We recently moved into an 8-year old home that was very boring, all builder grade decorations/colors, and my wife wanted to do a facelift on living area, kitchen, gameroom and two bedrooms. We interviewed several interior decorators, but The Design Firm won our business due to their incredible professionalism, creativity and the attention to detail was palpable. We had a series of meetings with designer, Jenn (cant remember last name), and even Kara (the owner) participated in some of our meetings. They even created an artist rendering of what we could expect with the finished project which was icing on the cake for a husband with no vision! The total project took about 3 months and they handled everything from choosing the final colors, ordering furniture, light fixtures, and paints, completed install in a timely fashion, but always alerted us of timeline of project, including one delay due to item being on back order. My wife really wanted project complete in time for a special party and The Design Firm worked diligently to make sure project was complete in time for party, communication was outstanding and helped relieve wife's stress. I HIGHLY recommend The Design Firm to make your visions become a reality, I am now a true believer in having an outside interior decorator handle your vision, and our finished project is stunning and gets compliments from all of our guests! We are now planning a second project with The Design Firm to overhaul our outdoor patio and master bedroom/bath, and I am excited to see what their creative minds have in store for us. Upon reading other reviews, I am appalled that some people did not have the most pleasant and professional experience with The Design Firm, I highly recommend that you meet with them to see all the things they can do...you pay for what you get, and I feel like our money was well spent and the result is phenomenal!

In my reply, I gave them my cell number and requested they text before calling, as I don't answer strange numbers, and that I would not be available on certain specific days of the week -- and what do you know, they called without texting (strike one) and asked to schedule for a day I said I was not available (strike two). We did agree on a day/time that worked for me and they were a no-show, without any notice that they weren't planning to come by (strike three). Later that day, they asked to come out and I would have been okay, but I work from home on the days I am at the house and I explained that I could not walk around the outside of the house with them (due to the timing and my schedule) but could spend a few minutes orienting them (we have no dogs in the yard or anything hazardous) and they could email me the estimate. Instead, they tried to reschedule (strike four?). At which point I figured I had one estimate in-hand, another company had looked at my house and I was expecting an estimate at any time, and I had yet another company that hadn't been out yet. I explained this politely and then got three, one-line comments through the Yelp portal to the effect that they regret missing the appointment. I regret it, also, but I expected to be treated more professionally by someone who wants my business.

I took a snap shot of the table and sent it to Furniture Refinishing Services. They said they could do it. gave me a reasonable quote, and had it ready for my home in less than a week. It is stunning. I was fully expecting marginal results since the table was in such poor shape. Boy, was I wrong--but later surprised with the results! Since then, I've brought them antiques with water stains, broken chairs, and yesterday gave them another large table. They are polite, have an excellent eye for detail. quick turnaround, and have strong opinions on what they believe looks good (in terms of finishes) and what doesn't. Plus, they'll pick up your pieces and return. I literally cannot believe some of the negative posts I've read about FRS. They seem like some sort of vendetta. At any rate, two big thumbs up for them!
