I'm a huge Mission BBQ fan. They ate one of the most consistent restraunt chains out there. This was my first trip, but will not be my last. Super and friendly service at the counter to kick off my visit. The dining room was spic and span. My order was a two meat platter of, pulled pork and lean brisket w/ side of green beans. It comes with cornbread. My son moist brisket, pulled pork w/ side of macaroni and cheese. Also cornbread. The manager expedited the food and was awesome! Then he came out to bring slices of smoked sausage samples. After learning we had a new customer/ to the store the desert flowed out by the manager. A cherry cheesecake. Our meals were amazing, especially our fave the pulled pork. Upon departing staff came by to take our trays. Otherwise it's self bussing. No reason to not elevate to full 5 stars. read more

The staff is always friendly and accommodating here. I'm a single mom and have young children and a manager once went out of his way to help me get a high chair and wrangle my kids to a table, even bringing refills once for them. The food is pricey but to be expected for BBQ I always get the brisket and add on a third side and it's about $30 a pop. This time it was late about closing and the brisket was very dry. I would go earlier in the day to avoid getting the dry leftovers. The sauces are okay, the Mac and cheese is very good. Overall a great place to dine. read more

I knew very little about this BBQ restaurant named Mission BBQ, but by the time I went in and came out, I not only was full of having eaten an amazingly delicious BBQ meal, but of the knowledge of what this restaurant is all about. The mission of Mission BBQ is "To serve authentic barbecue and honor those who serve the country." They believe that barbecue is a quintessential American food. And they serve their food to honor those who protect and serve this country. When I arrived at the restaurant I was thrilled to enter its doors and when I did I discovered something that is rarely seen. Their Mission Statement was coming alive through the patriotic decor of the restaurant and through the "servant's heart" of their employees. It is said that actions speak louder than words. Well this is the case with this business, through all the things they do to appreciate and support the military, firefighters, police, and first responders; as well as their families. Through how their employees treated me, I could honestly say that they truly put people first. They put the needs of others above their own; and this is the heart of what customer service should be all about and of the American Spirit. I walked to the ordering counter and a young lady warmly greeted me with a smile and when she found out this was my first time there she gladly explained to me about the restaurant, its food, and how to order. She not only made me feel at home, but made me feel proud to be an American. I ordered a plate with Pulled Pork and Brisket with fries, and a Dr Pepper to drink. As soon as my order was ready, my name was called and I went to pick it up. In the meantime I walked around the restaurant observing all the photographs, momentos, and tributes of many local servicemen who had proudly served their country and passed away. Who I think was the manager observed me and came by to meet me and say hello. He too was very friendly and explained to me the restaurant and how their food is prepared daily, and gave me a tour of some of the tributes on the wall explaining who they were. Now as to the food, it was amazingly delicious. I enjoyed the soft and moist pulled pork, the brisket, and the corn bread, together with all the sauces available to try and put on your meats. Since this was my first time there the manager also gave me some other items to try: a little piece of the chicken, the soft brisket, the rib, and to end a Blueberry Cobler. The chicken was moist and tasty, the soft brisket was even better than the regular one and tastier, and the rib was so tender that the meat just rubbed off. I even found out their secret to how they cook their ribs to come out this good. And the Blueberry Cobler; I've had different Coblers before, but this one was out of this world! I highly recommend this restaurant to all those who are reading my review and encourage you to view my photographs because a picture is worth more than a thousand words. Good food as usual today. A little skimpy on the meat on my brisket platter though. The real irritation is that my wife's and my lunch cost $48.51 without a tip. Nothing extra added...two platters with two sides each and two drinks. That's two expensive. (pun intended). I realize good Q is costly but dang, lunch shouldn't cost that much. Stopped here for lunch on our way home. I always enjoy good BBQ and Mission BBQ is one of my favorite places. I always order the yard bird ( 1/2 BBQ chicken) which is so tender and perfectly seasoned. My sides were coleslaw and green beans which were extra. Tender cornbread comes with the meal. Of course many other menu items but the chicken is my favorite. A bunch of different BBQ sauces on the table to choose from. The staff is friendly and accomadating. The atmosphere comfortable. As a matter of fact everyday at noon, patrons are asked to rise and sing the Star Spangled Banner. A very patriotic moment. Prices are reasonable and the BBQ is just great. read more

I've debated coming to Mission BBQ before on Thanksgiving to find out they're closed which I find odd. The turkey is good but not close to the green beans no contest. The story behind the place, the managers, the staff walking around just checking on us , and the the food... The brisket is very good. The sandwiches have a lot of meat. It comes with one tiny piece of corn bread. I didn't care for the buns or the cornbread. The soda machines are thick syrupy and splatter all over your hands when dispensing. And they charge around $5 per normal size drink...YIKES! Came here recently to pick up some BBQ for the ride home after hiking. We do not live in the area, but really love Mission BBQ. Unfortunately, there is just not one near us in Charlotte. Service during this COVID time was great. Went right in and ordered for take out and they were fast, considering how busy they were in the middle of the afternoon. They had people coming and going with takeout orders, but I never felt unsafe. What we got: 1 1/2 pound pulled chicken - this is our favorite, very good and properly seasoned. Pulled pork - not my favorite pulled pork, but it is still very good Cheese Sausage - love the cheesy sausage, which is good because it has a nice spicy kick to it. Pork Ribeye - meh, I was disappointed in this. Just needed more. Luckily it is only a seasonal item so we know not to get this one again. Potato Salad - what is this crack seasoning? This potato salad has some sort of seasoning that is so amazingly good! Wish we got a larger portion, but we had not had their potato salad before. Mac and Cheese - I love mac and cheese and while I've had theirs before and would continue to get it, it is not the best. It is not bad either, it's just like the pork in this instance. I've had much better elsewhere, but I can still enjoy it here. Peach Cobbler - AMAZING! I wish this were not a seasonal item, but I love the peach, love the gooeyness of the filling, and overall sweetness of this dessert. We've had it before, so we stocked up to bring some home to freeze. We should have gotten more... Status: unsuccessful :( High hopes for an 'authentic,' rustic bbq experience were dashed with dry meats. ++ Located in the well-known Towers Shopping Centre, parking was not an issue. Once you enter, walk straight all the way up where two registers and overhead menu boards greet you. You can look right into the open kitchen. Staff were reasonably friendly and helpful. After ordering and paying, grab a drink cup and walk straight up to the right to the condiment station with two soft drink machines and drawers with extra supplies, like sweetners, salt, and straws. Food came out so fast that we were still pouring drinks and trying to figure out where everything was (it took me a few minutes to find straws in the drawer which I didn't even realise was there). Food highlights were cool slaw, mac n' cheese, and classic sausages. Fries and baked beans were good but nothing to write home about. - - Now the disappointments - 1/4 lb brisket and 5 bone bay-b-back ribs were unbelievably dry and stiff, and we scraped the plan to take leftovers home. No one came around to ask how we were doing until after we'd finished eating and were still reeling from the dry meats, but credit to the gentleman who came over and seemed genuinely sorry about our negative experience.
