My ZTE Axon 7 is almost 2.5 years old and the battery kinda gave up the ghost. I called up Ming Wireless and got a very reasonable quote for $60 to replace the battery, including parts and labour, with an estimate of 30 minutes required for the swap. I called up today, confirmed they were available, and walked on over. They honoured the Yelp discount as well, but be aware that it's higher than they thought it was (15% vs 10%) so they may be modifying the listed deal in the future. The swap, true to their word, took 30 minutes. As a matter of fact, the entire transaction only took 30 minutes, according to the time stamps on my receipts - check-in at 6:27 PM, payment at 6:57 PM. They offer a 90 day warranty on repairs, but make sure to keep your orange ticket receipt and your payment receipt. Physical or liquid damage will invalidate this warranty. I asked to keep the old battery, to use in another project, and they even put it in a bubble bag for me! I should have asked them to wipe down the screen for fingerprints, but in fairness I didn't, so that's kind of on me. On the whole, I'm very happy with the experience, and looking forward to at least another year or two of use of this phone. In fact, I'm using it to write this review! Got my iPhone 6 screen replaced here after it cracked from being dropped, cost $124 with a new screen protector and was finished in less than an hour. Worked fine initially but over a couple of days, the touch function got progressively worse. I came back to get it fixed, which was covered under warranty for the initial screen replacement (90 days). When I got it back I was told that I needed to replace the touch IC - even though touch function was completely fine prior to the first screen replacement, and they wanted to charge me around 200 for damages that I can only assume that they caused. At this point my screen wouldn't turn on at all, and my phone was essentially useless. They wanted a couple of days to replace this, and were unable to provide a loaner phone while it was being fixed. I wasn't able to leave my phone there without notice for a couple of days, and was forced to sit around in the shop for 30 minutes without knowing what was going to happen to my phone. I was told that "the technician won't even talk to me now, he's angry about the phone", and the sales guy kept having to call his boss to know what to do. Afterwards they gave my phone back to me with a cracked screen - not the original screen I had come in with, but someone else's cracked screen - and the screen was working again in terms of visibility, but the touch function was just as bad if not worse than before. I got a refund but I'm not sure if they have now damaged the touch function on my phone. read more

I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau against this place and hope to take it further. I dropped off my tablet on Wednesday evening, I was quoted as takinbfone week to fix. I changed my mind (the tablet was cheap and it wasn't really work the $130 to fix). I tried calling but they had no answering machine and no one answered. I show up the next morning as soon as they open. Even though they have not done any work on the tablet they tell me they won't return it to me until I pay half. I ask them where it says on their website or on the receipt this policy. They tell me, it doesn't because this has never happened before. The woman also yelled at me when I told her that I didn't like the fact that they have my password and why would they need it anyway when it was just the screen that needed to be replaced. TLDR; They are thieves. Take your business else where! IN RESPONSE TO THE REPLY I RECEIVED: It is not a laptop- it is a chrome book. You should know the difference- it is your profession. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews! I smashed the screen of my iphone6s and called about 4 to 5 places in Toronto that quoted me $200 to $250 to get this replaced. I was a bit hesitant to go to Ming's because of the Yelp reviews but for $140 I thought I would give them a try. Plus the location is right near my office so that helped. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. He gave me the price and said it would take 2 hours to fix. He said there will be a 3 month warranty if something goes wrong, but not if I were to drop it again (duh). I came back in 2 hours and my phone was fixed! Looks like new, although they do use a different glass than Apple but so does every other third party cell repair place. If you want the actual glass that Apple uses then you have to get your screen repaired through Apple only. I can barely notice the different glass, if anything it seems a bit thicker but it doesn't bother me at all. The screen is clear and the touch screen works so I'm happy! read more

I took my Blackberry Bold 9000 here to have the LCD replaced (I dropped it). The repair was $100. Like most of these poorly run sketchy electronics shops the price varies depending on who you talk to, what time of day it is, the colour of your shoes and whatever other variables they have incorporated into their pricing model because I was quoted $90 on the phone. When I drew their attention to this oversight the response was a blank stare and, "No! $100 for LCD" So I had it replaced since I had already walked all the way there from work and needed it done. I picked it up the next day and all was fine. However, when I got back to work and put it on my desk I noticed I couldn't see the screen when it was laying flat. Clearly they had replaced the LCD with non-OEM standard equipment and as a result the LCD appeared cloudy when the viewing angle was too severe. Then a few weeks later I was carry my BB around in my back pocket AS I ALWAYS DO (and still do with my new current BB) while doing some things around the house. The screen turned all white- from the "pressure of being in my pocket", I was told. I tried to explain they used an inferior LCD and that the LCD was the problem but again, the blank confused stare and "NO! You break LCD." Had they replaced it with a quality part that could handle a bit of use this wouldn't have happened and I could have gone on using it the way I used to use it. They refused to honour the warranty. The cherry on top was when they offered to replace it for a fee... $90. read more

