. It's random and you never know what you'll find. The reason I'm giving such a low score is because the service. I had staff walk into me, reach across me to stock shelves, etc during covid. Nevermind that, I found items not tagged that I wanted to buy. Lined up a while to pay because despite having a massive line up, they only open two cash and the other staff are wandering around the store. We get there and then she tells us we can't pay cause she can't price it. Frustrated would be an understatement. If you can't feely untagged items, why are there so many on your floor? There's like 2-3 staff constantly circling the sections checking the items and putting things back. Waste of time... And I've been here a few times now. Never a great experience considering your expectations for value village shouldn't be all that high to start.
