Such a cute neighborhood coffee shop with the best cozy vibes. We stopped by early in the morning and it was the perfect, calm start to the day. There's some outdoor seating too, which makes it even nicer on a good weather day. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and you can tell they genuinely care about the experience. I had been wanting to try their Lavender Latte after seeing it on Instagram, and it did not disappoint. The presentation alone is beautiful, with 2 little sprigs of lavender on top, so you can smell the lavender as you sip. It wasn't overly sweet either, which I really appreciated. We also got a black coffee and a Kouign amann. This place doubles as a little gift shop, which is honestly dangerous in the best way for me! Cute earrings, mugs, postcards, totes, and lots of fun trinkets. Such a great neighborhood gem. Would definitely come back!
Came here for coffee and it was alright. There wasn't anything special in it... Perhaps elsewhere has better coffee offering...
What a great find this café was in Visitacion Valley. We stopped in to pick up a coffee before we headed up to McLaren Park by foot. The dirty chai I had was exceptional. The shop offers an incredible variety of gifts that are made locally for the most part. I picked up some awesome socks for our annual book club gift exchange. Lots of beautiful handmade earrings for sale- I wanted to purchase more items yet I would've had to carry them with me on my walk. Very well done café with super friendly service.
Mission Blue is the name of an endangered species butterfly native to San Francisco. My friend told this because he needed environmental permits in order to do construction near the San Bruno Mountains. Regardless, nice neighborhood gift/coffee shop. My iced coffee was ready before I finished paying the cashier. It did take a few minutes for the two hot coffees though. The young beautiful ladies that work here are pros. While waiting, I picked up a tote bag. You can never have enough of those in the trunk for groceries. Great job everyone at Mission Blue.
came on a monday at 11am, pretty empty but a few patrons were sitting outside. the interior is mainly a marketplace for local artists, which is fun to browse while waiting for your drink! there is only outdoor seating, with a handful of metal tables outside and a cute courtyard nearby. my order was taken quickly and the worker that took my order was so sweet! she gave me recommendations on both drinks and pastries. i ended up getting an iced latte and danish. seeing that their signature drink was a lavender latte (my favorite), i was super excited to try this place out lavender latte (7/10): the presentation is super cute, with a fresh sprig of lavender on top. the lavender flavor is present but not too overwhelming, and the espresso is not too bitter or strong. it's the right level of sweetness but i wish the espresso was a bit stronger. cheese danish (7.5/10): danish is soft with the right amount of crunch (not too hard). the cheese leans more sweet than tangy and i like how the berry jam adds a pop of freshness! i would definitely come back to get their lavender latte again and try their other pastries (and the vanilla latte)!
A cute small gift shop and coffee spot. It's the end route of section 2 of the crosstown trail. Got to try whatever they have there. Ordered lychee ice tea and picked up coffee cake. Tea was refreshing and cake hit the spot. Picked up a couple of earrings too. The shop also sell crosstown merch if you need one. There is a shady spots with a few benches to the side of the cafe, along with porta potty if you need to use it. There is a great mural of humming bird and local flowers on the wall in front of the benches.

It's a June special so highly recommend while it's still here. We also got a fruit danish and it was delicious as well. All reasonably priced too (under $11 for both items). The inside of the store has a ton of gifts and trinkets for sale from local businesses -- very fun to browse while you wait for your order. They have a good amount of outdoor seating, and it's located right next to a beautiful courtyard that's conveniently part of the crosstown trail!
3.5 Stars for me. They have excellent service, and I really appreciate how they support small businesses by offering merch from local makers in-store. The place is packed with cute items like earrings, stickers, mugs, candles, toys, postcards, and more. I ordered a matcha latte with vanilla sweetener, but it didn't quite hit the spot for me. It was milkier than I prefer, with the matcha flavor getting a bit lost. That said, I've heard great things about their other drinks and wish I had the chance to try more!

I saw someone mention that they stopped here on the crossroads trail & i noticed they had a little section here just for that, which is super unique and fun! Lots of local art and goodies, and a reeeeally delicious mocha -- piping hot, just the right amount of sweetness, and a rich chocolate flavor that doesn't detract from the espresso. Love that they have a whipped cream option (every coffee shop should have this tbh) Staff who helped us was super friendly and noticed that we were doing the Crosstown Hike. Such a wholesome start to our day :)
Just flew in from Alaska and had the BEST introduction to San Francisco at Mission Blue. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting, the coffee was absolutely delicious, and the baristas truly know their community and neighbors, which you don't see much these days. Safe to say this has been my favorite coffee spot since arriving!
saw this on the top 7 of the 2024 list of US top 25 coffee shops and this was the only SF one, so I had to come. the interior is an adorable shop selling trinkets like candles, stickers, charms, jewelry, bags, etc., so you can browse around while waiting for your drink! the pastries are sourced from various bakeries, and the coffee is saint frank's coffee. we ordered an iced soy lavender latte ($5.75) and an iced oat coconut ube latte ($5.75+$0.50). the lavender latte had a really strong lavender flavor if you're into that! I liked the coconut ube latte better but it was very sweet. overall a fun shop and menu, would recommend!