DONT GO HERE, They somehow managed to turn a simple unlocking service (on an ANDROID no less!) into a weeklong ordeal, and overcharged me by at least 20 dollars, when i could have gone to the dozens of stores nearby and had it done for a fraction of the cost... and reading the reviews on yelp and google, its frankly surprising to see a shop like this still in business after ruining so many other customers phones, and having horrible customer service TLDR save your money and your phone DONT GO HERE read more

The worst place to get your phone fixed. I had to bring my phone back three times and it's still not fixed. My phone now opens apps, changes screens and types messages all by it self!!!! I used to bring my phone here but the mgmt team has changed. The worst thing is they won't give me a refund until the next day because they are saying the owner isn't here to give me back my old cracked screen. They want their malfunctioning screen back and want to put back my broken screen. I don't live downtown and then back and forth with parking is becoming so expensive. This place stay away! read more

Amazing!! They repaired my Samsung phone after the technician at Tech Zone (in China town-Dundas and Spadina) had installed a knockoff and faulty screen. The technician at Ming Wireless even showed me the condition of the screen and the authentic Samsung stamp on the back, before installing it. My phone works perfectly now and they repaired it in just 30 minutes for a good price. Cellphone accessories like screen protectors and cases were discounted for people getting phone repairs which was great!! read more

I had the absolute worst experience ever. I used to go to Ming's when Ming ran it and it was always safe, affordable and reliable. I just had my cracked screen fixed thinking no big deal...my screen was destroyed and after paying $250 last week to have it replaced they wanted another $250 to repair the LCD exactly a week later. They also opened at 10. They were 30min late to open and took 30 minutes to get their computers going just to pull up my file. I'm in shock. I NEVER EVER write reviews on Yelp but this just took it next level. I get phone issues are stressful a little professionalism and customer service goes a long way. Unfortunate experience: I dropped my iPhone 5S and broke the glass screen. Everything else still worked including the headphone jack. I brought it to Ming on Dundas. Screen was replaced for 100 dollars. The next day I realized that the headphone jack was not working. I brought the phone back to Ming and explained that the headphone jack had worked prior to bringing the phone to Ming but now was not. I was then told that I would be charged to replace the jack (that was damaged while MING replaced the screen!) that sometimes things get "moved around" when the glass is being replaced, and that there are "never any guarantees anyway", I said no to replacing the jack. So, I basically wasted 100 dollars. If you decide to go to Ming with a repair, know that you are taking the risk of throwing away your money. They do not honour their work at all. Also, the woman who was working behind the counter both times I went in was very dismissive, sarcastic, unhelpful, and rude. All in all a shabby, low quality operation. read more

Returned my iphone here for the third time this week. The rudest man I have ever spoken with (who called himself Hamzil) told me my issues were lame and ridiculous. The first time there were huge black bars running across the screen while the second time there was a dead pixel in the center. This was pointed out by this man's co-worker who agreed with us yet wouldn't argue on our behalf. I tried to be polite but after he told me to leave, refused to talk to me and called me names I demanded a refund. Not only did he refuse the refund (which he earlier suggested), but he said i would now have to wait 2 days for a fix (which I am sure is because he is just being difficult/disrespectful.) I would like to add that he refused to produce the owners name or email so I could speak to someone more competent. Never make the mistake of going here. Not only do they not produce a service, but they belittle you whilst you are there. If the owner happens to read this please leave an email/number or way to get in touch so this issue can be fixed in the fastest possible manner. I went to get my iPhone 5s repaired the had cracked. An older gentleman told me that it would be $100 and take an hour. He seemed quite charming and spoke of his other career before moving into this job. His young technician in the back kept his head down the whole time. After the repair, I bought a screen protector for a few extra dollars. This was in January this year. Not 7 months later the screen starts having dead spots on it. Rather than spend money on a new phone I take it to Fixit on the Danforth. Another $100 and another screen protector. But this time the guy shows me that the screen Ming's man put in was a damaged one that had writing on it that stated so. They gave me a crappy part and charged me as if it was new. That's fraud. To Anyone reading this review. Please, Please, Choose some other wireless store for your screen repairs. I should have read the reviews here before going to this place. Bought my OnePlus One Phone screen online, came perfectly bubble wrapped packaged, brand new from a reputable source. Went to Ming Wireless to have my cracked OnePlus One screen replaced. The entire time the woman kept repeating, "No Warranty", as though trying to warn me from the place. Once I got my phone fixed (or what I assumed fixed). The screen had dead pixels, damaged in the center as though the screen has been dropped. The touch on the screen is jerky, I'm going back to my Google Nexus Phone that I have dropped over 100 times and still works like a charm. The new screen (Or What I think) does not feel New in any way, I have noticed damage on the screen on at least 4 places. I would agree with previous reviews on price changes. As once I got my new screen that I bought online, they gave be a different quote on repair than the first time I was there. And it does matter who you talk to at the store. Even if lets ASSUME, since I don't have any evidence, that the screen came bad from the Online store. The store had unprofessional service, extremely shady atmosphere presented by the service representatives and no fixed pricing. For anyone getting screen repairs done, and have your own screen. Make sure you mark with something that they can't remove. So you can identify YOUR screen after the repair is done from the store. Definitely not a brand new screen that they replaced the cracked screen with. They robbed me of the screen I got, and I have no way at this point of proving anything back at them. Got my Samsung S6 phone screen replaced here and had a rough experience. They did it quickly, but it cost a lot ($250, because it was an extensive job). Turns out the replacement glass they used was crap, and within two weeks the screen had two new cracks from simple things like putting the phone down my countertop. Went back to the store right away to use the 90-day warranty and they basically said it doesn't exist. I'm happy to pay up for quality and a warranty, but it was bad glass and horrible customer service. Be careful. read more

