My family used to frequent this place all the time when I was younger, the food was great back then. The owners have changed since then and it's gone downhill since. I've eaten there twice in the last 2 years and both times the foods been terrible. I recently got food there (the second occasion) and it gave me food poisoning, and it was the only thing that I ate that was out of my normal daily routine (and the rice tasted SO off, I couldn't even finish it.). The Boba tea tastes funny, its not even remotely good. Honestly, I wish the previous owners never sold it. It's been run down and that's very sad to witness as this was a very good place years before. read more

My wife and I were visiting Pocatello and craving some good Chinese food. We chose to dine at one of the local independent restaurants instead of one of the major chain's restaurants in town. I am so glad we did because Ming's definitely did not disappoint. We were not just impressed with the quality of the food, but also the professional service. We ordered appetizers, and several of the main dishes. All of the dishes were really, really good. In addition, we had enough leftovers for the next day! We are visiting from Southern California and the family wanted Chinese so we gave this place a shot. It was the BEST Chinese food we've ever had! Each dish could have easily served 2 people and everyone got something different so we could all share a few bites and try a little of everything. Man, I used to love Ming's. Went there a couple times a month to order their Honey Walnut Chicken and it was always amazing. However, I don't live in Pocatello anymore, so I've gone back a couple of times when visiting and it's just not as good anymore. It's under new ownership and both times they've overcooked the chicken so that it's tough. Anyway, really want to love it, but it's just "meh" now. Unfortunately, probably won't go back, though to be fair- the only thing I'm basing this entire review on is the honey walnut chicken. Food is good, I have been a customer of theirs for about 12 years now, but I'll never go again. I drove an hour, hired a babysitter, ordered in advance... There system apparently doesn't take debit cards. Wasted about three times the order cost just to get there and be told 'sorry it's a new system and its having some difficulties' I didn't have any other payment method so i left empty handed back home. I wasted the gas and baby sitter expense for less than nothing. I will never go to this place again. read more

I visited this Cafe because of the high ratings. In short, this was the worse meal ive ever had. I order the shrimp appetizer and the combination dinner #2. The shrimp had been pressed into a long string then coated with halft-inch of heavy breading which was over cooked. The dinner was very over cooked and the Vietnamese roll was so overcooked it was burnt. General Tso chicken was so so heavily coated and over done I could only sample one piece. Good General Tso chicken is lightly flowered to hold the sauce. This was like rocks with a slight sauce drizzled on the combination tasting nothing like I've experienced in dozen of restaurants. The fried rice looked and tasted like Minute Rice with only the barest of additives and wasn't fried. After tatting each item to see if anything was edible I paid my bill and left. I had a better meal down the road with a junior Whopper. I believe all the Taber reviews are fake. DO NOT EAT HERE, ITS AWFUL! read more

Love this place !!! The food is delicious and the service is great . The drinks are delicious, love the chamango beverage it's sweet and salty and wonderful to my taste buds but I'd have to say my favorite is the Thai tea. read more

Arrived at 7PM, there was one other party in the restaurant, we were seated immediately, but it took 10 minutes before we had the chance to order (the woman who seated us was in the back, she looked really stressed and I thought that perhaps she was somehow helping to cook the food, but eventually three different other people came out from the back, two with aprons on, so probably not). When we were able to order, my party ordered the combo meal, and asked to substitute a cheaper item for a more expensive one, we were charged $1 to do that, which I found annoying, but acceptable. I also asked for the appetizer special, which was advertized on the menu board, but was told that they didn't have it. When the first part of the food finally came, about 15 minutes later we were disappointed that the BBQ Pork was cold, flavorless, and actually served with ketchup. Another 15 minutes later we received Sweet and Sour Pork and Mandarin Chicken, both were thickly breaded and had what appeared by taste and visually to be the exact same sauce, which although better on the pork was rather thin. The other two items however were quite pleasant, Chicken Lo Mein, which was one of the best I've ever tasted, and Walnut Prawns, which had such a delicate breading, I initially thought that they weren't fried. Ultimately however, the fact that It took 45 minutes to get the main meal in a nearly empty restaurant, In which I was able to eventually identify 5 different employees, and then more than half of the items we received were bad, or just OK, ensures that I will not be returning. read more

Best Chinese food place in town. All dishes are great. Pork, beef or chicken you can't go wrong. Pork Lo Mein is amazing. Sesame Seed chicken is awesome as well. Building is kind of a dump but the food makes up for it. I tend to avoid eating in and get my food to go. read more

I love Ming's Cafe. It's my baseline for all other Chinese / Asian food places right now. They have excellent fried rice, and my wife and I both love the fried tofu. Good food and service. The lunch specials come at an unbeatable price for large servings. A bowl of soup is complimentary with every dine in meal, and the chicken egg drop soup is fantastic. It is well seasoned and hearty. My favorite items are the fried potstickers and honey walnut shrimp, and my boyfriend is in love with the orange beef. They all pair well with steamed rice, but entrees also have the option of the pork fried rice. I like to pour a little bit of their sweet and sour sauce in my fried rice, and it's the only sweet and sour sauce I have ever liked from a Chinese restaurant. Mings is the best Chinese cuisine and the food comes out hot and delicious. The egg drop soup is wonderful..the waitress was lovely and sweet. The waitress came to our table twice to ask if we needed anything else. We love the atmosphere and even though you can order out, my son and I go often for Chinese cuisine. I, in all the years Ive been going, return over and over. The staff is so accomidating and friendly. I go to restaurants a great deal, this is a gem, and class act!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
