We were in the neighborhood and craving barbecue... saw Mission barbecue and decided to pop in. It was fairly early...Saturday evening at 5:30 and only a few people in the restaurant. We had a few questions and Jamal pulled us over to the side and said let me explain everything to you. He was very nice! We settled on 2 meat platters with sides and a brisket sandwich. What a fantastic experience everyone was so cool and helpful. There were 4 of us and they helped us decide what to eat, we ended up getting a little bit of everything. From brisket to pulled pork up to turkey to baby back ribs. The sides were coleslaw, baked beans and the most delicious mac & cheese that I've ever eaten. I wish I could remember everybody's names, but it was January 23 Friday evening at 8 o'clock. Everybody was absolutely fantastic! You could definitely tell the team worked together and really enjoyed their jobs. The food was delicious, full of flavor and you could tell everything was fresh made.. we had a pleasure sitting talking with a woman named Janet who was a Customer Service personality specialist, she was lovely. Checked this spot out on a Saturday evening. We sat outside which was nice and open. The insude was clean. You order at the counter, they call your name and you pick up. We had the 1/2 smoked chicken with baked beans and coleslaw, and the smoked burger with a side of Mac and cheese. The chicken came with a serving of cornbread. I tried the chicken and I was not a fan. It lacked seasoning for me. The burger was the same, no seasoning otherwise it was good, all the sides were excellent. The cornbread was a bit dry but good. I would return to try the ribs another time. They do have sauces for you to try on your meats. read more

The service is usually good here. Except there's one girl who always has to interrupt when a cashier is speaking to us when taking our order, I don't know her name but I'm going to ask next time. My daughter order the 3 neat plate. One piece of sausage one slice of the thinnest brisket you've ever seen and some pulled pork. The brisket was so thin you could see through it! The pulled pork had been cooked several days before, you could tell it had been cold then reheated to death. The meal was $30!! With a drink. The potato was clearlyyyyy cooked the day prior with a gray tint to it. I've eaten at this chain a bunch on vacation in other states. As a Florida native, worst bbq in 50 miles. It was our first visit to Mission barbecue. Place wasn't very busy and we walked straight up to the counter where the guy announced immediately we're out of ribs and pulled pork. Now in my book, those are the two staple things that keep the place going out of barbecue and it was Thursday night at about 630. So I ordered the brisket and my wife ordered the pulled chicken. I had a side of greens collard greens that is. And both orders came with cornbread. It's one of those places where you order at the counter and you take your food and sit at the table. We decided to take ours home. There are six different sauces and we had a little sampling of all. The brisket was good. The pulled chicken was fair. The pulled chicken was very heavily seasoned. Not spicy but a lot of seasoning on it. The brisket was perfect and it went down very well. I ate every Bite. We're on kind of a diet so neither of us ate the cornbread, but it looked really really good. I guess we're gonna have to give him another shot because I really wanted to have the ribs. No barbecue place should run out of ribs at 6:30 at night or pulled pork. read more

Not a big fan of "go up to the counter to order your food and go get it when called" style restaurants, so that was a negative for me. Was really looking for a sit down, relax while checking out the menu, and have a server. Must have made 6 trips for food, condiments, utensils, drink refill, wet nap, etc. Everything a la carte... not crazy about that. Didn't like having to find the least dirty table and clean it myself. Being a veteran I liked the theme. Not sure we'll be back cause I think we can do better for what we got vs. what we spent. read more

Delicious! The food here is top notch, brisket, pulled pork sandwiches, and more. The cornbread side is also amazing. Mission BBQ will also have some seasonal cobblers, and my favorite has to be the apple cobbler which you can get in fall (if I remember correctly.) My husband and I have eaten here nine or ten times and have been satisfied by the food; it was exceptional on our first visit and has been satisfactory there after. I love the brisket, sausages and most sides. On Saturday, I wanted to try something new. I decided on the salmon which was hard and dry on the first bite. They kindly exchanged it for another meal, and since I had never tried the wings, that was my choice. The wings were a huge let-down. For a smoked and then flash-fried product, they didn't have a smokey flavor -- odd because the chain Stick Fingers smokes and flash fries their wings, and they taste like smoke. These were tasteless, lacked seasoning, and downright disappointing to say the least. I only ate two and stopped, my husband tried one and stopped eating after the first bite. The brisket on my husband's plate was ordered moist, so fat is to be expected, but there was almost as much fat as meat and was basically not an enjoyable experience. I had green beans and after three bites I realized that what I thought was pot liquor turned out to be pure oil. This made my stomach upset and I ended up getting sick when I got home. I'm still feeling sick this morning. I hate to say this because I love the mission behind Mission, but I don't think we'll be eating at this location again. read more

Where is falls short-ribs. While the burger meal is a normal size, generous fries, the ribs were small, not at all a generous portion, not meaty, and way overpriced for the quality. For an order at the counter, seat yourself, serve yourself, dump your tray experience, I'd never go back. It's a shame as it has a lot of potential when you walk in and the reviews are fairly decent. For what I spent I'd march rather go somewhere like Outback or Texas Roadhouse where you are waited on, portions are much bigger not to mention better ambiance, at table service, and plenty of extras for around the same price. read more