I brought my iphone here to have the screen replaced after I shattered it and wanted to save a few dollars rather than taking it directly to Apple. Not worth the few dollars saved based on the amount of times I have had to return to have the phone re-fixed and now Apple won't even touch it to fix it properly. After the initial repair the screen was not attached properly causing it to go black and I'd have to hold it down in order for it to work, or it would randomly start pulling up screens, typing messages, etc. I dealt with it for a few weeks, then it was getting out of control so I brought it back. They repaired the screen and it seemed to work fine after. For about a week. Then on Tuesday, mid-use, the screen went fully black and wouldn't come back on. I brought it back again. They repaired it for me for the third time and told me it was a problem with the "connector being loose" - something I would think would have been dealt with the first time I brought it in. I asked the woman at the front counter if I could take a picture of the receipt in case I had to come back AGAIN just as proof as to how many times I had been there and she gave me attitude when I asked this. I am STILL having problems with the screen. The keyboard will randomly stop working but I am just so sick and tired of wasting my time going there to have it "fixed" that I'm suffering through it at this point. Absolutely terrible service. I took my HTC One in to get the screen replaced. The price was good; however, the service was not. After they replaced the screen, the new screen was not quite placed on properly so the light for the home button shines through the screen and touching the screen doesn't work well when charging. When I realized there were problems and took it back that week to get it fixed, I described the problem to them and attempted to show it to them. They had problems communicating with me and refused to fix it. I have plenty of experience in the tech industry and their response in the store felt like incompetence. There was another guy in the store with me, and he said, "Good luck trying to get it fixed." My phone has never worked right since. So, the guy at the counter gave me an hour long speech about how I couldn't prove that my I had dropped my phone again and that's why it wasn't working. This place is so so awful. I broke my iPhone screen and took it here to get replaced. When I got it back, the touch screen was very unresponsive. I took it back a couple days later and they did it again, and it worked alright. Then, about a month later I dropped my phone again and the screen shattered immediately. I work close to Ming so took my phone back here to get the screen replaced yet again (my mistake..). This time when I got my phone back, the image took a few seconds to focus when I moved between different apps/screens, so it was pretty frustrating to use. I brought my phone back to explain the problem, and the guy working there tried to blame me for the issue? Saying there is nothing they would have done when they replaced the screen that would cause it to be acting the way it was. Mmk..but it was focusing perfectly fine before I brought it in, so clearly it was something they did. He said he would replace the screen again (although it was very clear he didn't want to) and when I picked it up, the same problem persisted AND now the touch screen isn't responsive either. So, I've had to buy a new phone because what they left me with is completely unusable. Will never go back here again. read more

Recommended by a friend of a friend. Close by to my work so I took my iPhone 4 to be fixed (screen shattered). Price was reasonable and service was done in a couple of hours but the woman who helped me was not pleasant at all! She wanted my password and I told her I didn't feel comfortable leaving my phone unlocked with them for a few hours. She, very rudely, told me that in order to test the sensor once the screen was replaced she needed it to be unlocked. I asked her if it was possible for her to test it when I return to pick it up. As luck would have it, there was an issue with a few buttons not working when I returned to pick it up. She then proceeded to lecture me about not leaving my password and that we would have avoided this if I had just left my password with her! I found this ridiculous and her attitude was atrocious!! Apparently i'm the only person who they have ever served who did not willingly leave their password!!! While i'm happy that my phone is finally fixed, based on the experience, I would not go back and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
