Valet is apparently free, but I found street parking in front of OSPI. I initially found SAGE on Yelp, then visited their website to learn more before booking. I really appreciated how transparent they are. Each stylist has a profile with a bio and a picture. The services and individual pricings are listed upfront in the booking portal, which made it easy to choose someone who fit what I was looking for. Price transparency is important to me, and at the very end I was charged exactly what I booked. My stylist was Mikayla, and she was incredibly meticulous/detail-oriented. She spent about 4.5 hours perfecting my Full Highlights, and I never felt like she was rushing through any part of the process. During the consultation, I felt heard. She listened to what I wanted without any judgment or pressure to steer me toward a different outcome. Instead, the conversation felt collaborative, with explanations that helped me make informed decisions. I know for some, having to chat for all that time may be daunting. Mikayla struck the perfect balance between friendly conversation and giving me space. She clearly communicated each step of the process before doing it. My Full Highlights service included foiling, toning, a shadow root, a hair mask, and a full blowout. I'm so happy with how everything turned out!

Colby really took the time to listen to what I wanted and understood exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to keep my long hair while adding movement and shape, and he absolutely nailed it. My hair finally looks the way I had envisioned. Beyond his talent, he was incredibly kind and thoughtful throughout the appointment. Before I left, he even let me know that if there was anything I'd like adjusted after living with the haircut for a few days, he'd be happy to take care of it. That level of care and attention really stood out. I'm so glad I found both SAGE and Colby. Aside from a few highlights around my face and on the top of my head, it didn't look like I had recently had my roots highlights touched up at all. My hair looks grown out as if I had not even had it done. Watch the video and you be the judge. When I brought up my concerns, the owner, I sent her this same video (Emily) explained that this is what the salon considers a partial ROOT highlight touchup. I already had my hair previously bleached . I respect that explanation, but for $240 plus a $50 tip ($290 total), I expected a more noticeable result. She offered to correct it for an additional $50. I'm sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision and have a clear understanding of what this salon considers a partial highlight ROOT service.

This review took me months to write because reliving it is genuinely upsetting. I want to start by…read moresaying the stylist I saw, Caitlyn, is a sweet person but she destroyed my hair. I went to her in October for a refresh of my highlights. I was already nervous, since my previous stylist had moved away and always took great care of my fine hair, making sure it never got damaged. I told Caitlyn upfront that I was anxious about letting someone new bleach my hair, given a history of stylists frying it, and that I chose her specifically because she's a senior stylist. She reassured me she doesn't use heat dryers and starts with a low developer, so my hair would be fine. Once I was in the chair, I explained exactly what I wanted: a little brighter, a refresh of all my highlights, but keeping the dark root and dimension shown in my before photo. She agreed and got started. She never mentioned pricing, so I assumed it would be around $400 at most. During the appointment, she suggested going through my ends because they looked dark. I said maybe next time, since I wanted to preserve the integrity of my hair. Later, she mentioned she'd gone ahead and done a few extra pieces at the bottom anyway something I never asked for. By the time she finished washing my hair, it was already dark outside, so I told her not to worry about blow-drying it. I went home with wet hair. Even then, it looked extremely blonde, which worried me, but I assumed it was just because it was wet. At checkout, I was shocked: the total came to $650. I left a tip anyway because she was watching the screen as I paid and I felt put on the spot. (Receipts attached.) When I got home, my husband immediately said my hair looked way too blonde and pointed out broken pieces. He was right. Over the next few days, it kept breaking. My hair had taken years to get healthy, and in one appointment it became dry, brittle, and was falling out. The extra strands she did without asking only made the breakage worse. I ended up buying box dye to fix the color myself, since I hated how it looked. As of June 2026, I've had to cut at least 8 inches off, and I'm still working to repair the damage. This experience caused me real distress -- I loved my hair, and I deeply regret trying a new stylist. I'm sharing this so it doesn't happen to anyone else. Even though I only came in for a haircut, she took the time to give me honest advice about my hair. She recommended that I should focus on treating and restoring my hair first, and then come back next time for coloring so the results would look better and healthier. What really impressed me was her thoughtfulness -- she noticed that my roots had grown out unevenly in color, so she went ahead and blended the color to match the rest of my hair. And she didn't charge me anything extra for it, only for the haircut. You can truly tell that she cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. Everyone that works there is so kind, the employees are friendly and helpful. Pricing is competitive for the area and the VIP treatments are absolutely worth it every now and again, although I typically stick with the basic gel pedi. Chairs are comfortable, beverages are complimentary and offered on seating, and the herbs they use for teas and soaks smell incredible. Finding a good nail salon is always a stressful task. Happy to find a place I can count on.

