The three men who came to facilitate the move worked very quickly and carefully and wasted no time. All in all a very good experience!

There were two trucks and crews. One was terrible and the other good. The terrible crew loaded the truck half way, damaged, scratched or stained the furniture they handled and broke a glass top table and 55" TV. They did half the work as the other. I was told I needed two trucks but one truck came with some other persons stuff on it. Between that and the poor job loading the second truck they had to go back to pickup the TV's and a few things. They didn't wrap the TV in blankets plus they dropped the glass table also not wrapped. The terrible group didn't want to go upstairs with some of the boxes so they put them in the garage when I wasn't watching. We gave them water and drinks and they left the empties on the floor. read more

I felt I had to write a review on our experience with using Minute Man Movers. We have moved many times in the past but the experience with Minute Man Movers and their team was by far the best experience we've ever had. Ashley, the owner of the company, was professional, was responsive and attentive. She was always available to answer all of my questions. In just speaking to her, I felt good about the the upcoming move. We had seven movers on the day of our move. They were professional, conscientious, and what really struck me was, happy. This is hard work and they were surely exhausted by mid day but their attitudes never changed. I told my husband that This is what moving should be like. It is normally a stressful day but Ashley's team made it an exciting day. We were so excited to get into our new home and Ashely and her team made it happen. I can't recommend them enough! read more

I hired these guys for my move in September 2019. I had read the yelp reviews and was worried at first, but spoke to Ashley and was happy to give them a chance. The movers arrived on time and were very quick at getting everything out of the house. They did not take excessive breaks. They were careful with my belongings and polite. They moved some huge pieces and didn't damage anything beyond a bump or two. The price is the best I was quoted and the service was perfect. I was not charged for time I didn't use. I used Minute Man movers for a move of a business in Rock Hill, South Carolina. They did not have a ramp to adequately load a larger moving trailer, so i had to find one from another moving company. When i found one, Minute man, manager, Hunter, says that he "forgot" to return the ramp to the other moving company and "accidentally" had the 16foot ramp on the back of their moving truck for 2 weeks until I called to verify that it was returned. F R A D U L E N T When I made the appointment a few days in advance for a Saturday morning and they were available, I should have know something was wrong. Further, I should have read the Yelp reviews beforehand. This company appears to have a reputation for unprofessionalism, tardiness, and requesting payment for time that was not spent actually moving. 1. They were over a hour late and did not bother to call ahead of time to inform us. 2. I requested 3 men to move a 1 bed apartment (granted on the 3rd floor) to a townhome 5 miles away. They arrived an hour or so late around 10:45am and did not finish until 3:30pm. 3. They took MULTIPLE smoke breaks. One of which while the mover was pushing my furniture into a truck with one hand and a cigarette in the other. 4. They took AN HOUR to get to my new place and claimed they got lost because their phone GPS could not be used. So we had to TEXT them turn by turn directions. Clearly, they took a lunch break during this time. 5. ON top of that tried to charge us over $600 for 6 hours for a move that when you subtract the multiple breaks and being late to both addresses really only took them 3 hours. 6. The police had to be called when we refused to pay the amount they requested. They left before the police arrived. Do not let this company take advantage of you and rip you off. 7. When I brought this issue up to the manager, her response was simply....check out our BBB rating....they were written up. Did not seem to be appalled as we were by the behavior of their workers which reflects the overall tone of the company. These movers were fantastic! Ashley came to our house to assess what would be needed. They brought their own truck (trust me, this is much better than doing a rental truck like we have in the past.) Three men came and they hustled. No breaks, often carrying things that they rightfully could have waited for another worker to help with. They were super careful and were running up and down the stairs to get the job done. They also were laughing and seemed to have fun with each other. We have moved so many times, and this was the most affordable and best experience we have had. The price was amazing and I can't say enough about hiring this company. Also, Ashley cares about her employees because I know from talking to her one day that she keeps them busy on down times so that they are washing the trucks or doing whatever needs done. These are hard-working guys who aren't looking for a hand out. I'm happy to have given them my business. read more