In addition to the creative atmosphere, they also have a great variety of coffee options on the menu. The cashier was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering suggestions based on my preferences. I mentioned that I enjoy London Fog, and she recommended trying their Lavender Fog, which is similar but with a hint of lavender. I gave it a try, and honestly, it was even better. The subtle lavender flavor and the little garnish on top made it feel extra special. This is definitely a spot I would return to.

Mission Blue has made a fan out of me! This small coffee shop is so cute. What brought me in was wanting to try the Lavender Latte. When I got there, the barista was able to tell me so much more about the drinks and gave me additional recommendations. I stuck with the Lavender Latte and it was so good and creamy with oat milk. I love the detail of the Lavender served on the lid. I did enjoy all the handmade items available for purchase however, I was sad to see there was nowhere inside for me to be cozy and enjoy my coffee. Regardless, it is a cute spot and I would love to go back and support this small businesses. read more

This review is long overdue because I've been coming to Mission Blue since 2019! Not only do they make delicious drinks (big fan of the Ube Coconut Latte, Vis Valley Fog, chai, and so many of their seasonal specials!) they also support local bakers and artists. On any day of the week, you can find a variety of sweet and savory treats that pair wonderfully with your handcrafted beverage. My office is located in the neighborhood, so I've gotten to know the incredible team over the years and they are an instrumental part of the community. From showcasing gorgeous art and handmade gifts to hosting pop-ups with local vendors, Mission Blue is a standout small business. Can't wait for my next Gingerbread Latte! read more

HUGE fan of this neighborhood spot! Came by with my family and ordered a few drinks, and browsed the shop. Ordered: - Thai iced coffee (cinnamon on top): loved it, wasn't too sweet and the cinnamon was a nice touch! - Hot cocoa: sister said it was good. - Mocha: mom liked it, and price point was great when considering it's a neighborhood spot and the bougie places are charging even more! It's hard to decide where to start - the creative delicious drinks, incredibly welcoming baristas, fantastic selection of gifts by local artisans, or the feeling of being home every time you step inside Mission Blue! I'm a decaf drinker (I know, don't come for me!) and the decaf at Mission Blue is so good, it makes me feel like a real adult haha! I love the specials that encourage me to try a little something different, while my go to drinks are always consistent no matter who makes them. Sometimes I pop in just because I want to see the staff. They're not just friendly; they are genuine. Kind with kiddos and pups, patient with elders, and really great at creating the perfect cup! I'm a regular, and I still find new pieces and fun gifts each week that make me say "when did this get here?!" My friends are lucky because a visit to Mission Blue often results in a friend receiving a just because gift - just because I saw it and it was perfect for so and so, and I just had to get it! The shop is full of earrings, apparel, candles, prints, pottery, and original paintings all by local artists. I like keeping my money local - it's perfect! I grew up and still live in this neighborhood, but I've never before been so engaged and in touch with my neighbors and community. Kellie and Ken (Mission Blue's owners) did that. Probably the most unique and special part of this coffee and gift shop is its owners' infectious joy and their impact on our community. Community doesn't just happen - it's built. And Mission Blue along with other dedicated Leland businesses and Vis Valley neighbors have built community. Come by on a Saturday and see the plaza next door filled with families enjoying live music and pop-ups invited in by Kellie. Join the neighborhood clean-up on Tuesdays that meet at the shop. Or the Mothers Walking Group on Thursdays that start their mini-adventures on the block. Mission Blue is a stop along The Crosstown Trail, so I often see new folks walking through and visiting the shop for the first time. It delights me to see their eyes widen with their first look! It's that "oooh we've found a gem and need to come back" look. And I know they will. read more

I was in the area and stopped in for some coffee. The staff is so welcoming and the coffee is delicious. I didn't even put my regular tablespoon of sugar in it. The pastries are amazing as well. There isn't any indoor seating but the outdoor area is charming and off the street. read more

5/5 for the food, service, and location. This coffee shop is so great! And it's nice because I feel like it brings the neighborhood together. The staff is so nice here and they offer amazing pastries. I got the Iced Chai Latte with a pastry and it was delightful. It was a perfect breakfast after running multiple errands. Parking is street parking all around, and it's easy to find this place after walking. Great drinks, great people, will definitely stop by again if i'm in the area! read more
