I waited ANOTHER 45 minutes AFTER I had given my drug specimen and had my vitals taken for the doctor to even walk into the room. There were only a handful of patients there. It was not crowded by any stretch of the imagination (about 3-4 people besides me).

They are not connected to the BSW system and apparently have not undergone training either. We went to this NextCare Urgent Care facility (Palm Valley and Sunrise in Round Rock) believing we were going to a BSW facility. Service was not up to BSW standards. The receptionist (blue hair streaks) was not friendly or helpful. Kept making me get up to answer questions. There was another person at reception who noticed I was having trouble breathing and walking. At least she walked over to me to sign forms and offered water. The blue hair streaks was better at staying seated and calling me to her. Why she couldn't get all the information on the first go is a mystery. The doctor was nice but not competent. When I failed to get better, I went to a REAL BSW urgent care, the doctor confirmed I was not given the correct prescription. Luckily, I had the forethought to bring the printout from NextCare that summarized the x-ray findings. Thankfully, I started getting better with the right prescription and dosage. I got a bill from NextCare. Just adds insult to injury, so to speak. I would avoid ANY NextCare facility even if Baylor, Scott & White is emblazoned everywhere. It won't be up to BSW standards, at least not for now.

No issues there. My visit with Dr. Jay was great; Mel, the intake RN was very pleasant and quick about taking my vitals and getting my background information. Dr. Jay was also pleasant, efficient, and thorough. It wasn't a long visit but I felt like she heard my concerns and reacted appropriately. The phlebotomist, Briona, was a gem. My lab work was quick and painless, and we had a great banter while she did my draw. He asked two rushed questions, barely listened to my answers, and shut me down when I tried to speak. He looked in my ears and then told me, with no empathy at all, 'There's nothing we can do. You can call ENT and Google exercises at home.' It felt dismissive, cold, and completely unprofessional. What hurt me the most is that my blood pressure was extremely high dangerously high and he treated it like it didn't matter. I know I have to be responsible for my health, but he is a doctor. Why choose a profession centered on caring for people if you are unwilling to actually care? I was not rude, not difficult, not disrespectful, yet I was treated like an inconvenience. I hope they don't have these medical assistants completing tasks that require common sense, like relaying important test results. I know practices are trying to increase profits, especially those practices that are owned by private equity (which this place may be--IDK). But please consider your patients. Don't run a competent practice into the ground by having these assistants do what medical professionals should be doing. Employ some actual nurses to answer patient questions for god's sake, not just "medical assistants."

They usually only call in one, making it so she has to call multiple more times while at work to get it resolved. She calls and visits plenty of time prior to script running out, but by time they get meds called in correctly she's out. This is a ongoing monthly issue and for no good reason.
