Scotturb operates the bus network in Sintra, Cascais and Oeiras. I had the opportunity to ride…read moretheir buses from Cascais to Cabo da Roca and back. Tickets are purchased on board and the driver was not only able to make change and provide my ticket, he was busy driving the bus at the time. That was impressive. The bus did have a wifi network but we're out in the sticks here in many cases on switchback roads in the mountains east of Lisbon. It didn't work very well so I switched to cellular. Other than that, it's a pretty standard city bus with 2x2 seating, hand grabs throughout and even USB chargers (through the one at my seat had been vandalized). The bus was clean and well lit. It kept to the schedule posted in the bus stop where I picked it up in Cascais and where I returned from Cabo da Roca. [Review 19047 overall - 241 in Portugal - 16 of 2023.]

Terrible experience - dishonest pricing and overcrowded buses…read more I took a Scotturb bus in Portugal and was extremely disappointed. The driver refused to sell the regular €4 ticket, insisting that I buy the 24h pass for €13.50. On their own website, this pass is listed at €12, but the price on the bus is made to look like a discount (they cross out €18 to make it seem like a deal -- it's not). To make things worse, the bus was completely packed, with people standing shoulder to shoulder for the entire ride. No comfort, no space, no respect for the advertised service. A tourist trap on wheels. Avoid if you can -- especially if you expect fair pricing and basic travel conditions.

It gets the job done. This is the ferry terminal for Almada, across the Tagus River from Lisbon. I…read morehad one arrival followed a few hours later by one departure. There are ticketing kiosks which is useful because my 24 hour pass from the Lisbon network didn't work here. Cheap enough for an 8 minute ride - less than €2 each way. They have clearly visible signs showing not only how long until the next ferry departs but also what percent full it is. Helpful info! There is a small convenience store and some other retail. The station was under major renovations when I was here in January 2022. Easy connection to the trams and buses which took me most of the way to the Christ statue. I returned with a walk along the waterfront after dinner at Ponto Final and that five star review is coming soon. Inside the waiting area, some seating and some vending machines. The "boarding" sound goes and everyone starts moving for the ferry. It's an easy walk for a shop that does this a dozen times a day back and forth across the river. Overall, as pleasant an experience as one can have on mass transit.

Inside the terminal in Casilhas we bought one way tickets and they were €1.30 per person. The trip across the river was fast and smooth, a perfect ending to our day of walking in Cascais and visiting the Cristo Rei statue.
