I know how hard it is to find a good teacher, I am glad that I found a teacher as patient, friendly, and knowledgeable as Diana. She tailors the sessions to my interests, is incredibly patient and supportive, hand-by-hand correcting mistakes. This correction is a valuable experience for adult learners, as it is crucial for developing proper techniques. I genuinely think she is the best piano teacher, or at least the best that I have found. I'm really enjoying my musical journey, I look forward to every session and can't wait for the next piano lesson!

I was fortunate to find her with openings to teach my two daughters when they were in elementary school, and was so proud to see my high school senior perform her last recital several weeks ago. We've had experience with other music and voice instructors and appreciate that Irina is top notch. Her style and belief in her students help them achieve excellence with their understanding of music and their performances. Recitals are always a treat since she inspires others' talent and encourages a friendly atmosphere among students and families. Irina is beloved by students and parents.

We had been looking for a piano teacher for a while when I found Rok's school of music. He is the…read more3rd piano teacher that our 8 year old daughter has had (this is just to basically show you how much we had to search till we found the right one). All what I can tell you is that our daughter was ready to give up because she was not motivated/did not enjoy piano or music. She started with Rok a year ago and she is LOVING piano, studies EVERY single day and I have seen progress that I had not seen in any of the other years since we started 5 years ago. This is to Rok's credit. He is patient, disciplined, very knowledgeable in pedagogic methods of music but also uses his psychological skills to motivate his students adapting to their needs. I could not recommend him more.

At the same time, she is a serious teacher in the Russian tradition. Ms. Sofia has a very thoughtful pedagogy: she doesn't just follow standard workbooks, she hand-selects pieces she thinks will challenge my daughter, many from old Russian books and composers I am not familiar with. Her selections mix the standard classics (e.g. (Suzuki sonatinas) with very interesting Russian composers. Her practice standards are rigorous but not overwhelming: she just expects 15-30 minutes a day of focused practice. My kid is now 6 and can practice in a structured way on her own, using the skills Ms. Sofia showed her during lessons. In addition, when my kid is with Ms. Sofia she is a different person: more attentive, more focused. Highly recommend, Ms. Sofia is a gem of a teacher.

Worst experience with this music school, both on the knowledge side and service side. The owner…read moreonly cares about the tuition and nothing else. We never saw his performance, even at recital. From our only five month experience, our kid can learn all the songs within couple weeks. After telling him that we decided to leave the school, we were told that we need to pay one more month tuition, and our kid didn't learn one new song. We then figured out he purposely cancelled our last lesson, which means we paid the whole last month tuition only with three weeks of class. I decided to write this review because I want to share our experience with everyone else. To be honest, I don't how he got voted as the best teacher in Howard County. There are many great piano teachers in our county.

It's very hard for me to read music (I believe kids pick it up easier- it's almost like another language- learned easier the younger you are) but she still persists. I was a little worried about the lessons being too tailored to young children but after the basics we moved on to very customized lesson plan that includes classics (Beethoven, Bach, Chopin) as well as Christmas carols and other popular songs (including "let it go" that my 4 year old demanded and loved!). I plan to bring my daughter here when she's a little older as well. Highly recommend Claudette!

Claudette Horwitz was the best piano teacher I ever had. I was lucky to find her. She gave me the…read moreskills necessary to understand, and execute basic theory reading and implementation at the piano. By the time I finished my studies with her I then became a piano major at Montgomery College. Her level of teaching is beyond compare. Claudette expects a lot from her students so if your child is not the type of person that likes to practice and reach goals then this is probably not the path for them to take. If you want to get your child prepared to read and play classical music then you will find no one better than Claudette Horwitz to take your student to that level. There are several things you need to know about this place:…read more 1) Parking is on the streets nearby and some meters allow one hour while some allow two. These are the old-fashioned meters so bring lots of quarters! 2) The website references teacherS (plural) but only provides a bio for one (and no pic). 3) It is MANDATORY for a parent (or guardian) to be with their child for the duration of the music lesson (1-1.5 hr depending on level). Note: unless you have been a kindergarden teacher, it may be disconcerting to hear 30 different kids banging cymbals, toy drum sticks and other "musical instruments" all at (or close to) the same time! 3) The teacher is a Brazilian woman who has traveled extensively, studied and taught music for much of her life. She is great with small kids (1-4 yr old) but in the 5-10 yr old group it's a different story: She has a VERY LOUD voice and sings the notes at the top of her lung capacity as she plays them on the piano (C C D D E E E E!!!!). The children follow along by playing the corresponding notes on their (individual) keyboards. Unfortunately, and w/o any warning, the teacher will keep singing her notes but then EXPECT the children to play something different (ie. melody or "accompinament" as she calls it).....BUT w/o giving any instruction to do so! 4) Class times are "approximate" since I've been told 3 different start times, none of which were accurate! 5) The cost is $15 for about 1/2 hr. of group piano instruction (beginner level) and is sold in a package of $225 for 9 lessons.

We participated in the 3- to 5-year-old intro to piano class as offered through the county rec…read moredepartment, and it was fine. A little over half the class was learning the parts of songs (notes, beat, etc.) and using different devices (balls, shakers, and even stick horses) to play while sticking to the rhythm or beat. The other 1/3 of the class was learning notes on the keyboard. Our teacher was patient and kind with the little kids, though lack of parent interest and ability to keep the kids on task made the whole class a bit chaotic. The school was founded by Mrs. Dourado, and she runs classes along with her adult children. Parking nearby is on-street or in a municipal garage about a block away. I can't comment on the merits of instruction for older children, but the program is a good introduction to music instruction for preschoolers.

Unfortunately the dream was snatched because this company did not complete the renderings until after the due date, which they were well aware of from the beginning. They actually emailed us the recordings at 11:59pm and they were due to Julliard at 11:59pm. How unprofessional and ridiculous is that? If I could give them 0 stars I would. We had a 2 year relationship with this company and it was very disappointing that they took no ownership for what they did. I could not believe that they blamed their slow internet. How ridiculous is that? If you knew your internet was slow DON'T VOLUNTEER to complete renderings. The CEO nor the director apologized and took no ownership at all. I could not believe it.
