I felt like I could've done a better job myself. Now that I'm letting my hair grow out, I just take my 10 year old son to get his haircut here. My older son in college also comes here to get his haircut. PROS: * Both of my sons end up with a fresh looking fade and taper look. * Consistent with awesome results, great haircuts from majority of the stylists. * I like the concept of a barber shop with female barbers. It's trendy and adds a contemporary ambiance to a traditional barber shop. * Having a barber shop near my house is a time saver. * Location is convenient. Shop is located near Hanover Square Shopping Center where I can do my shopping/errands without wasting a lot on gas. CONS: In my experience the staff could be friendlier. Majority of the clients are male of course being that it is a barber shop. When male customers walk in, the greetings from the staff is friendlier as opposed to when I walk in. The greeting I get sound pretentious. Sometimes, I don't even get a greeting at all. I never ask for a specific hairstylist because most of them have great skills. But some days, it appears a couple of them purposely take their time with a customer in order to avoid certain walk-in customers. My son always get a haircut and shampoo afterwards. I make sure to write this down on the sign-in clipboard. A few months ago a stylist with long light blond hair cut my son's hair. After she cut his hair, she asked how old he is and my son replied, "I'm 9 years old." She told us that he didn't need a shampoo. What???? This was never an issue before. What a bizarre remark! This may seem trivial, but the music playlist at this shop seemed to accommodate the stylists' rather than the customers in general. By this I mean they should play different genres to provide for the customers. Give everyone a chance to listen to different types of music. The shop is constantly busy on the weekends. Which is actually a good thing because that means they do a good job at cutting hair. However, the waiting is extensively LOOOONG. They accept walk-ins. But you can also call ahead of time. That's why if you're a walk-in, expect to sit there for awhile. Make sure you bring a book to keep from getting bored to death. Overall, I do go back to this barber shop because it's very hard to find a good barber where I live. Mostly, I give a nice gratuity. If the stylist gave my son a great haircut, I will give 25%. If the whole visit was great for my son and myself, I give 35%. Would I recommend this place to my family and friends? Yes. I've recommended this shop to a few friends and family with citing the cons mentioned above.
