Mini Pancakes with toppings
Samantha S.

I used the mini pancake cart for my daughter's first birthday in November 2021. It was a HIT! Such a unique dessert option and experience for our 75 guests. Set up was cute, clean and the topping options were perfect. Served warmed and prepared in front of guests as they order. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to add a unique vendor at a private event.

Looking at the menu, I decided to get the loco moco with portugese sausage. I am not a fan of loco moco, but heard it was really good here so ordered it but wanted Portuguese sausage since that's one of my favorite Hawaiian items It was finally our turn to order and my wife got the soft shell crab benedict. I ordered the loco moco with portugese sausage, only to find out that they did not have any portugese sausage! Menu was vast enough I didn't want to keep the line so decided to get the traditional loco moco with a hamburger patty. After our order, we sat down and waited for your food to arrive. As I was doing this, I noticed that a lot of people orderer the loco moco, but with katsu. I think I am gonna try that next time, or possibly with Spam. Anyway, our food came! Loco Moco - I can't say much about this since I am usually not a fan of loco moco so I am gonna just say it's good. A lot of people ordered it so it must be. Soft Shell Crab Benedict - My wife really did enjoy this. This looked too creamy and rich for my taste so I didn't try it. But she said that was the take away of the visit and will order that again the next time we come. My meal wasn't ideal but my wife's was. She really liked the benedict. We will be coming back, hoping that they will have portugese sausage on our next visit.

The servers were really nice and accommodating and the food came out really fast. My wife and I shared the Fried Chicken Benedict and the Ube French toast. The Fried Chicken Benedict was perfect! We got it mild because my wife can't handle spicy. The fried chicken was crispy and so juicy unlike other places where it comes out soggy from the coleslaw and sauce. Ube French toast was pretty good. For me it was a little heavy. Flavor wise it reminded me of deep fried carnival desserts with a ube filling. Probably better to order this if you plan on sharing with a few people. My only complaint is the ube latte. It tastes more like cocoa the ube, but overall everything was a great first time experience. Definitely will stop by again if I'm in the area.

Such an amazing find!!…read more My daughter has been to Mari Vees before and was craving their chicken ceasar salad wrap. She asked if we can go so we went around 1pm on a Saturday before her eye appt. Cute family owned shop and the wait wasn't long at all. We waited no more than 10 mins. I ordered the impossible smash burger and the hubby got the country fried steak with a banana walnut pancake. I wish I asked for extra vanilla in my vanilla latte but the art... perfection. Would come back again. Especially to try the chicken and waffles :)

Food was good and price also good. Second time I went there, different experience. Sat outside with my wife, daughter and niece. Lady server, not a nice tone, felt like I was being judged, compared to how she was taking to other tables. Maybe it was the tattoos or the logo homeboy on the shirt. Asked for sugar, she said its on the table, it wasn't, she eventually got it. I asked for spoon (no spoon for the cappuccino), she said "anything else" with a tone, I said some extra brown sugar, she said "anything else" with an even worse tone. I said no that's it thank you ma'am. Weird interaction when my wife asked to replace the bacon with veggies, they were charging more for it, kinda weird in my opinion, bacon is more expensive than a half cup of chopped asparagus... I was speaking Italian with my wife, and the server started throwing some Spanish words in the mix when asking if I needed more agua like it was the same language I was speaking... Food was good. But the experience not so great this time Will be probably back but will ask for a different server

Their musubis were hot and fresh when served. They were cut in half to fit in their to-go containers, which was thoughtful and convenient. The spam they used wasn't the traditional kind that we're used to seeing. It was thicker, but still tasted the same. There was also a lot of teriyaki sauce that off-set the salinity from the spam. There was more sauce than I'd like, it can get a bit messy when you eat them. It was delicious, none-the-less! I definitely recommend getting those. My husband enjoyed the Macadamia Pancakes! He said loved the cream on top and the portion was well worth the $9. The restaurant was pretty packed when we got there around 11am on Sunday. There is only one cashier, so the line will build easily and start to feel a bit congested. They have several menus available to peruse while you're waiting to order. Parking is tight and can be a challenge. We had to circle twice before we found one. Note, it is shared between them and another establishment. They offer seating indoor and outdoor in front and back of the restaurant. Both sides are shaded, it's a great option if you want to enjoy the breeze. I don't normally drive out this way, but I'm glad this passport forced me to come out to try this one. I would love to try their poke! Thanks, Aloha Food Factory, for the great food! We will coming back again.

