I found a Groupon for around $75 total for one adult and one child, which made the experience feel much more reasonably priced. Regularly it's about $60 per person. This place is truly a sensory explosion in the best way. She enjoyed every floor and pretty much every activity. From the swings in the first room to the sand play toward the end, there was always something new for her to explore. One of her favorite parts was coloring her own creation and then having it uploaded onto the big screen. Later, we were walking through another area and she spotted her creation running around on a completely different screen, which she thought was the coolest thing ever. There are so many interactive, visual, and hands-on experiences that kept her interested the entire time. We spent a little under two hours there, which felt like plenty of time for us to enjoy everything without feeling rushed. Definitely a fun experience for kids, especially if they enjoy art, lights, movement, and interactive activities. Seeing how much fun she had made it worth the trip back!

There are also Groupon deals Current Exhibit: Maestros and the Machines Deals: They have a "Happy Hour Package" available Monday through Wednesday from 5-6:45 PM, which gets you a normally very overpriced seltzer Other notes: It is hard to see in some places as it gets quite dark occasionally. The advertised "Ball Pond" is more of a hazard than fun I was at this unique, relatively new interactive art museum with another person around a week ago, having walked in while walking around as we were both curious. They list themselves accurately as a mix of "interactive spaces that blend light, sound, and space." Tickets were easy enough to purchase while there, and we were inside soon, with them giving us a general overview of what we would see without spoiling much. Of the 15 installations, my favorites were mostly near the beginning, which included The Map, Infinite, and Volumetric. Compared to some of the later ones, these were massive and felt more immersive. I liked the sound design, as well as the various graphics, with The Map in particular feeling all-encompassing from all the various scenes being displayed. I wasn't as big a fan of the more interactive ones, as it didn't feel like they worked particularly well. The 4DSound was unique as the audio did move around, but the booming bass drowned out most other background noise. The Cave had a nice display of fake hydrangeas around, but the monkeys reminded me too much of AI nonsense. This room also included the pricey but excellent Taste Labs, which had some nice flavored seltzers that were very overpriced but tasty. I think it was $8 or so for the lychee one. Then came the downstairs, which was my least favorite. The first more interactive exhibit allowed people to move their hands around to alter the screen, but it didn't seem to work particularly well. There was an interesting robot that excavated and danced/drew with sand where you could also make things, and there was an area for people to draw stuff as well. Last and certainly least was the Ball Pond, a giant but poorly designed ball pit. The area is dark, and it is very easy to fall inside, with the areas entering the ball pit being oddly hard. Case in point: I fell when I got out of the pit onto that hard surface, landing on my leg, which left a mark, and my left rib, which is still bothering me. Fun. Outside of the fall, I had a pretty nice time. I honestly didn't mind the price, as you can spend a good amount of time inside and they clearly put a lot of effort into this. This is not my favorite museum I've been to, but I would recommend checking it out.

The new large screen for the FIFA games has really added something special. Seeing people gathered together watching Switzerland play Colombia, cheering for their teams and enjoying the excitement of the game, made the whole place feel alive. I also noticed the new games and activities for both children and adults, which is such a nice touch. It makes the Winter Garden feel even more welcoming and gives families, friends, and visitors another reason to spend time there. What I love most about this place is how it changes with every event and season. The beautiful palm trees create such a unique atmosphere, and I've enjoyed coming here for The Nutcracker during the holidays, the Lunar New Year celebrations, and many times simply to relax and spend time with family and friends. Every visit feels different. The surrounding area makes it even better. Having places like Le District nearby, along with cafés and shops offering crêpes, ice cream, coffee, and pastries, makes it easy to stay and enjoy the experience. The mix of restaurants, cafés, and stores, including luxury shops like Louis Vuitton, adds to the feeling that there is always something new to discover. A big thank you to the staff and everyone who works behind the scenes to make these experiences happen. Their effort is what helps create such a welcoming place where people can come together. The Winter Garden in my opinion is more than just a beautiful space. It's a place where people make memories, whether they are visiting from around the world or simply stopping by after work.

