Found this practice, after searching the provider directory of my insurance company. I was able to…read morego online and schedule an emergency appointment, that got me in to see them yesterday (02/21/22). Their usual procedure is to call day before to confirm, but as I booked on Friday (close to closing time), wasn't sure if they would do that - or if they would even be open as yesterday was a Federal holiday. After doing some searching on their website, was able to confirm that they would in fact be open, so planned on calling them first thing in the morning to confirm my 10:30am appointment. Was able to connect with someone as soon as they opened, and was given the necessary details to create my patient portal account. I was able to complete my 'New Patient' paperwork before my arrival. I still arrived 15 minutes early, as a 'just in case', but was not seen almost 11:30am, (and only after a few folks who came in after me, and had appointments after me were seen first and my inquiry into when I would be seen.) Even with that snafu, everyone I interacted with, from the front desk personnel, to the hygienist to the doctor herself, were above reproach and very professional. Although the news I received wasn't all that positive, (but was what I figured it would be), they were very open, direct, and honest with me about what they suggested the next steps should be. Thankful for the time they took with me, the patience and grace that they extended and can see why they have the rating that they do. Hopefully my future interactions with them will continue to be positive ones.

Warning: Unexpected $1,017 bill after being told visit was covered…read more I visited Conyers Smiles Dentistry as a new patient for what I was told was a routine exam. When I arrived, staff confirmed my Cigna insurance had been verified and my visit was covered. I paid a copay and thought nothing of it. Weeks later I received an Explanation of Benefits showing I owe $1,017 out of pocket for a Cone Beam CT Scan, multiple Oral/Facial Imaging procedures, and Saliva Testing. None of these were explained to me before, during, or after my appointment. No treatment plan was shown to me. No cost estimate was provided. I was never told any of this was being done. My insurance denied all of it. Cigna flagged the saliva test as "not a dental service" and the CT scan as simply not covered neither of which are standard for a new patient checkup. I am now formally disputing these charges with the practice, Smile Generation corporate, and the Georgia Board of Dentistry. I would caution anyone especially new patients to ask for a written cost estimate and treatment plan BEFORE allowing any procedures to be performed here.
