Restaurant supply places are odd. It's like... you're totally intrigued by all this stuff you see at restaurants that you can buy yourself, but really you don't need that stuff. Except for the snow cone maker. You for sure need that. Anyway, I was in there getting some menu stands. You know, the ones that hold up stuff you print from your computer and make it look fancy? Those kinds. I picked up about 8, took them to the counter and gasped when I realized these bits of clear plastic were $12 each. I didn't have time to price compare or order on Amazon so I just went ahead and purchased them. I left those bad boys at the event in San Antonio so when I needed to re-up for my event, I went to a spot on N Lamar. Lo and behold, just 2 miles up the road you can get them for $8. I dont know what drives that particular price increase. Looked like they have a good selection and it's definitely an adventure but I'd probably shop around if you're needing to save a little green. read more

Very friendly, and very helpful folks. I called ahead and verified that they had what I needed, got there, and was greeted within a minute or so of walking through the door. Anyway, went there today for my birthday because I was in an Ace-Mart rut and just needed to mix it up like a mixing bowl and poof, insert MRS here into this equation.... While on a mission in Mission, the staff did the nicest thing for me ever!! I told them it was my birthday and the cool guy gave me not only a cutting board but a spatula!! I was like WHAT THE? YEAY! I went here for a growler, and I got what I came for, a growler, for less than what I've paid elsewhere here in town. I also picked up a couple items for my liquor cabinet -- a real cocktail shaker (I've been content with a leaky plastic one I picked up at Walmart ages ago, and a nominally better plastic one I picked up somewhere else fairly recently, but every liquor cabinet needs a real, metal cocktail shaker), a cocktail strainer, a cocktail spoon (for those stirred, not shaken, martinis), and a 2-measure cocktail jigger (can you tell I had a theme for my non-growler purchases?). Honestly, I came here ONLY for the growler but I couldn't pass up the selection and prices of things here, most things a few dollars below Target, Walmart (ick!) and wherever I've thought to look for cocktail "things". The layout is kind of confusing and seemingly haphazard, but it appears everything is at least where it should be -- glassware with glassware, barware with barware, mixing bowls and cups with mixing bowls and cups, other stuff with, well, other stuff. This isn't really aimed at the casual consumer -- I didn't see carts or baskets (maybe they were there, I didn't look closely), which is probably a good thing because I would have probably walked out with a whole lot more "stuff" I really didn't need. As others have mentioned, if you want bar/restaurant-type glassware or supplies and actually pay for it, this is your place. They have things from straws to big kitchen appliances to kitchen cleaning supplies to those little hotdog ovens you see in convenience stores. I'm not sure how they are in pricing overall -- like, would I come here to stock my entire bar or cafe, or is there some other local/online retail place that commercial buyers go to furnish their kitchen? But for my quick trip and small needs, I got what I needed at a decent price. I would like to come back and just explore more, see what doo-dads and doo-hickies I can pick up for my kitchen. I'll probably also expand my collection of liquor cabinet supplies as well -- for another $20, I can set up my bar quite nicely. Also, the staff is pretty helpful and friendly. read more

I have driven by Mission Restaurant Supply for so many years just wondering what was inside, and on a whim one day I finally went inside. I felt like I was in a special wonderland. Have you ever been at a restaurant and thought, "Man, I'd like to have one of those (insert thing here)" ? That's what led me to buy a cheese grater similar to the ones they use on salads at Italian restaurants. There were so many great things to chose from. The selection was wonderful, and the prices were unbelievable. I think that the next time I want to start a kitchen from scratch, I'm coming here. It's been a long time since I've been here, but today I needed some kitchen tools and I was in the neighborhood so I stopped by. It's open to the public, has good parking, and a helpful staff. I bought an 8 quart stainless steel bowl and a couple of large serving spoons. All of this was under $20.00 dollars. That was pretty good for me considering I could go crazy and by a lot of other stuff. I will be going back for some other items that I will need for the holiday season coming up. We needed to order a frozen drink machine. The entire process has been disorganized and unprofessional. We needed to lease to purchase, Denise from the lending department made personal jabs at my personal credit score which was uncalled for. After being approved, nobody at Mission can tell us where or when the machine will be delivered. I ordered this machine over a month ago. It is in stock but we still have not received it and we have been given dates that it will be delivered and take time to plan for delivery but the machine still has not been delivered. The sales team responds with 1 sentence answers and is not helpful at all. I used to absolutely love Mission Restuarant Supply but I am very disappointed in the service we have received and would let all my friends in the bar industry not to buy from Mission RS. We had a commercial freezer that was broken. I had MULTIPLE problems with the previous company who came out to service the unit. Deborah is the service coordinator with Mission and the first voice I heard when I called. She was professional, courteous, and polite. She listened to my needs because I work in a secure facility so you cant just "drop by". Then the tech came out.... Robert was also awesome. Robert was professional, kept me informed, was polite, and FIXED IT. We had numerous problems with the company we had out prior to Mission! We will not be using anyone else from here out!!! This is more for ordering online. Okay, Selection and prices are great, but holy crap are their organizational skills bad... My dad had ordered a gigantic immersion blender for me that was waaay too big, so he returned it and they were very nice about it- gave him a coupon code I could use etc. The first time I used it I forgot to hit redeem coupon on the website(yeah my fault) so I called and reported the mishap- they said they took off the charges. It took two weeks longer then they said to actually receive the items, then they sent me bills despite have apparently taken the charges off. Meanwhile telling me I had a balance of nearly $70 left on my coupon code... I try to use this code and it doesn't work...Eventually I call back to ask what's up and the lady tells me she had added too much to the balance so she had made the code void- but NEVER TOLD ME... So long story short, good selection and prices, bad communication. I'm sure the store is better. read more

bought a sandwich prep table online though these guys. After using it for 7 exact days, the unit started pooling water on the bottom of the unit. I called the manufacturer (Arctic air) to have this fixed and a technician came out. It was the design issue where the drain pan was arched and water drips weren't going though the drain hole in the middle. Instead, it accumulated on both sides of drain pan and was over flowing. The technician put nut bolts on both ends hoping it would raise both sides so the water can be directed to the drain hole and it still didn't fix the problem. So I called the missionrs to see if what they can do to take care of their customers, but all they told me was once it leaves their hands, they are no longer responsible for it. So my logic here is that if you buy something at a store, from amazon for example, they help consumers to resolve the issue, not just sell their product and flee with profit. A unit over $1000 having problems within a week. Who knows what other problems it will cause later on. I looked up their return policy and it didnt say anything about defected products. they sold a defected item, and need to stand up for them. And the rep who answered the call said "feel free to do whatever you want. That is wonderful. thanks for calling" in a sarcastic manner and just hung up. Worst customer service. They dont stand up for their products. and just money hungry business that runs the business like back in the 50s. Note for new customers. When you buy their items, just hope your unit is in a good working and lasting condition. read more

There have been only a couple of times I needed someone immediately and they didn't have anyone available to come out, but I continue to call back every time. You'll do a lot better price-wise here than in the big-box houseware stores. Nothing fancy. Just stuff that works. I'll certainly be back. I give it only 4 stars because their posted online prices are lower than the in-store prices. Not a lot, maybe 20%, and the prices here are low enough that it doesn't really matter much. We ordered some supplies online to be delivered to our business. Their drivers claim that we "Refused" the order, however, that never happened, nor did they have any signed documentation stating that we refused the order. Instead of correcting their own mistake, they charged us twice for freight, and more to cancel the order. Horrible company to transact with. I do not recommend. read more