Besides that, we played the mini NES and Sega consoles, "Medium" Jenga and Connect 4 (they're not quite giant) and shuffleboard. All were free. We had reservations for yesterday's Friday night and there weren't any tables available when I got there, but I gently reminded the host of my reservation and he immediately accommodated my party. :) I wouldn't really call this place a "restaurant". Sure, Route 66 Smokehouse is supposed to be on the bottom floor, but it's really more of a bar (with a few games down there as well). The upstairs is quite spacious, and also has a bar up there as well, though it was a really busy night and the bartender had to keep leaving to help downstairs. He seemed a bit overworked, but still managed to do his best and be very attentive to our questions and requests. While the Sucker Punch drink is expensive at $16, I recommend it because it's pretty big for an adult capri sun. Also, while it says "homemade fruit punch", don't expect it to be too fruity. I got the Cracklin Pork Clouds and I question how "homemade" they really are. But get the BASKET OF BISCUITS. Is it actually NOT a basket with just 2 giant biscuits? Yes. However, THOSE were most definitely homemade, fluffy, slightly outer crisp with soft cloudy inside and the accompanying BUTTAH, MMMMM. What's interesting is that our reservation was for 7. By about 8:30 the upstairs place started clearing out; it was literally just my friends and maybe 2-3 other groups. On a Friday night! Then, when it was time to go by around 9:30ish pm, when we went downstairs to leave, the DOWNSTAIRS area was PACKED. Wall to wall bodies. It was almost bizarre how empty the upstairs was, but how packed the downstairs was. But lucky for us because we got to play so much, unhindered. I would come back and try the cool chicken sandwich. Only reason I didn't get it this time around is because I wasn't that hungry.

Color-Free Factory Aug 2026…read more My advice: money is green, which is a color. Keep your green money in your pocket and don't spend it at Color Factory. A color museum should have COLOR. This place was unbelievably shabby and unloved, the confetti room had no confetti, the color rooms were just painted empty dark closets the size of a mop and bucket. The whole thing could be done better in your own garage with three quarts of Sherwin-Williams paint and a roll of paper towels for confetti. The ball pit was only ankle deep in balls. I'm so embarrassed for Color Factory, I could make this place better in one long weekend with $100 and the help of three kids from a teenage art class. Collect colored objects from Goodwill, buy paint samples from Lowe's! Let kids paint! Buy colored plastic magnets and some light tables! In such a creative city packed with broke art students, this place should be amazing. It could be a home for inventive uses of color and design, instead of a broken, shabby, color-free house of sad. Skip Color Factory and just go for a walk in amazing New York. There's more color and creativity in one city block, and it's free.

They have many wonderful artifacts to show you what Native American life was like. Many clothing items over 100 years old. A few poignant stories, like the story of Ishi, a Yaha Indian, possibly the last of his tribe, who chose to live in a human zoo rather than return to civilization or the wilderness. Beautiful artwork. I give it four stars because first of all, should we have these artifacts? I appreciate them, but were these acquired appropriately and are the respective tribes ok with them being in the Smithsonian? I would appreciate transparency on this. Also, while it touches on it at some parts of colonialism, overall it glosses over the crimes committed against Native Americans. And tells nothing (that I could find) about boarding schools, reservations, and how they still fight oppression today. There are also some artifacts and exhibits on Central American/South American Indians like the Mayans. Some beautiful carved wooden figures. Since this branch is in New York, there is a section on native Americans in New York. There is also an exhibit on Native American Art, which I enjoyed. It had a lot of contemporary and pop art pieces that really changed my perception of Native Americans. I always picture them as so solemn and proud. Some of these pieces were colorful and silly, and I loved that. Architecture is gorgeous. Admission is free, so through its really only one floor, it's worth a stop if you're in the area.
