If there's anything I hate reading on Yelp, it's the long-winded, indignant stories about what bad service someone got. "I was going to this restaurant, and I was expecting GOOD service. But do you know what I got? BAD service! Can you believe it?!?"
I'll just share a few anecdotes instead. Also for the record, we did have a reservation...
* When we sat down, no one paid attention to us for like 10 minutes. Then the table next to us got seated, and got their menus right away. My wife was like, "Can we get a few of those?" After that, it was the classic "they got seated AFTER us but they got their food BEFORE us!"
* The table behind us actually clapped when their food finally arrived.
* I ordered steak frites, and my frites never came. I was trying to finish the steak and have them take the plate before I could ask for them so I could be indignant about it, but my wife stepped in and some frites eventually came.
* At least twice, we saw members of the staff get into arguments with each other right in front of the customers.
* The bill - let's just say, even though I know the process of getting the bill is a bit different than in the U.S. (where they tend to hurry you out of the place once you've stopped ordering things), I've never had to literally chase my waiter around the restaurant to pay him.
Having said all that...
The food wasn't bad, and the garden was nice. read more
