I received good haircuts from Josh, but on my third visit, he was not wearing a mask when I walked in. The woman's who's hair he was cutting wasn't wearing a mask. Another customer in the shop was not wearing a mask. There were four people in there. The only person wearing a mask was the other woman cutting hair. I said, loudly, that I was not comfortable in that environment and I was leaving. They all quickly offered to put on masks, but that misses the point. Josh, by not wearing a mask while standing over customers for hours at a time could already be infectious. This virus is not a laughing matter. People are dying. My wife has an autoimmune condition. I am not going to risk her life or others because people are too careless to wear a mask. I will not be going back. read more

Mint salon is great. I have been to all the salons in San Luis Obispo county over the last 15 years for hair color and cut. By far, Allyson does the best job. She is an expert at color, and believe me, no other salon compares. You will be happy to know she also has a wonderful staff, all very knowledgeable, and talented at hair and make up! I highly recommend Mint. You will love what they do! They do book up really fast because they are so good. I hired Sarah at Mint Salon last minute, in the midst of a wedding crisis when I suddenly was without a hair artist. Sarah ended up being so kind, professional, understanding, and travelled to our wedding site to do hair for me and a few others. She made the most beautiful bridal updo for my hair, that stayed secure all day and night, through wind, fog and dancing. I am so grateful for her kind spirit, and help!! Ricky did my facial yesterday, I received the "lunchtime" facial. This included cleansing, extraction, peel and mask. My skin felt fresh and hydrated after. I have been coming here since January. I had just moved to the area from SF Bay Area and had no clue who to see. I have short hair that has natural curl to it and my last stylist in Mountain View I LOVED..she did a fun funky cut on me for over a year and I miss her..but had to find someone close. My co-worker recommended this place. She sees another stylist but he was not available when I wanted a cut, so they had me hooked up with Savannah! I love her. Josh is an amazing stylist and a total sweetheart! Even after I moved out of the area, I make sure to make an appointment with him when I'm in town visiting family. The man is a wizard with scissors and has a great eye for the style that will work best for your hair type/face shape/lifestyle. I don't let anyone else touch my bangs! The salon is a super sweet location and all of the other employees are friendly and warm. Make sure you leave plenty of time in advance to schedule your appointment. Just like many of the other reviewers, I was first introduced to all of these lovely stylists through Tigerlily in SLO. Since Allison is so amazing with hair and books up months in advance, I've had the chance to receive great cuts from Josh and Savannah. I'm really glad they continued to use Bumble and Bumble and Epicuren products at their new salon. Although Mint isn't located in downtown, I'm actually a fan of their new location. No more struggling for parking and no more running out of the salon mid-appointment to add more quarters to the parking machine! Their new salon is decorated with that semi-rustic, but artsy hipster decor and still has a lot of potential when it comes to decor. I'm excited to see what they do in the coming months and years! Prices for a cut are still reasonable and all of the stylists that I've gone to have done a stellar job. Even though I live in San Francisco, these stylists have been my go-to hairstylists for over 13 years! read more

I have been going to Allison for over 10 years and am so happy she opened her own salon. I still drive 5 hours to get my hair done by Allison because she knows my hair better than anyone. She is great with my thick hair and never makes you feel rushed if it takes longer to cut and dry. She is professional, personable and great at what she does.
