I wasn't impressed. I don't think they should be able to call themselves wholesale for a couple of…read morereasons. We went to this location in order to purchase small sample size cups for an event. Their cup supplies were not very well organized and it took some time to find it. We went through the grocery section and noticed that the prices are basically grocery store prices. There is no wholesale. If someone was looking for much larger sizes of things for a restaurant, they could certainly find it there. However, I found it expensive they have fresh produce which could be purchased more cheaply at Costco at the cash register. We were asked if we would use our PC optimum card and that's when we realized this is a grocery store with some restaurant supplies, one of the big things that should have triggered that thought was that there's no membership required. In terms of the staff, I found people very friendly, and the location is quite good. If I were just reading the staff, they would get a five star.

This location has essentially costco size items at superior to Costco price and does not require membership. It's one of my favourite places to go to. The staff are very nice, no line ups and price scanner error lives here. My favourite item to buy is the Chapman bucket ice cream. Buffet quality ice cream serve to enjoy at home. Cheers!

I was so excited to hear about the new Farm Boy and went as soon as I could. The first thing I…read morenoticed was the not-real swinging monkey in the store! As well as the glorious-looking produce but seriously? You gotta watch him swing to the song Come On Eileen. Video and full review are available on my site: http://www.suziethefoodie.com/farm-boy-waterloo-ontario/ The produce beamed with rainbow beauty at me! Look at these jewels! First a swinging monkey and then these outstandingly beautiful vegetables.I had heard they tend to highlight local produce but at this location, I noticed the focus was more on organic which I honestly do not care about. I hope they change to the other model soon because I really do care about supporting local farmers. Because I dragged my sorry insomniac ass out of bed early in the morning I did get a ton of discounted apples and oranges en mass for around $6! Some of them were going bad but I just composted them and kept the rest. A totally amazing deal. Oh I wish I knew about their spices earlier! After moving and moving and trying to set up my pantry I have spent a fortune on spices. Here you can buy small quantities of herbs and spices for less cost. Yes! We were going to stop by a butcher shop for meat so I did not buy a lot but I did get a small piece of salmon (currently jammed in my tiny mini fridge's freezer) for under $4 and a piece of Kielbasa. I like that I could purchase the amount I wanted at the deli counter which saved me a couple of bucks. I paid just over $5 for about the same size that would cost me $7-8 dollars at my local grocer. This way I got exactly the amount I wanted and needed for my recipe (see photo at end of post). My friend Michelle got a giant piece of cod that was around a pound for under $15 which she used in a seafood stew which worked beautifully. My friend Kelly told me about their sour dough bread in the baking section and I got a loaf for 30% off! Seriously, work the sales. It was already a pretty decent price for an organic loaf of sour dough bread for $3.99 so this was a score. Farm Boy is packed with food and you can really find some fantastic deals if you go looking early but... you can not get other supplies at the same time. For pandemic shopping, this is NOT a one-stop store. This is for food ONLY. ~ Suzie The Foodie http://www.suziethefoodie.com/farm-boy-waterloo-ontario/

I always like to go to Out of the Past when I'm looking for something funky…read more I've been to their locations in both Hamilton and Kitchener and I must say that the one in Kitchener is MUCH more awesome! The girl that was working the counter was friendly and helpful, even when they didn't have what I was looking for. But whether you're on the hunt for a funky vintage dress, fun alternative spiked jewellery, or something to add to your goth/steampunk wardrobe, Out of the Past most likely has something for you. I've found everything there from vintage back braces to Ugly Christmas Sweaters, to huge spiked collars, to military wear, to Lipservice and TRIPP clothing. It's kind of hit-or-miss if they'll have what you want, being as a lot of it is vintage. Of course they can't guarantee what will be there. . .but it's always an adventure going in and hunting around for that treasure that you feel is probably hiding just beyond your sight somewhere. . .

I was originally looking for a Velvet Underground tee (the Andy Warhol one) but like Catacombs down the street they didn't have it. They did however have the Joy Division shirt that I've been looking for. The shirt was priced at $20 and the woman said that if I just pay with cash she won't charge any tax so another win. I also think the staff is really friendly but the place does look a little shady and the changing "rooms" are just little spaces with a curtain and a mirror on a chair lol
