I come here at least twice a year during the summer months and I love how small the community is. Everyone knows each other. The lake itself is a substantial size covering about 1,300 acres. There are cabins on the lake and above in the surrounding hills. There's also a little market in town and just a few restaurants. Plan accordingly and bring what you need if you plan on staying for a few days. The location is also awesome because it's near one of my favorite hiking spots, Cedar Breaks and close to Zion & Bryce Canyon. The lake is surrounded by forest. It's so beautiful. Most folks visit to fish as you can find rainbow, cutthroat, brown, and brook trout. You can also canoe or kayak around the lake. ATV's are all around as that's how most people get around and there are hundreds of miles of trails to explore. It feels like you're very far from everything...

The little shop in the main building check in area was very cute and had a lot of fun things to look at and buy! We stayed one night in a tent camp spot. There are restrooms attached to the main building with showers, toilets, and sink/mirrors. There's also a dish washing space for longer stays. The camp site had decent shade and grass area to put your tent on. There were a couple picnic tables for use as well. There are free-roaming peacocks that are beautiful but are definitely loud in the morning! We went in July which is really hot for the hot springs, but it was nice since it wasn't busy! We had our soak time from 8-10pm which was great to view the sunset and soak while the air cooled off. It's such a unique hot spring location with bathtubs and larger pools. The owner walked around and made sure everyone was comfortable and was super friendly. I liked that they weren't sulfur hot springs so you didn't stink after! The negative reviews here seem like they didn't read the website that explained what to expect. I appreciate the websites honesty in keeping this location rustic and authentic, while acknowledging there are things they could improve. Knowing you're not going to a five-star location would be beneficial. The small business aspect played a huge role, in having great hospitality and a very friendly atmosphere. The Beaver river runs right in the campground, with an accessible area, completed with a park bench to sit on. There is also a group fire pit.

I came back to the site and noticed that a box with two cans of bear spray, a hatchet, a rubber mallet, and more was stolen. It was probably $200 worth of supplies. I talked to the camp hosts to see if they saw anything, but one was totally avoiding me and the other seemed dumbfounded. Neither asked if I wanted to file a report. The dumbfounded one said, "I did not even know there was such a thing as bear spray." To me, both were weird and evasive interactions. I had stayed here previously two years ago but would not trust to stay here again. I canceled my return reservation on 09/21/24 and am losing my $33 payment.

We stayed at the North campground for three nights and then the overflow area for two. There are a few other camping areas as well, there is a south, and then at least two or three additional camping areas near by. I found them all when I got lost hiking around. The camp spots are not all created equal, some a far better then others, and without knowing the area first, you can't possibly know if your getting a quality spot. We reserved a space before we left. When we got there, we found that the place that we had reserved, did not have a flat space for a table next to the RV spot, we would have to hike up and down a little hill to get to a table every time we wanted anything. It just didn't work for our style of camping this time around. We spoke to the camps hosts and they let us switch spots to another open one with no problem. The next plot fit our requirements much better. Although its good to know that not all spots have a water spicket. Each lot does have a fire pit area with a flip style sort of grill, but no BBQ's. There are bathrooms, just toilets, the hand sinks don't work because they say they are trying to conserve water (although I just found that really odd, because I would just go to the spicket and wash my hands). The bathrooms are clean, and well maintained. Also, the lake was not very yielding. You had to throw back anything under 17", which was everything that was caught by my group. All in all, it was a fun, quiet place to go and I would recommend it to any outdoor lover. Next time I go, I will be tent camping and I will probably stay at the South campsite for that.

We wanted to give it a shot and while we were walking I heard some cracking but I before I got confident walking on the frozen lake I got a stick I was tapping on the ice to see if it break easily. Getting to the lake was so beautiful and the surrounding was really nice. Just make sure you have the right clothing for snow just to stay warm.

Bill took pictures of us and while crunched in a canoe with a life vest isn't a flattering look for me, I certainly didn't care at the time. We even helped clean up the area with our haul of trash! What a beautiful short easy hike located in Duck creek village in Utah. The views on this hike are…read moreso pretty and serene. It also looks across toward Zion National park. The hike will lead you along the canyon rim to a beautiful waterfall. There is a nice platform above the waterfall to take some nice scenic pictures. The hike only takes about an hour round trip. Plenty of parking at the parking lot and they also have restrooms as well. Steep drop offs along this hike so please be careful with little children.