Worst moving experience of my life. The movers took about 7 hours for a job that should have taken 3. They broke the ONE item I asked them to be extra careful with. After telling me repeatedly that they would take care of it, i have heard exactly nothing from them on the claim despite numerous follow ups. Now they tell me "it is out of their hands" and i have to deal with the insurance company -- the one that has never returned a single call or email. Strongly recommend everyone look elsewhere! read more

AWESOME These guys are based in Irmo, SC but can move you anywhere in the state and BOY can they move. I've dealt with my fair share of movers and I can say this was the best move evah! I don't know if I got lucky with our movers, but if are moving, request these guys; Lennell, Lamont and Jordan. They were on time, as quick as could be and as quiet as could be. They didn't create a mess and they were very polite. The got the move done under the estimated time which was done by Hunter, another nice employee. I had no hassles, nothing was broken and the move was a great success thanks to Minute Man Movers. I would definitely recommend again but I don't plan on moving anytime soon. read more

No no no no no no no. I would give them 0 stars if possible. I called and they were friendly on the phone and said I would be able to move between 4 and 5. I get a call the next day saying that "by the latest" they'd be there at 3, maybe even 2:30. 3:30 rolls around and I call the mover who'd confirmed with me that morning but no one picks up. I call again and he sends me to voicemail. I call the HQ of the company at 4:00 and she says that they were dropping off a big load and would call me when they were 30 minutes away. I promptly told her to cancel my reservation. DO NOT USE. read more

I really hate I didn't read these reviews before I called this company. First of all, they arrived late and when I opened my door I thought it was some kids at the wrong place. Second, they were not very unprofessional. Thirdly, they scratched furniture, splintered dressers and other pieces of furniture and damaged the place were I live. At the end of the move they lied about their time, so I ended up paying for an extra hour. I guess this company is the only thing going in the area I'm in, but I tell you I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They truly deserved a zero rating. Most of the time they were standing around trying to figure out what item to bring off the truck. I must say the young girl with the group didn't mind working and was actually pretty good. But the entire day was a very unsuccessful costly effort. read more

***BEWARE*** I used these movers because they have the best rates in the Columbia, SC area. It was by far the WORST mistake I ever made! All I had to move was a couch set, bed, dresser, bookcase, and 4 boxes. When I moved a year earlier, another moving company was able to move everything in under 2 hours. These people took 6 hours total!! It was hot outside so I tried to be nice and offer them cold bottles of water, but they definitely took advantage of kindness. I found them talking on their cell phones for 15 minutes or longer at a time. I went outside at one point to check on the progress (or rather lack of it) and found the guys sitting on my couch "resting." They broke my bookcase and said they would replace it but of course that never happened. read more

Big mistake! !!! Movers not only showed up 5 hours late, but a man short of what I had booked. They took so long that we even helped them move. They damaged A LOT of my furniture and even my walls. The owner was not very apologetic about the situatuon .... waste if money!!! read more

Estimate was $700 and by the end they wanted $1,600. This was after they abandoned the job with a single item remaining because they were tired and didn't have the equipment. THEN had the nerve to charge additional trip charges to return and finish three weeks later. To top it off, they damaged the hall and doorway so badly I had to pay to have it repaired. read more

Can you say slow? Do not recommend. 3 guys started at 9am to empty 2 storage units, one large and one small, one small apt with a sofa, table and chairs and about 20 med boxes. 9 hours later and they are only halfway done. Moving here from RI, those movers emptied an entire 9 room house and large storage unit in 5 hours. When we booked the movers we were very explicit in what was involved, they said a truck with 3 guys could handle it. They didn't tell us it would be at a crawls pace. And yes, it is an hourly rate. And to speed things up, we instructed them to only bring boxes to one room, leave the rest in the garage, and only bring furniture into house. . Do not recommend. Ever. Update: I spoke with the manager, several times now. After the first conversation, she seemed surprised at our problems and says she would talk to her partner about reimbursing some money for the issues. Several conversations later, she had agreed to reimburse one hour's charge as the movers took meal breaks and we were (erroneously) charged. Weeks later, we never received the check. I called again. She stated she would get the check to us, and she noticed my yelp review. She offered us an additional $50 if we would give a better review. Well it is now 3 months later. WORST moving experience ever. Broke multiple things and their estimate was not even close to the final bill. Months later I find furniture that was not put back together properly and had bolts from other pieces of furniture. I have used multiple overs local and cross country and I would move myself before using them. read more

