The…read morefemale behind the counter told us we needed to go back outside and walk around to the front entrance. I was with my 93 yr old patient. I was in shock. She barely made the walk as far as she did. And instead of her saying we could cut through the office , she wanted us to go back outside in the heat and walk or drive to the entrance since she was clearly the person you see when you check out. When I said "she's 93, can't we get to the front from here?" Another female heard me and said "I will show you". That was a few minutes before 2p and that's when the appt was for. The receptionist at check in was Seydi, she was very kind and patient. I was actually admiring how kind she was with everyone. Which I had plenty of time for because the wait was a bit long. Then we were with Lous , the technician who was magnificent! She was very patient and kind to Mrs Paley. After she was done with the testing , we had to wait again. This was time to wait to see the doctor. We finally made it to the exam room and waited again. When Dr Moulin finally came in the room, I had her daughter on speaker phone because she couldn't make the appt, she has her own health issues. She asked the doctor what took so long and explained that her mother is 93 and recently had several strokes And tires easily. At this point it was going on two hours of waiting. When she asked him that, his attitude became snide And he then "examined" her eyes and told her there was absolutely nothing he could do for her. He repeated that many times and told her she is better off using reading glasses / cheaters. She really thought there was something that could be done to help her vision for the remainder of her life. Our hope For that was squashed. Not asking him to work miracles but he was just so short and unapologetic. We came from Lauderdale by the Sea just to see him or his colleague for a possible solution. We felt like that drive and wait was for absolutely nothing except to be treated poorly from the moment we walked in. I do not know the name of rude check out person but she knows who she is. We would not recommend this facility or doctor. Especially if they needed to make a long drive to their office.

I wouldn't trust my eyes with anyone else!…read more Dr. Betancourt and the whole Pines Vision Care staff have been my eyes' saving grace since 2014. I've been getting eye migraines from too much screen time (anyone else?) so I decided to finally come back for an eye check-up. I haven't been back since 2018, so I was excited at the thought of getting some new frames. Healthcare is one of those categories of businesses where you usually find your provider through your insurance or through recommendations and I can say that I wholeheartedly recommend this office. Everyone is friendly and appointments are a breeze to schedule and go through. Dr. Betancourt is such a gem of a doctor & really takes her time to go through any concerns you may have plus answer questions with what is happening. She answered all my questions and helped me find a possible solution to my light sensitivity and eye migraines. They gave me two different sets of prescriptions (one for nighttime driving & one for computer/screen use, thanks astigmatism!) They also help if you have any problems with your current frames and have pads for glasses to purchases in case yours fall off. Thank you Pines Vision Care for amazing eye care everytime! Pro tip: Don't plan on doing anything for a few hours after an appointment if you're getting your eyes dilated! It might be common sense but I learned this the hard way haha

What an incredible waste of time I don't know why they confirmed that they took my insurance when they don't and then waited till the day before my appointment to let me know they don't take my insurance.. I have been going to Hollywood Eye Institute for several years now. My first review was positive…read morefor sure...staff is friendly and place seems clean. Lets update my review, the techs do everything, I mean everything....from doing the eye test that you look into where you pick one or is two better. This meeting with the tech is one of your encounters with techs doing everything. So, in the first room they start the sales pitch to get you to do some extra test that cost extra money. If you say yes, they immediately bring the credit card scanner into room so you can pay NOW. Like paying at the end is so hard, like you are some dead beat that won't pay. Now you leave first room with the tech to a back area waiting room to wait for next tech. You get into the next room and more talks about up selling things go on before or right around when the Dr comes in. The doc does a few small things to look at your eyes and they talk about things that maybe wrong with your eyes or not(I got a second opinion which leads me to make that statement) Doc leaves the room and the tech finishes the sales pitch with brochures and the cost of said procedures. If you don't book that day they will call you to see when you would like to book it. I have had 2 upsell procedures where I believed I needed what they were telling me, and....like I explained earlier, I needed to pay right there in the exam room with the CC reader before I could receive the upsell procedure. So this year, the upsell procedure was $1800 and $3600!!!!! Cash or card!!!! This prompted me to get a second opinion.... I did not tell the Dr I went to anything at all about my visit to the other eye doc visit. The second opinion doc said that I had a very mild case of what the Hollywood eye institute lead me to believe that it was way BAD and would get even worse if not treated with this expensive procedure. The 2nd opinion doc recommended about $30-40 of over the counter things to fix it...vs $1800-3600!! SOOOOOOOO...... I take out the brochures that were given to me and asked if these procedures were necessary, much to my surprise the Dr stated that one of the procedure wasn't even relevant to my eyes because it treated for something I didn't even have. The other procedure was kinda relevant ish if you wanted to spend $1800 instead of the $30-40 that I did end of doing. I mean, let's do the least invasive procedure first...no? GOOD LUCK....I HOPE MY REVIEW MADE SENSE.