Today was definitely the perfect day. Knowing what I know now as I write this review, we would return & bring friends here. It's about 78 to 80°F on a Friday a few minutes before 1 pm, surprisingly, it was low key--only a couple tables taken indoors by patrons and a set of guys on the patio. At the door, it said to seat ourselves & I immediately shot to the patio. The set up: once seated, the server comes with menus, you order & it's a sit down meal. Giselle was our friendly & attentive server, young & attentive. Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito ($11.50) & I opted for build your own omelette $11.50 for a 3 egg omelette & choice of two items- mushroom and bell peppers accompanied with breakfast potatoes, and chilaquiles ($13.99) to share. The patio seating is fresh, airy, there are tables, outdoor furnitures (sofas) and bright orange umbrellas for shade. My photos captured these elements. The food arrived shortly, although not all at once. I didn't mind it all because the ambiance was so soothing with the sound of birds chirping away and the background of other patrons talking. The only complaint from Hubby was too many pototo chunks in his burrito. My omelette was hot, fresh ingredients, delectable & the potatoes were mixed with 3 colors of bellpeppers. Oh and the chilaquiles? Pretty darn good! The tortilla chips were crispy, perfect amount of green salsa, freshly diced onions & a sprinkling of cotija cheese. Was I famished or was it that good that I devoured everything? What's left was Hubby's potato chunk discards. Giselle returned a few times to ensure our experience is to our satisfaction & another staff also stopped by to check on us. Such a perfect meal & day-- I'm so happy with this visit. A weekend brunch with friends brought me to Madre's Whittier, where the menu offered plenty of tempting options--and a few unexpected lessons about ordering seafood. I tried the Ensenada Omelet, loaded with shrimp, salmon, crab, and octopus. Now, I'm a seafood lover, but octopus and I aren't exactly close friends. I asked if it could be removed, but since the seafood mix is pre-made, the octopus had already RSVP'd to the party. The omelet was good, topped with a creamy sauce, but not something I'd order again. The crab appeared to be imitation crab, and while everything was prepared well, it just wasn't a standout for me. The real star? The strawberry pancakes. Delicious! Next time, I'd order those with a side of eggs and call it a win. I also sampled the chilaquiles, and now that's a dish I'd come back for. The Tiramisu Latte was another favorite--not overly sweet and packed with that classic tiramisu flavor I love. A special shoutout to our waitress, Annie, who was attentive, friendly, and made our brunch experience even better. My Verdict: Skip the Ensenada Omelet and build your brunch around the stars of the menu instead. The strawberry pancakes are the must-order item, the chilaquiles are a strong savory choice, and the Tiramisu Latte ties everything together. If you order wisely, Madre's delivers a brunch worth coming back for.

Each bite felt like a warm, decadent cloud. (Important Note: These Pancakes have a LONG wait. Each Jiggly Pancake had an expected 20 to 30 minute preparation time. Also, I recommend eating it dine-in. If you wait too long, these fluffy treats promptly get mushy.) I arrived at Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel) on Wednesday (11AM - Opening Time). Parking is easy. There's an underground lot for extra parking. Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Customers must pay with card and insert phone number in the kiosk, but Customers can pay cash at the counter. Dine in customers grab a metal number that's stacked between the kiosks. Staff spoke limited English, but Staff is professional, diligent, and accommodating. My order took 24 minutes. As mentioned, I love the Creme Brûlée Soufflé Pancake ($17.50). It's plated and presented lovingly and seductively. It's memorable. With each motion, I bit hard onto its fluffy, lightly sweetened body. I savored how the creme brûlée's creamy sauce dribbled. It's layered, supple, and thick. I shake the plate. It dances. On ambiance, Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel) is comfortable. There's about seven interior tables and two counters. The music is slow-tempo and gentle. And it's clean. There's also a gender neutral restroom for customers. Overall, I created lovely memories at Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel). The wait is extremely long, but I found contentment at this journey's end. If you love wiggly pancakes & have plenty of time to spare, this is an easy recommendation. 4.8 out of 5
