I shop here regularly and truly enjoy the experience. The Village Store is part of our quaint Main Street area not to be overlooked. You can shop for housewares, local foods, boutique clothing and jewelry, toys, Lake Life and Lake Norman local gifty items, like tshirts, pillows, tea towels, etc. There is so much to look at here, and trust me, you will find something you love! The staff there is very friendly and the store is so well stocked. The prices are very fair compared to other boutique style stores, but I'd say the Village Store has the biggest selection of home and gift items in the Lake area. They have begun putting out their fall decor, and they really have some beautiful displays during the Christmas season. I really enjoy shopping here.

Because it was without a receipt they would not take it back. I even have the tags on and everything it was even in the same bag that I purchased it from. They did not have my information in the system and so now I am stuck with a dress that I do not like. The associate even contacted the owner who said it's against policy. That is fine but I'm not going to shop here again if there's no chance to return items once you get home. Also, there needs to be a paperless option in the computer for this sort of receipt less incident. It's a shame that for $42 the owner lost a customer. I called them one afternoon and spoke with Tim who told me to bring the bikes in. I arrived 30 minutes later and Tim greeted me with a hearty welcome and introduced me to Jacob the bike mechanic who checked the bikes in for a level one tuneup. Three were different types of tuneups that your bike can get; a level one starts at $80 and that includes checking the gears, tightening the chains, adjusting the brakes, checking the inter-tubes and tires and filling them with air if needed, and washing the bike. Level two and three encompasses a level one plus more. The bikes were supposed to take a few days, but Jacob got them done the next day. This is a great local bike shop, not only are they quick with the repairs but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The shop is clean, and fully stocked with a large selection of bikes, helmets and accessories. Oh yes and they do offer a 10% discount to Police, FD, paramedics, and Military. Cabarrus Cycling highly recommended!

So I've been trying to make this t-shirt quilt out of my old high school and college shirts for…read moresome time now. My friend had initially helped me start it by cutting up my shirts and making squares... then life got in the way and my project got delegated to the bottom of my closet. After a couple of tries with other places in the area, I got on the radar of Deborah Young. She does marketing and sales for Quilt Patch Fabrics. She had helped my mom make a couple of t-shirt quilts out of my dad's old shirts after he passed away so I wanted to see if she could help me out. Only doing a couple of quilts at a time, she had a long wait list, but after a couple of months, she got back to me. I met with her at the Quilt Patch Fabrics and she was super professional and helpful. I always forget how many options you have when quilting so it can be a bit overwhelming, but I explained my original plan and vision and she helped me make some decisions. I had arrived a little early for our meeting, so I got to look around the shop... you can buy fabric, accessories, books, measuring implements, and also take classes here. Everyone was super friendly and I even got to watch this gentlemen use the quilting machine (its super big) and it's the finishing swirls and patterns you see on the finished product. I think the machine is manually operated so I was really impressed by this guys steady hands. After about an hour of meeting with Deborah.... (She's really thorough and I felt like I was in good hands... while we hammered out all the details). I was all set. Deborah also brought examples of her work. Pretty exciting to see how this quilt comes out. At least the squares and memories aren't sitting in a garbage bag in the back of my closet anymore.

I know we are in the middle of a pandemic here and I know everyone is tired of the restrictions, trust and believe I am! HOWEVER, when I asked if I could try some things on she said, "no the dressing rooms are closed." Ok, fine I get it. What I don't get is that she only glanced at me before she put her head down to continue working at the desk. I asked about the return policy. She answered w/ the enthusiasm of a wet sock! Still no conversation or encouragement. So, I went to each rack and returned each item. I got not so much as an I'm sorry, please come back, can I help you with anything else, or have a nice day. Nada! I was in retail over half my adult life and retail IS customer service. I just don't see it anymore. It's so very sad! Store selection continues to get smaller while Amazon gets bigger.
