This was my first experience using MinuteClinic at CVS on Eldorado Pkwy in Mckinney. My daughter's…read moremain complaint was ear pain with body aches and fatigue. I made her an appointment online before coming in, but I came early to see if I could be seen earlier. The registration was straightforward and the nurse was very accommodating to try and get us seen earlier. Although we ended up getting called in at the time of her original appointment, Nurse Practitioner Grace Dada was kind, knowledgeable and never made us feel rushed. She thoroughly assessed my daughter and ran 2 tests to rule out Strep and the flu. Naturally, my daughter was a little scared of the swabs, but Grace was very professional and patient with her. The quality of care provided was excellent from start to finish. It was extremely helpful and convenient that we could also have our prescription sent to the CVS pharmacy on site. We were able to get everything done in one location. As an RN I appreciated the efficiency of the flow from assessment to treatment. I also appreciated that the delivery of the appropriate tests were available and initiated. The genuine rapport with Grace as we waited for the lab results, alleviated a lot of the worry I had coming into our appointment. If an opportunity EVER opened up at the MinuteClinic in Mckinney, I would love to work alongside this team and partner with the organization to deliver this same quality of care that I was given today.

Just by sorting the reviews by most recent shows I'm not the only one who feels the same way. Some recent issues like outsourcing all calls to a call center not on site resulting in 4-5 calls to schedule a run of the mill office visit all the way to the most recent visit of the doctor telling me he'll refill the same medication he himself had prescribed and refilled last month but then finding out the pharmacy didn't receive it. Sounds like a simple case of making a mistake but when I called in to ask about it the doctor said he never prescribes that medication and to go somewhere else? The absolute bare minimum there should have been some communication but that's being too lenient because this was the most neglectful way of handling a case. There should be no shame in just telling the patient you don't have the ability to treat them or whatever the reason. I've sent the managing partner an email to share my experience and hopefully find a reason for what's changed because my last few experiences have me finding another clinic.

They've had me fill out the same paperwork three times in different formats. Unfortunately I have to get this test to travel so I'm stuck. That's basic medical knowledge. This past time; I went in for an Xray of my heel. I'd fallen 10ft and landed on it. They had to give me a wheelchair because I was so immobile. Well Xray tech comes and takes me to the Xray room. She was very unprofessional. I was in severe pain and she kept, very assertively, telling me to place my foot in a very specific position. Well that wasn't easy and she was not patient. I physically couldn't do it without wincing pain, she didn't care at all. She was extremely unprofessional. Anyway, after that I'm wheeled back to my room and the Dr comes in with the Xray results. She says it's not broken and tells me to take Tylenol and RICE it... ...I was sweating it was so painful and she kept poking it. I told her that I had already done that and it wasn't doing anything. She shrugged and said she can't do anything. Fast forward 3 days and I saw a specialist who ordered an MRI, the specialist also helped me with the pain the same day of my appointment. MRI comes back and my heel is split down the middle. Long story short; I will not be returning to this place, and I will recommend elsewhere to others.

Despite this, nurse Pryra prescribed two medications, one of which contained penicillin. Thankfully, the pharmacist caught the error and prevented me from receiving the medication, potentially saving my life. I called back to ask for a doctor's review and was outright refused. Please take your health serious and avoid this clinic.