Love this place! Came here to get a new look. I'm the type that gets a haircut twice a year max, since I have long flowy curls and it's hard to find someone who has the skill to style them. I booked my appointment with Sabrina, the owner of the Organic Salon. I was greeted with warmth and attention. Sabrina worked on my hair for almost four hours, perfecting the cut, finding the perfect shades of color I wanted for the ombre and balayage looks, and personally handled every detail of the styling. She was very caring, attentive, and a total perfectionist. She wanted to make sure I got exactly what I wanted, and three of her staff assisted in the shampooing and parts of the coloring. Stacy was awesome! she helped paint strands of my hair and took her time to create the perfect balayage/ombre look I wanted. She also gave me yummy oreos and ensured I was hydrated =] I can honestly say this is the first salon experience I didn't dread, and totally loved. I've been ranting non-stop to everyone, telling them to not go anywhere else. I should also mention it's a posh spot that feels homey and is very well priced, compared to the quotes I received in the area. I've gone to this salon many times and have always been pleased with how they do my hair. However, today I had the most amazing cut done by Stacey so I felt compelled to write a review. This was my first time with Stacey and after describing to her what I wanted for my hair, she instantly knew how she was going to achieve my desired results. She was extremely knowledgeable not only about hair but about organic hair products (she only uses organic products both in her styling and coloring treatments) so I got to learn a lot during my haircut. I loved her personality and confidence in styling my hair. When she turned by chair around to look at my finished and styled hair, I had never been happier with the end result. Always going to come back to Stacey. Additionally, the salon itself it awesome. They fit me into their schedule on the same day that I called. I didn't have to wait to get my hair done and there's complimentary hand massages (the hand masseuse named Liz is the sweetest woman ever). Also, the value is amazing. Love my cut and color by Michelle!!!! She is the absolute best ! My first visit with her I had virgin brunette hair and wanted to try ombre . I was a bit timid about coloring my hair for the first time so she recommended I do my ombre with color and toner (no bleach)... which was perfect for me because I was going for a natural ombre look . She did a beautiful job I was so happy with it !!! The second time she did my hair , she did a full ombre using bleach and toner... and I couldn't have been more pleased!!! My ombre is beautifully done and my cut is fabulous... I'm constantly getting complimented on my hair whether I wear it straight, curled , or wavy. It's the extra little detail and attention that she gives that make her stand out among other hair dressers . Like many others, I found Mirage on Yelp. I loved the results posted by customers which is truly what sold me. Sabrina was able to fit me in the following day because my schedule is so limited. She spent quite a bit of time discussing my hair, what I liked, didn't like, etc. She really listens and because she carries so many product lines of color, she is able to choose the best line and color for you. We chose a temporary color to begin with, to make sure I was happy with the results and I was - Sabrina is very talented. As for the cut, I showed her the styles I liked, and she did it! I was actually surprised that my hair could look like that in the back! I've now been to see her 3 times, and I'm really happy. She recommended coloring my eyebrows to match my hair color, which I had also been thinking about. The cost was minimal and was so glad I did it. Magdalena is also talented and so sweet! read more

The way I found Mirage was just pure accident. I had just moved into the neighborhood and was looking for a place to get my hair done. I was actually going to go to Super Cuts when I saw the sign "mirage". I walked in and asked if they could take walk ins for a cut and color. The customer service was beyond exceptional. The whole place made me feel comfortable and relaxed. That was 10 years ago!! I have been getting my hair done by Sabrina for quite some time and what I really like about Sabrina and her staff is they are very friendly and personable. I was just there last week and they have a new massage therapist that I will be trying soon. She gave me a complimentary hand and arm massage that was awesome. I have been going to Mirage for close to 20 years. I started with Joe, the original owner when I was in my 20's. Then, Joe sold the salon to his long time employee Sabrina. When I entered my 40's, i finally decided to color my gray wisps and I started seeing Sabrina. She does a fabulous job with color! It looks totally natural. She blends 3 colors for a rich, warm look. I have short hair, and i can tell that she truly loves to cut my hair, enjoying the creative process the whole time. It always looks so cute, and it grows out well, the true sign of a good short hair cut. I've been going to the Mirage Salon for around 20 years now. I've gone to other, cheaper salons now and then, but I have always come back. All the people who I've known here have been highly skilled, professional, friendly, and straightforward. They keep up to date with the latest trends in hair and makeup and will sometimes offer suggestions. But they will never try to "sell" you on something that isn't going to work for you. The atmosphere is warm and friendly; they make everyone feel like part of the family. As a customer, you can join in on a lively conversation if you wish or just read a magazine. Your choice. I think they provide an excellent value which is why I give them 5 stars. The prices are on the low side for a salon of this caliber in this area. read more

Sabrina has been doing my hair since I was a teenager, so for about 14 years.. : ) She truely is a Color Master. I have gone from brunette and back to blonde a countless amout of times and my hair always turns out beautiful and surprisingly healthy. I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Sabrina at Mirage for over 9 years. Every 5-6 weeks, I walk into this salon knowing that Sabrina will work her magic and I will leave looking great. I came in for a wash and style before work last Saturday and I can honestly say this is hands down the best salon in OC! I called last minute and they were able to get me in right away. WOW! I have never been so happy leaving a hair salon in my life. When I first came in I was welcomed by the manager Hayley, who was so delightful. The salon was immaculate, cozy, and the entire staff made me feel right at home. The environment was so peaceful and made me feel very relaxed. Tatum was my stylist. I wanted to get my hair done, but I short in time since I wanted to have my hair done before my son's football game began, I looked up a please that was close to OCC and I found this please MIRAGE, so I headed over and when I walked in I was greeted by Sabrina with a great smile and made me feel welcomed, she did my hair, she waxed my brows, and gave me facial. I have been coming to Mirage several times now and every time I come I get the best customer service. Everyone here is super friendly and they make you feel at home. You always get offered water, tea or coffee.They have all sorts of services offered here from facials, waxing and obviously hair services. Today was my first visit to Mirage and I had a wonderful experience. I loved the atmosphere, the fact that all of their products are organic, and even the use of essential oils. My stylist Sabrina, was very helpful in helping decide on the perfect solution for my hair and even assisted in choosing the right products to care for my look.
