Best pizza in state college. But, sometimes they burn it, so it gets stale really fast. Other than that, best.

Titan Hollow - Old fashioned and a cosmo

We walked in expecting a typical dining experience with a menu but found out things had changed…read moredramatically. Our hostess, who we later found out was the owner, explained to us that if we wanted food, we could order it from outside where there was a traveling chef with a pizza oven. This was a big change from the usual menu and what we had expected. We decided to go with the flow, take a seat at the Ouija board table, place our drink orders, and go outside to order food. This week the chef had a woodfired pizza oven. Keep in mind, cider is the focus here. So, my husband's old fashioned was made with cider. Hearing this, I asked for my cider on the side rather than in my cosmo. We learned that the owner's background is movie set design and that she worked on movies like Harry Potter, so the decor was a combination of old industrial plant and haunted house. The bar had "potions" with smoke oozing out. There were also skeletons and skulls throughout the restaurant along with spooky photos that changed from normal to scary. She even allowed us to explore the different back rooms one of which she called the "swamp room." The pizza was good, and we enjoyed listening to the live music which wasn't overwhelmingly loud. Overall, everyone was kind and made us feel welcome. We later ordered the blueberry cobbler for dessert which was warm and tasty.

For an area with slim vegan pickings, this felt like a gold mine. We ended up trying a few menu items and they were all delicious and tasted quite fresh. My biggest gripe was that the risotto was made with a medium grain rice rather than a traditional Arborio, and that the prices for food were on the higher end given the portion sizes. The cider flight was delicious. There is plenty of seating, include extensive outdoor seating that looks out to the forests surrounding. Indoors is filled with spooky, eclectic industrial decor. The staff were friendly and thoughtful. It's a gem of a spot!

Have you ever had somewhere that you loved but considered not leaving a review to keep it a secret?…read more Margarita's Pizza is a small downtown ma and pa dollar-slice-style joint (slices are more than a dollar because it's 2025) that really hit the spot for us. 5/5 Food: the cheese pizza was excellent. I'm not a usually a cheese pizza kind of person, and loved every bite. The meatball parmigiana was good, the meatballs seemed like the real deal, with little bits of fennel in some bites. The cookie was great. 4/5 service: It is NOT a typical restaurant setup. You go to the front and wait for the man and woman to find a break in their cooking to come and help you. We went in person and got a table for 5 with crying hungry kids, and they were kind to us, and helped serve us promptly. As we sat there, person after person came in and seemed to know the owners after repeated purchases. The woman was kind and efficient. Note: no cards for purchases under $10. 4/5: ambiance. For dollar slice places, it is roomier. The setting was clean enough, nothing fancy- red tables with attached benches. I can't wait to go back to Margarita's. Also, looking through the negative reviews, here seem to be the issues people report: - hard piece in the meatball sub (I had this too, think I was fennel) - not taking cash for under $10 (true) - getting called out by the owner for peeing on the toilet seat (makes me want to give the owner 6 stars ) 5 stars: I will try to convince others to go back 4 stars: I will suggest going if we are nearby 3 stars: I will eat here if someone in my group wants to or if I am alone and need a convenient eat. 2 stars: I will take some convincing to go back. 1 stars: I will not come back.

Great sauce good. amount of cheese, solid crust. I also got an order of mozzarella sticks, which were good! Service here was great very kind and welcoming. Food came out fast and was only about $12. It's a cute old-school place which I really appreciate. Would definitely recommend and I will be back.