We thought these guys had done a great job packing the truck but when we unloaded it almost every piece if furniture was scratched. Not just a small scratch but deep scratches that cannot easily be fixed or fixed at all! Do not use!!! Find someone else to help unless you don't care about your belongings. read more

The movers were great and we had no problem with them. However, the office was horrible. I asked for the movers to arrive at 9:30 am and we were going to be out there (gated community) to let them in. The movers were told to be there at 8:00 and were only given my home phone number which I had told the office I would not be at and to use my cell number. The movers were leaving messages on my home phone that they could not get in the gate. They were finally able to follow someone in but we were charged for the hour of wasted time. This all happened this past Saturday and I called the office to report it Monday morning. I was told they would call me back Tuesday morning and as suspected have not heard back yet. read more

This is the worst moving company I have EVER Seen! I had very little things! The guys starts off the move like do you have anyone that can get the little stuff ? first of all they were late and no one called me, I had to call them to make sure they were coming. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE! They took breaks and even took a lunch break and didn't even tell me so I waited over an hour and I call them and theyre like yes we went to lunch. Charged me for their lunch break! Then I wake up and look at everything because this was the longest move in history and I have damage. I email and no response! I should have read the reviews before I went through these guys. They took my bed apart then didn't even want to put It back together and gave me a million reason why. They sat everything in the hall way and were like we are done. ITs so much more JUST PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! giving them one star is just cause I got the stuff to the next location! they took 30 minutes trying to figure out were to park and still charged me for that time! that's not my problem asses the job before you come. BEWARE!!! This nightmare move began with the movers calling me claiming they were lost for 30 minutes because their GPS couldn't find my house, Mapquest reflected their office was about 2 minutes from my house. These two guys were the most unprofessional movers I have ever dealt with in my life. They were not only discourteous and at times abusive, but they also damaged my sofa and tried to play it off on some previous worn areas underneath the cushions, but this was nothing compared to what they did to it after after they moved it. On top of that, they copped an attitude when I insisted they take extra precautions to protect my high end furniture and to please be careful with it so it was apparent that they retaliated by turning an expected 3-hour move with the minimum amount of furniture I had to move into a 7-hour move for them. They were complaining about the lady in their office not paying them for items she told them to move, commenting "they better get their hour pay to move that item". More upsetting than that was the fact that they both took several "smoke breaks" while sitting on my furniture in their truck. When I asked what they were doing smoking on my furniture, that they were risking burning a hole in my furniture, they barked back at me from the truck that if they burned a hole in my furniture, they would pay for it and continued to sit on my furniture and smoke running my hours up higher. Additionally, when I walked into my garage, one of the guys was riding on my son's brand new bike while the tires had no air in them so this damaged the sides of the tires (just took it took the bike repair shop). Finally, after dragging their hours out, they stopped to eat lunch along the way before reaching the final destination to drop off my furniture causing me and two others who I was also paying to help with this move to wait for them for at least 30 minutes while I had to constantly call their office to notify them that they still had not arrived. The lady in this office was nice, but she tended to make excuses for them, stating it was hot and that was probably the reason they were acting the way they were. Don't make the same mistake I did and use these movers or you will be sorry. When I called the lady who recommended them, she was appalled that they had caused all this grief and she told me I should have notified the owner, but I told her I got the impression from the lady in their office that this was normal for them and I didn't expect her to do anything since it seemed to me these two movers were running the show anyway. The lady who recommended them apologized to me stating she would definitely NOT recommend them to any one else and I will definitely spread the word to anyone considering a mover. This $300 move turned into more than $600 as a result of their dragging the hours out and damaging my furniture and other items. NEVER AGAIN!! read more
