I've been going to Gwenda now for several years now and I simply cannot recommend her enough. She has worked with me to recommend what type of massage is best to help the body aches I have on an on-going basis. She offers not only a wonderfully relaxing massage, but also can modify her massage to be more therapeutic in nature if you would like. Location wise, she is very conveniently located, the parking lot has plenty of spaces, and her offices are professional and relaxing. I am thankful for having found the perfect massage therapist!

Before the session even began, I completed a health questionnaire and we discussed my pain points and problem areas in detail. Once the massage started, it was clear she had a plan. She targeted muscles with surgical precision, incorporated heat therapy, and used techniques that blended deep tissue work with elements of Thai massage and yoga-style stretching. The office itself is right in the middle of busy King Street in Old Town. It's quiet, simple, and no-frills -- don't expect waterfalls and fancy spa décor. But honestly, none of that mattered once the massage began. The real luxury here is the skill level. Cindy works like a master craftsman of massage therapy.

She understands how the body works and customizes your massage to what your body needs. It is a legitimate deep tissue massage; not a spa experience: a functional massage to target what your body is telling you and telling Cindy. QQ1 Spa Is a precious gem of a neighborhood small business in the Franconia-Alexandria region of…read moreFairfax County, the kind of local treasure that civic leaders and residents love as much as loyal clients do. It takes mere minutes into a first visit to understand why, as one's stress and tensions are elbowed and squeezed and cupped out of various muscles in the shoulders, neck, back, arms and legs by the expert ream of licensed massage therapists, many holding licensure not just in Virginia but also in their home country of mainland China. QQ1 Spa is the vision of group leader Jenny, who manages the daily operations, oversees the three other female massage therapists (also from China, and also dual-licensed), and who steps in during peak times to help with client requests for everything from 4-handed massages to couples therapy to "cupping." The latter uses-- you guessed it-- several small-teacup-sized cups but translucent and without handles-- to draw blood to the surface of the skin to help drain it from knots creating muscle tension. Jenny and her staff -- including Emily, Eva and a fourth therapist -- are all wonderful treasures. When one enters QQ1, one immediately sees each team member's government-issued massage therapy licenses, each one up-to-date with state and local municipality renewal permits required to remain in good standing. A pain in the tush, to be sure. A great chance for people to grouse about the bureaucracy creating needless layers of guvmint spending to the burdens of American workers. Well, yes. But. There is value to the community good in having laws that, when followed by the citizens, show the patriotic zeal these most recent of Americans display to ensure their credentials are noted by current and prospective new clients when they enter the front door. Choosing "QQ1" as the spa's name was a nod to the Chinese cultural tradition of using certain numbers and letters in business titles to help enable good fortune and prosperity. QQ1 is on-brand to telegraph a message of trust to consumers. Perhaps akin to American small businesses that use such titles as A1, Best, and Top Service, among others. It's so endearing that any modern small business would invest such thought and care into these details. Yet QQ1 has. And it shows in their scheduling flexibility when a new client first calls to see if any appointments are open for a new client's unexpected back pain flair-up. Which is surely going to be exacerbated by the added pain in the neck of trying to find a quick available time to get a professional therapist treatment. Which makes it great to know that I when you call QQ1 they will say: just drive over. They handle this type of thing all the time. How often can anyone say they actually leave a retail establishment feeling so much better than they did when they came in?

Stepping through the security doors of this establishment, Stone Barrington would be impressed. I saw two women wearing Cheongsam Dresses. It is the second time today I have seen this style of dress. Maybe I need to get out more. Still, I like the look. The manager was kind enough to give me a business card before escorting me out the door when she realized I wasn't getting a massage today. A bit rude, but maybe they were getting ready to go home. I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this. 30 Minutes $60 60 minutes $80 120 Minutes $160 I did not get the chance to ask about Table Shower or Body Scrub. They PREFER you to make an appointment. Walkins give you a 30 percent chance of getting in. I would have give a higher rating on first impressions on this place, but being escorted out the door left a sour taste in my mouth. Like I said, they may have been getting ready to go home. I will try this place again.

I booked a combination hot stone and Thai massage, and as a first-timer with Thai massage, I had no idea how much I would love the stretching. It was incredible. Nadia was one of the most present, intuitive, and skilled massage therapists I've ever had. The thing that sit out most was how thorough she was.
